Admittedly he hardly had a stormer but that ball for Ameobi's offside chance was pretty spot on, he's shown enough flashes to give him some time. We just have to remember not to expect him to be a world beater, think he'll be a useful enough squad player.

Hahahahahahaha this has put me in a good humour!

Saw the fannys try an fail to smash a ladbrokes window on that, bout 7-8 of em with weapons, barely scraped it

A mixture of them two being amongst our best players (would argue Cole's been our most consistently good player the last 6-7 years) and Barton's issues being more severe, like doing actual jail time. Cole's worst stunt was that air rifle thing, apart from that he hasn't done anything particularly bad. While I'd be inclined to pick him regardless as I think he's grown out of his problems a bit, you can see why Capello maybe cba with the possible backlash, or even a few of Joey's unsettling tweets, for the sake of a squad player (at best).

Tiote not playing vs Arsenal + doubtful for derby

Any chance his new contract, changing his pay and length of employment, would constitute a change in work or add to the time it takes for him to reapply in any way? You would think the club would just issue a statement clarifying the situation, but they're probably just too embarrassed by it all. -
Take a glass of water to bed with you

Some caveats you added there like; So we're not counting Ronoldo, Piqué, Rossi, Forlan, Beckham or Tevez. Tim Howard is a s good as anybody Chelsea or Arsenal have sold to another English club. P. Neville is still 'good' too imo.

Submarine. Good. -
Not saying it's likely to happen. Might not be to everyones taste but again it may have some benefits. Your parents ill-fated bunk up after one too many Quatro's could've been avoided for starters .

What are the date rape rates like over there? The taliban would publicly whip women who had suffered rape. Don't think that was part of the 'rules' being put forth like. Oh, my bad. Feel free to continue making yourself look stupid. Being thought of as stupid by someone who appears to be clinically retarded is no great insult.

A WKD an a Rohypnol would be less than a tenner over here. I imagine. What are the date rape rates like over there? The taliban would publicly whip women who had suffered rape. Don't think that was part of the 'rules' being put forth like.

Would it really be so bad if these laws came into effect though? Might actually benefit society.

Sometimes people say we need to sign a 20+ goal a season striker as if theres loads of them hanging around that would guarantee that. There aren't. Torres has managed it twice in England, Drogba twice in seven seasons here. It's not unusual for a player to have an underwhelming season after a particularly good one, like Erdinc's just experienced. If he came in, refound his form and managed 10-15 league goals (which isn't all that pie in the sky) then he'll have been a success. Yeah he might not be overly keen right now, but the pretty clear rejection from PSG may just make him feel he has something to prove. Plus I like his funny c/g.
-
At least unlike Erdinc the players would look up to Crouch. Zing.

30. At least £7mill fee. High wages. Wants a 4 year deal. Link is just a case of him being likely to leave, us looking for a striker and it being a slow news day I imagine.

Is Michael Owen an Agent of Evil?
jonasjuice replied to Ayatollah Hermione's topic in Newcastle Forum
Never fails to amuse me how wound up people can get on here about a strangers opinion. If you dont wanna talk to him ignore him, pretty simple. Why does it matter so much? If Leazes turned around one day and declared his undyling love for Ashley what would you do? Implode with Happiness?? -

'18 goals from 41 games, 15 of which were starts' from wikipedia on his time at real. With those stats, 25yo, and all the bonus shirt sales etc he drew you can see why it seemed like a good idea at the time. -

Tbf selling players and buying cheaper replacements happens at a lot of 'big' clubs. Its how Tottenham made it up there, selling Berba and Carrick. Arsenal do it almost every season. The trick is getting the timing right and finding the right replacements. Not that im suggesting we'll necessarily reinvest the money to the extent or as wisely as those teams have though, its just thats its not a completely alien thing for a 'big' club to do. FWIW its daft to point out the Owen transfer and hold it as unarguable evidence that the previous regime had the wrong ideas. He'd just had a relatively succesful season at Madrid (albeit not as a first choice), was probably still England's best striker and it was impossible to predict just how many injuries he'd get and how badly they'd affect him. His wages were a bit ridiculous like. -
I disagree.

http://www.thesun.co.uk/sol/homepage/sport...n-Demba-Ba.html NEWCASTLE look set to beat Sunderland and Everton in the race to sign wantaway West Ham striker Demba Ba. Ba, 26, is ready to quit Upton Park on a free after the Hammers' relegation to the Championship. And his availability has sparked a scramble for his signature among Premier League clubs. But Newcastle, still seeking a replacement for Andy Carroll, head the chasing pack for the Sengalese star who hit seven goals for West Ham since joining from Hoffenheim in January. Toon boss Alan Pardew will be able to dwarf any West Ham terms and offer top-flight football. I realise these rumours must be taken with a pinch of salt, main thing that intrigued me was 'on a free'. I'm sure he joined them for around 6mil in Jan, anyone know if he had a relegation release clause or something? Poor journalism? My poor memory? Would be great on a free like.

Tbf buying earlier gives the players more time to settle and have a good preseason. Selling at the end means they go for higher prices as other teams panic buy. Yes there may be an element of wanting to increase ticket sales, but even so it just makes good business+footballing sense to do it this way anyway tbh.

If we're doing 'teams' can I be on team 'neutral/getting tired of the i'll be right you'll see, no i'll be right, no i'll be right shenanigans'? Seems like half the time people aren't actually talking about the potential ingoings/outgoings, just whos going to be 'right' and deserves a cookie and a pat on the head.

Can't understand why some people get so irate about someone (even misguidedly) talking up our chances and being hopeful, even if it is way OTT. Would you be happier with him if he was slagging Newcastle off and ruling out our chances? He just spreads cacky all over the place looking to wind people up. The fucking neck (or lack of it) This must be one of the few football related posts you actually make. At least my posts are football related and not stalking various posters (me included) with snipey little comments you mong of great (or not so great) proportions. There's a reason for that, any idea what it is? You're more of a dressage man?
