New DVD out soon too. Is that from his tour last year? I think he ended the UK leg at RAH. If so, then I was at the Manc gig of that tour. He was excellent. His live verison of India Mountain Time was really something else - it really set the hair off. In Woke Up Dreaming, I don't think I've ever known anyone play an acoustic guitar so aggressively either. Might get that DVD actually.

£60/wk for a 34yr old - no thanks. We're trying to offload our high earners. He would have been a good shout at lower wages, but he's not worth anytihng like that now, with or without a transfer fee.
-
2 tickets for Joe Bonamassa - 28th Nov in Llandudno. Oh and a mate's just bought me a ticket to see The Dead Weather at Manc Apollo in Oct.

Commentator didn't think it was a pen against Smith. D'Urso right not to give it he thought

Callum Davenport and his mother stabbed at home

Shocking news -
back on. Come on lads
-
awful that, hope him and his mum recover soon Haven't heard. What happened? Someone broke into his house last night and stabbed him and his mam. Stabbed him in the legs apparently. His mum is stable I think, but he's in serious trouble according to the commentator earlier. Shocking really. Presumably it's a rival fan for them to target both legs.

Nice one juice. If we can keep them out, going into the break 2:0 will be excellent
-
how we doing? Gutted I cant listen to it. I think i'm going to just bite the bullet and pay for the subscription. Means giving MA more money - but not listening to the match sucks

BBC Newcastle, on now! No good if your OOT
-
If the rumours are to be believed, isn't his missus from Newcastle? That was one of the driving factors for the move? If that's the case, we cant even attract someone who actively want to live in the area. It's not like we'd have to pay over the odd to lure him away from London.

Been on the sauce already paws? Sat in an open office on a client site and had to type quick. You must have been quick 'cos I edited that straight after posting

This for me too. Ignoring the insane optimism (accadacca), I'd say defensively we'll struggle all season now unless he's replaced properly. Taylor might have his faults, but I'm much less confident in this league without him at the back. This is a classic case of asset stripping. Many of the other sales have meant a drastic wage reduction as they've mostly been our higher earners. Taylor is not and should be kept. He's worth more than £8mil to us, especially if we are to have any chance of going up. Colo is the one we should be pushing not Tayls. If the much mooted Campbell move takes place, it will unfortunately be to replace Taylor (which would be great if it happened) rather than to partner him. Way to piss on my Friday.....

Where's you're optimism man Stevie Like you, I'd take an away draw like but I think we might win it. I dont think they are as strong as WBA although they do have a more settled team. Besides, we've got Shola man! Edit: my reply was to stevie's first post. Agree about thie Ipswich performance though. I'd also say, whilst they might be a bit riled after the goal that never was, I can't see it galvanising them into playing like ManU either

This was the right decision by the commitee imo. It would be foolish to endorse something you/we have no understanding of and potentially damaging if it turns out to be another Profitable and the NUSC were seen as part of it.

Well, well, well, another victory against a mediocre..

I'm all for enjoying the victory and getting carried away. I sit firmly on the eternal optimist side of the fence (irritationly so some would say); but realistically, unless we invest in the squad and sort the management out, we're going to come a cropper as the season goes on. Keeping players fit and injury free is a massive task. For all I dislike him, Barton was a miss last night and highlights our shortcomings. Imagine if we have 2/3/4 injured. A team of kids are likely to get murdered in this league. Hughton is doing the best he can with what he's got and in fairness to him, he's not making a bad fist of it. Are we better than everyone else, or are we punching above our current (handicapped) weight? By handicapped I mean, the negative impact the clubs state has had on the team. If this is a false dawn, then hopefully the club gets sorted out before it breaks If MA is going to sell the club, he needs to do it now. If he's not, we need to install a manager and buy some players before the window closes. I'm coming to the conclusion that MA is clearly not going to be forced into selling the club for less than he wants and the only way that is going to happen is if we get promoted. Logically, if he's going to keep hold of the club for another season, we need to make sure that promotion happens. That means player recruitment. We've moved a good proportion of the clubs higher earners off the books which was necessary and not altogether a bad thing. It will spell disaster if we dont replace them though. Can I also say though, bring on Palace. We'll have them too -
Bit early to judge Simpson I'd say. He's only been here 5mins. The glue's barely dried on his numbers man! As for Shola, Mrs Paws came up with the explaination for his current purple patch. She reckon's Hughton's had a word with Shola's missus and he's only getting some when he scores. She must have been walking like a duck on Sunday

Full time. 1:0. Job done. Nice one lads. A strong start to the season.
-
Indeed he was
-
4 would be fantastic, but I'll take a safe 2:0. There's plenty of time for us to go top
-
Missed most of the 1st half getting Master Paws to bed but happened to come downstairs at just the moment Shola scored before going back up. Have I missed much else ?
-
Just bumping this radio stream for non locals. I just get Jazz
-
Just a shame the players understood neither of them. What did I miss here?
-
Because Ashley's a fat, greedy bastard? At the risk of getting shot here - I can sort of understand it from MA's perspective. MA is trying to sell the club and get his money out too. Why pay off the debt when you can leave it to someone else, and make sure you get as much of your money back as you can. At the end of the day, circa £20mil is not a small chunk of change. I'm not saying I'm happy about it, but lets be a little bit realistic here. With a business head on, it makes more sense for MA (for MA's best interests) to do this. Hell, if Moat's offer is £20mil short of what he wants, but still stands after the sale of Baye, Oba and Bassong; then there's the shortfall sorted. MA doesnt want to be here, but he wants to leave with as much of his money as he can, which is understandable really. That said - I'm not defending him, just pointing out the other perspective. *don's kevlar*

I'd take Campbell in a heartbeat. Regardless of whether or not we sell Colo/Saylor etc. He'd cost us nowt and we dont have to pay him loads. He'd provide cover, could/should play alongside Saylor and might even help to sort Colo out should we keep him. Only need to give him a 1yr contract with the option of a 2nd.
