  1. It's all I know how to do. It's safe to assume I'm terrified most of the time tbh, the virus hasn't changed much in that respect.
  2. He certainly said he was going to visit his mother tomorrow despite telling the rest of the country not to visit theirs, until his advisors quickly said he meant he'd be talking to her on Skype.
  3. Contract the coronavirus
  4. Me, pretty much ever since the Brexit referendum/Trump clusterfuck:
  5. Ee, you've gone viral! If that's the right word to use in the circumstances...
  6. At this stage I'll take Margate.
  7. Tenerife in May for Eurovision is obviously off for several reasons , and I'm assuming a weekend I've booked on the Dutch coast in mid-July is in trouble now too, but the airbnb is refundable and the travel can be rebooked for free so it could be worse. Hopeful I might get over to see my mate in Frankfurt at the end of August - I don't mind just kicking about at home or going for the odd bike ride if bars/restaurants are still shut, as long as some of the travel restrictions are lifted by then. We'll see. Mind, there's going to be a lot of people with a lot of unused holiday entitlement they need to burn through towards the end of the year. Might hit the economy even worse than the virus.
  8. It'll last as long as people aren't dickheads about it. I've been running so wide around people on my runs that you can actually see the curves on Strava. Someone'll spoil it for everyone though, they always do.
  9. "The situation will be reviewed each month." Why, it's almost as if that "we can get covid done in 12 weeks" thing was a load of shite...
  10. A lot of people said they liked Corbyn's ideas but disliked Corbyn. Turns out we needed Johnson in charge of the Labour Party. Sorted!
  11. Can I jog to a chemist that happens to be 5km away?
  12. Fairly narrowly, and I can't imagine most of the people frequenting a Wetherspoons during a global viral outbreak are remainers. But I do agree that education/information need to be stepped up alongside more stringent measures. Same with hyperlocal campaigns to assist the vulnerable and the like - it's great to see grassroots stuff emerging at a time like this, but a lot of it is online and a lot of the people most affected or in need won't be online in any shape or form, so the dots need to be joined up. Ironically, using gathering places like Wetherspoons to do so would be a great idea, while they're still open. Might be time to don the hazmat suits and wade in...
  13. It's definitely a risk not worth taking and it's going to kill people in greater number and sooner. But to most people the horrible news we've been seeing is still something that's happening "over there". "Over there" used to be China, then it became Italy, then it became France - I reckon even when London starts bearing the brunt you'll see people elsewhere in the country saying aye, well, that's London, we're fine here. Maybe it's just human nature.
  14. I think that's the problem, aye - people (deep down) know there's probably a shutdown coming, so they're going out and doing this stuff while they still can, maybe even more so. In terms of the health consqeuences it's negligent but you can understand the mindset really.
  15. I don't mind if they want to kill themselves and die in a particularly horrible way because there's no NHS capacity available for them, I just wish they'd let us know so we can stop turning our lives upside down for them.
  16. As a string quartet plays a sombre rendition of "Too shy shy, hush hush, eye to eye".
  17. Nothing but a portly traffic warden.
  18. On past form, that means imminent lockdown.
  19. Haven't been up central because no need to (or desire to), but no signs of anything around my neck of the woods yet. Going to go for a jog at lunchtime so I'll report back on any army movements.
  20. L'Italie... *wheeze* *cough* ...nul points.
