I think it was due to lack of match fitness, nothing's been said about an injury from what i've read/heard Put in Barton to be gone by the end of the transfer window and us to sign no players before the upcoming Mackem game -

You seem to be pinning your hopes on us getting bought out, when that has not looked like happening or going to happen anytime soon -
Didn't Nolan do worse to Sczecezny last season in the 4-4 game yet that was a mere ripple in the sea to the media, yet theyre creating a tidal wave over the Barton incident?

Someone did in the match thread, with the following drivel... He's had one match in the premier league and yet you've already written him off? Gosling's only had 20 odd league appearances in 3 seasons, the vast majority of which have been with Everton. He's also missed an entire season injured. Not sure why he's considered a superior option to someone who was a first teamer with Lyon? In the context of what is expected of him, as a direct compliment to the defensive steel Tiote provides (ie. An attack-minded creator through the middle corridor in open play, to provide fluency in attacking half, otherwise too much is expected from HBA: a factor used by some when defending Nolan's sale for the overall good of the team, highlighting the latter's weakness' to balance out what he actually brought to the team as an instinctive goal sneak inside the box) in open play............ yes i have written him off. He looks like the atypical role player in midfield (a serviceable jack of all trades, but overall a master of nothing) and in France has been surrounded by a steady supply of attacking talent, a bloke who just happened to have a release clause in his contract. From 'role player' to being the 'main man, to provide drive between the defensive & attacking thirds' here, at least in the engine room'. It's a big step-up, both in responsibility & ability. I don't see enough of the mindset (or forward drive) required to release some the pressure that will no doubt be humped on HBA's fragile frame, as opposition managers and their respective outfield units will see little need to shelter their rearguard with a balanced sideline-to-sideline defensive shape. Ahhh right, i thought they were going on about how people were saying the game passed him by and assuming that it meant we'd wrote him off

What will you do when they move your seat?
StoneColdStephenIreland replied to peasepud's topic in Newcastle Forum
Sat right at the back corner of the Gallowgate (Next to the SE corner) and what atmosphere there was seemed to start from the SE corner and only a few joined in with it from up where we were sitting. I hate that games are gonna lose a large amount of the fun of going to games without being in the Leazes corner, and the atmosphere has been totally killed It served no purpose what-so-ever removing the corner -
The game did pass him by like, but obviously it'll take him a bit time to get to terms with how we play and the Premier League pace. I wont judge him until after the Sunderland game

Coloccini put in a captains performance today, looked totally calm and collected in everything he done, Taylor alongside him put in a canny performance aswell. Raylor put in a steady, performance and done everything that was expected of him, just looked petrified to venture going forward meaning our threat down the left was non-existant. Tiote looked good in the tackle and defensively but with the ball looked a bit off the pace, which will only come with game-time. Hopefully Cabaye will get a bit more involved in next weeks game than he did in this one but he did look alright. We couldnt seem to get a sustained bit of attacking pressure at all during the game which was a worry, but it was the first game of the season and against a decent Arsenal team. I still get a little scared when Krul gets a rush of blood and that it might lead to a mistake, but thankfully he kept a clean sheet. Was in the gallowgate for the game aswell, the atmosphere was alright but nowt like it would have been if the Leazes corner was there. I'm gonna have to check out other parts of the stadium to see where the best seat for the atmosphere will be -

I hate everything Ashleys trying to make this club stand for, making it cheap and a stepping stone (ala Wigan) for players, plastering SportsDirect around is making us cheap and tacky, and is always trying fucking off the supporters to spite us, I hate what he's doing to us, and it fucking pains me to see it happen. I havent went through the 80's early 90's so i cant comment on that, but my memories of Newcastle started when Bobby robson was manager and there was passion everywhere along with tiny memories of when Keegan was here, and it pisses me off to see ashley trying to piss all over that passion we still have and will always hold, whilst knowing we will always go back to the toon no matter what

Pieters is probably the best pedigree were going to get, but im not expecting him to grasp Premier League football for a few moth yet or be a patch on what Enrique was for us (If we do get him) And getting M'Bengue seems a clear myth what some people seem to have jumped on, dont get your hopes up for that one, plus if we did we'd be fucked in the LB department come Jan/Feb when he'd be away to the African cup of nations

If/When we have our first team fit it will be a 4-2-3-1 Cabaye is naturally a deep lying playmaker, and will probably be his best position here -
No doubt. Good lefties don't grow on trees. He had a good understanding with jonas and most of our best play came down that flank. He was also very sound defensively. He will be a massive loss and I'm positive whoever replaces him will be a poorer player. We also played the Offside trap last year alot aswell, which when the ball got played in behind down the left Enrique would make sure to catch them, he was absolutely rapid and made sure players didnt get away from him, his link up down the left with Jonas was huge and took pressure off of the team for periods when we were under the cosh and helped spring attacks, he also allowed Coloccini to settle and play the ball out whenever he was under pressure So people saying he was shyte defensively etc are talking oot there arse, we're not gonna get a LB up to the standard of enrique and that will become abundantly obvious once the season starts You look at some of the best LB's in the Prem and look at where they play. They all play for the top 6/7 teams in the prem and we're not near that IMO
-
Shoreys shyte anyway, he cant get a game at WBA
-
Seems alot of people look to be nit picking at Enrique now that hes buggered off, he's the best LB weve had in recent years and will be the better than anything we will have in the coming years You'll realise how pivotal he was to us once were a few games into the season

Krul Simpson Williamson Coloccini Taylor Barton Tiote Cabaye Obertan Ba Jonas See us going with 3 CM's so we can feel ourself into the game and match Arsenals CM's and not let them control the game as much and then when the game gets on or if we go behind then the midfield start to open up a bit more -
I imagine his wages are significantly lower. Aye but he's significantly shitter and doesnt warrant a contract and indicates the club's lacking ambition when theyre signing up Ameobi to contracts ahead of our player of the season He was offered a contract, agreed to it and then renaged ffs He then spen spring slagging off the board at talk ins and via twitter. Some perspective if its not too much trouble. Yeah, just cut out all the details in which when at the time come to think of it, most people would have thought "Hold on, where is this club wanting to go" Like selling Carroll after insisting he wouldnt have been sold, a player in which we could have built the team around in years to come and become a Toon legend and then getting no replacement in at all And then when after getting voted player of the season and being a standout player, and the club insisting the money would be invested, both parties sat down and then he got told no contract was forthcoming, and then in the following following main players getting sold and going to be sold and no sign of re-investment, he slagged the board off, which he was basically telling the truth, but in hindsight shouldnt have done it Some perspective if its not too much trouble.

Not sure in the truth of these (If any) but United for Newcastle posted on FB that Theres gonna be a divide where the Level 7 singing corner used to be with SportsDirect.com advertised and that Simon Bird has said we're trying to sell Lovenkrands back to Rangers
