Abramovich is a maniac and deserves derision, but in regards to why the hatred has shifted: Team with most money = Buys most of the best players = Jealousy, Frustration and Annoyance = Hatred Always has and always will be that way. People dress it up in loads of different ways but most of the idiots who say 'I hate Team X they just buy success' would give a testicle for an owner like City's. Even if the owner wasn't a tit there'd be plenty of people who hate Chelsea. I think theres a element of fans of the 'old guard' like Man U, Arsenal and Liverpool who paticularly don't like it because they feel that clubs like Man City don't 'deserve' to come out of no where to be up there challenging them.
