tbh, this is probably the most transitional season of them all. With Ashley actually putting his demands in place since his takeover and club review e.g spending and pay policies, and Keegan having his first full season in charge. This season could be one of the most critical in our history. If Ashley doesn't want to spend big and next season ends up going pear-shaped NUFC could be Championship-bound with no-one wanting to sign for us, fans not wanting to see us, the manager getting the sack etc etc etc. Conversely, should the one or two players we do sign make the difference, things could be set for take off again. Aye, I was more saying we're sick of it being an excuse for being shite again. I wouldn't mind a genuine transition season as such which is why I put it in quotes before. How am I supposed to see your quotation marks at my age???

This is a Newcastle World interview? What do people actually expect him to say????!!!!1111 NW: How's KK, Mickhael ? MO: Aww he's shite man. Everything's just a joke man. Wanker. I, and all the other players hate him.

Divvent worry, the dog fancier down the road will snap him up for £5m. Sherla and Duff for £10m.

Having worked with a stack of scots over the years they were always telling me that the Old Firm got preferential treatment from match officials, especially Rangers. I watched the game yesterday and couldn't believe what I was seeing - blatant deliberate incorrect decision making imo. A stonewall penalty that actually was stonewall and a good goal chalked off for the lamest of excuses. Truly dreadful officiating. -
Words fail me. I can appreciate the sentiments at the loss of his wife and wouldn't like to slag the guy off, but....

,,,,,,,,,Lost the play off against Exeter(of all people) despite being 3-1 up on aggregate at home with 20 mins to go (still don't know how the hell that happened) And.......lost in the FA Trophy yesterday at Wembley What a shit week. I've been feeling your pain T/R. I couldn't believe the Exeter result when I saw it. As you say, of all people!!! However, just remember NUFC lost in 1990 to our fiercest rivals and we put that down to a defining moment in our history; without that result we could have ended up like sunlun and not where we are today. Perhaps that result will prove the same for TUFC.

The more I think about it, the more I reckon Ashley wants the £100m back he paid off our debt with. We'll see. I posted ages ago that I thought we needed to spend £50m this summer to challenge Everton and Spurs and I still think that. Finding young stars for the future is great but once they prove to be something good they will want to move to London, Madrid or Milan and NUFC will just stagnate for the next twenty years around the middle of the table. However, by that time Ashley will have got his cash back, which will be nice for him. Time will tell.

I know nowt about him tbh, so I can't be too disappointed in him signing for spurs. If he went for £15m+ in today's market he's probably worth 9-10 million which means he sounds a reasonably good player. Spurs won the auction and maybe, just maybe, Mort and co should be congratulated at sticking to a price they think this lad is worth and not being tempted to overspend. After all, we are supposed to have a scouting team (the gang of three - Wise and the other two whose names I can never remember) second to none who evaluate players and decide what each individual is worth. If they had advised that this kid is only worth, say, £15m tops, then maybe Mort et al should be applauded. (btw, if the player was grossly over-priced, where were sunlun in all of this?? ) If the kid is so good, then why spurs? Where were the top european clubs in all of this? We will just have to wait and see how good he actually is. Remember Rebrov (cue t-Keith's 'who the fuck is Rebrov' etc etc ) ?? So a player has gone elsewhere. We should never be gutted by that. What should only concern is is who actually does come here; Mort/Ashley, it's over to you. EDIT. Sergei (sp) Rebrov is/was a diminutive Ukranian/Russian striker who spurs paid and extortionate amount of money for some 10 years ago. He was considered a great player then absolutely flopped.

But shirley he did well to get them promoted - despite the lack of any class in the team. But without that necessary class in the team, he was always going to struggle in the top division.

With the tools available to do the job, Souness must be the worst manager in Prem history. If you look up Souness in the dictionary, the explanation is 'Shocking'.

I seem to recall someone having a little ditty as his signature, in memory of that 4-1 game

Naughty! I told you that was confidential. When the committee are doing the auditions at The Phoenix Club: Brian Potter: "Where are they all coming from?? She only had four!!!"

I agree. The fact that most football followers would agree that it's extremely surprising that a club of Newcastle United's stature hasn't won anything since 1955/1969 points to the fact that we should have won something in the intervening period. Therefore it's not 'just NUFC fans who reckon we 'deserve' more'.

Should it not be Mrs L and not Mrs P ? Hmmmmm. *ponders* Anyway, send her on the bus/train/metwo to the Swedish MFI and you go on a cruise in the car - sorted.

Correct. Used to hate coffee but I'm getting into the 'scene' now. I particularly like a latte with a splash of vanilla. Oooh, chase me!

Another nail in the traditions of English football ? The Easter programme was always seen as a real test for the teams and could make or break seasons. I loved it. Playing a fuckin' friendly international at this stage of the season is a disgrace iyam. Rant over. For now !

Does he still win the second bet if we both go down? No. He's not a bad lad but I hope he loses both his bets (provided we stay up of course!).
-
A colleague of mine is an ardent Mackem. He stands to win £800 if they stay up and £2400 if they finish above us!!

I agree with what eminem, above, said. Anyway, we should look on the positives. At least the daughter will be starting life on a good sound footing!! -
