  1. Aye, despite the fact Liverpool's bigger than Hull and Coventry's city center was the worst affected, as i've said . Pacinofan, you're not helping your cities image I really don't give a flying one about what you think of me, or the city I come from. Your ignorance was evident when you said Bristol was the most important port at the time of slavery. Liverpool overtook it in all respects. Really? Bristol was THE slavery port, Liverpool was eventually bigger yes, but you do realise we outlawed slavery in 1807? In the 1700's Bristol was known along the world for trading slaves... AND WHY THE FUCK DO YOU EVEN WANT TO BE ASSOCIATED WITH IT? I mean i've been studying the slave trade in the past month for my University course, but I guess having a different view than you about your city makes me ignorant, good one! Edit: Might I add that Liverpool indeed did have a great effect on the slave trade, especially in the later years, but overall it was nothing on Bristol, and like I said, why are you so proud of it?

  3. Nice to see the three top boys combining for Galaxy's goal in the Final. Beckham flick on to Keane who plays it to Donovan for the goal, imagine if we had that 5 years ago! (for the record I do think Donovan is class, obviously nothing compared to the other two in their primes but I wouldn't say no)
  4. Nerh, i'd like to see em in the bottom 3 for most of the season, still want em to stay up though, 4th or 5th from bottom is the perfect compromise
  5. Support Newcastle like, stepdad growing up was a Geordie... It's not like I have a problem with someone just because he's a Scouser, but when most act like this Pacinofan its hard not to ridicule em. What i've noticed too is that Everton fans seem to be a lot more likeable than Liverpool fans, and that when I went to Anfield the atmosphere was diabolical, despite this "Best fans in the world" bullshit.
  6. Liverpool was the second most bombed city in the UK. Can't be arsed with the rest of your post which is a mixture of opinion and ignorance. No it wasn't, I know it wasn't because i'm from near Hull and Hull was, 90% of it's buildings were damaged! Hull's still a shithole, as is Liverpool, what's the relevance? From wiki... Hull was the most severely bombed British city or town apart from London during the Second World War, with 86,715 buildings damaged and 95 percent of houses damaged or destroyed.[2] Of a population of approximately 320,000 at the beginning of the war, approximately 152,000 were made homeless as a result of bomb destruction or damage. Aye and the whole of Coventry's city center was fucked too... Coventry, Hull, Liverpool, all severely bombed... all shitholes

  8. To be fair like quite a few cities have undergone "suburbanisation", including Newcastle. Although Newcastle has in the last 10 years has increased in size by 40k
  9. Yeah Pacinofan, Coventry also got absolutely battered by the Luftwaffe... and that's not where the similarities between Liverpool and Coventry end. Liverpool is the only place i've been seriously concerned for my safety in the daytime, and I live in London ffs . There was a bang-on point made about Detroit, Detroit is the American Liverpool, it's looked at by the rest of the country in the same way we look at Liverpool, basically, "Oh dear!". There's no amount of City of Culture, shit birds on top of buildings or 1 amazing band 50 years ago that can take the absolute shiteness of Liverpool away. I've been to Sheffield/Nottingham a fair few times, and they definitely have more charm than Liverpool. Although to be fair, most of the slave-trade went through Bristol, which was by all accounts the most important port of the time, and is now an infinitely nicer place than Merseyside.
  10. Aye, i'd easy put the Great Fire of London ahead of it mind, for its time and everything too.
  11. You don't have to. You're British. Show's the Irish can't govern themselves and should all be governed from Westminster! ... avatar_6feb8634e3d0_128.png
  12. All of a sudden, I prefer Man United to Man City, at least they earn the money they spend. Oh and the way Man City fans are now lauded as excellent when before the money (and at times last season) it was empty seats everywhere is a disgrace.
  13. It does tbf, there's a whole collection of ones with a similar sorta look, saw about it in this months FourFourTwo and went to check the posters out, I think they look ace.
  14. Bored of my white walls in my room at Uni... so been getting some posters/flags/generic stuff to fill my room. Wanted to get a football poster to put next to my notice board, anyone know of anywhere that does anything good? Must admit i've been swayed a bit by this so far like http://stanleychowsoccerprints.bigcartel.com/product/gazza-geordie
  15. Aye I did that a few months back, wish it'd have ended better fo sho
  16. I wouldn't mind the old yellow and green shirt
  17. Europe [and the UK] was far better off before we imported all these assorted spongers from all over the world and had a lower population. Sweet Jesus it is correct. Please don't say you are happy that we have a few million spongers who can't speak English coming to this country to pick up benefits, that YOU are paying for. http://news.bbc.co.u...000/8625801.stm You clearly know fuck all about the situation so please hush up. I just think federalising the European economy would bring wonders, of course in this country the thought of it gives the shitmunchers like UKIP the chance to rant on about how great Britain is and how the EU needs us but we don't need them

  19. "Joe Paterno doesn't walk into a Police Station" oh South Park
  20. Although it sounds as if I will regain my virginity by playing, this does sound awfully interesting! Was in Game today looking for NBA 2k12 and nearly bought this when they didn't have it in. Selling the old one for 17.99, would I be better off just messing around on that for a while before I buy Skyrim?
  21. Nope. NR was in blue. Oh shit I forgot about that one! I loved that shirt, was wearing it when I went to my first game vs Spurs .
