£10m bid for Bassong from Spurs turned down.

*taps a few keys. CTRL-S, upload, done* Don't care what he calls himself now, that should slow him down a bit - might even give him a more obvious hint too -
Keith Harris: Club may be sold this month, but not by our first game
maggiespaws replied to Amir's topic in Newcastle Forum
The so-called embargo was self-imposed by Ashley wasn't it? I.e. not worth the fag packet it was written on. Ah, was it? That makes more sense then. Thing is, if that is the case, why haven't sales of many of our high earners not been expedited? Surely he will just be looking at this short-sightedly in the sense that he needs to get the costs down and fuck the long term stability idea (it will be someone else's problem). The longer he leaves player sales, the less he will get as people know we need to get the wages bill down. He's more likely to be forced into accepting a stupid price at the end of the summer as he'll be more desperate to get the running costs down. Christ, that has me analysing it all again. I'm honestly not excited about the coming season..... at all. -

I've become numb to all of this now. As has been said - too many false dawns. I've resigned myself to the fact that this will not get sorted out inside the next 4 months never mind the start of the season. I just hope that when it does get sorted out, there is time to rescue the season. I don't think MA is hangin on out of spite, nor to I buy the argument that he'll use it as an excuse to not spend any money over the summer. For a start, wasn't / isn't there some kind of bank imposed embargo on players? I think MA is hanging on to try and squeeze as much as he can out of the deal to recoup as much of this original investment as possible. He's been bleeding money for the last 6 months or so in all of his businesses and is reportedly worth a qtr of what he was 12months ago is he not? He wont sell on the cheap, but the longer he holds out the less chance there is of anyone meeting his price imo. If we start the season badly (as I expect us to) then we will be worth even less come Jan; when the next realistic opportunity will be for the deal to have been completed. -
Hell yeah! You all know my plan

Actually, I owe Stevie an apology Just deleteing the emails I get from this thread and I've re read the earlier comment. It's obvious The Fish mean that Stevie was going to murder Wykikitoon for not knowing what Dog was. It was nowt to do with me. The OOT thing is just a sore point for me and I guess I'm a bit 'sensitive' today The Charity Cup idea is a brilliant one. Don't know how feasible it would be as it would take a big chunk out of pre-season; especially if we involved all of Sir Bobby's clubs. Would be fantastic though.

Brown Ale. and Stevie is going to straight up murder you Why DOG? It reminds me of home. It's something I have always associated with Newcastle and NUFC, partly from our days when we were sponsored by Blue Star (family friends worked there too and helped brew it) and from when our kit carried the logo I suppose. I still have two bottles of the special edition Shearer Brown Ale. The Grandad collar shirt with the Brown Ale logo is still the best shirt we have ever had imo. Anyway, I digress. Wykikitoon - I can't believe you asked that question Maybe I am old after all?

Brown Ale. and Stevie is going to straight up murder you He can kiss my arse. I hate this OOT shit. I was born in Newcastle, I was raised in Newcastle and most of my family still lives in Newcastle and the surrounding areas. It's not like I can just jump on the Metro and go the SJP can I? Anyway, this is not the thread for this.

Steve's plan for this evening: 1 - Call in at the supermarket/offy on the way home and buy some Dog (a rarity for me) 2 - Get changed out of work clothes and into toon shirt 3 - Repeat step 2 on Mrs Paws and Master Paws 4 - After Master Paws has gone to bed (in his toon shirt) drink aforementioned Dog from a schooner (Mrs Paws has some old 1940's schooner shaped glasses given as a present from her Grandma; which I've always hated but now they have a purpose); raising a toast to Sir Bobby 5 - Repeat step 4 until Dog has gone. Not much of a plan, but there you have it.

I hope there is a some kind of funeral procession in Newcastle. Imagine the city awash with B&W shirts, lining the streets. We all need to wave him off. Christ I sound soft....

As people has said, True Legend and will be missed. I'm sat on a client site in Manchester and the day is going to drag now. At least he made it to the Charity match and got to see Shearer et al in action at SJP. Seems more fitting now that Shearer scored the winning goal. Genuinely feel like crap now I shall raise a glass to you tonight Sir. You brought me some of the best NUFC football I have ever witnessed.

Just bought: panasonic 42" G10: and to go with it BluRay Home Cinema: Oh yes

As I now live in Manchester, Master Paws was born here, and Mr's Paws side of the family are Citeh fans; that's sadly something I can possibly see myself doing should he wish to defect when he is older

This is one of our biggest problems imo. We have no chance in preparing/strengthening for the coming season as all our current players want out. They'll be sold for peanuts because everyone knows we can't command shit for players who clearly want out; let alone keep funding their wages. We'll have feck all to invest in the squad - not that it will matter because this will be yet another transfer window where we will ultimately make money. MA will pocket it all and we will be left with an unprepared, under-strength squad; no manager; no plan and as ever - no fucking idea what's going to happen next. I have more chance of getting a shag off Keeley Hawkes than NUFC have of bouncing back up next season. *Mind you, if I was given the choice of the two, we'd probably still be a championship club next season Soopafan I am not :|

The event is today at 3pm. Stu and his missus got down there last night and stayed over as they had an early start. I'm posting updates as the day goes on which you can read on Pyxisoft's Blog if anyone is interested. P{hoto's will be added to the flickr stream too which are linked to the site. The last photo I added was taken from the balcony. It's mental when you look at how many drummers there are and not everyone has arrived yet! 600 have signed up with a further 150 on standby. It's going to be loud:rimshot:

Someone's covered his Orange Rocker30 in Pink Shagpile and then sold it to Marvellous Merv and his Magictones EDIT: That joke would make more sense if I got the band name right - Murph and the Magictones

Then again, 360 owners didn't get that extra chapter and new maps which where included in the first Gears PC. Justice. Yeah, but I'm sure they'll tart them up and release them as 'new' like they've done with a lot of the existing DLC for GoW2. This new pack that's coming out will apparently contain the rest of the GoW1 maps (the ones not already released for GoW2) again, tarted up a little along with 2 new ones. I wish they'd concentrate on releasing proper new content instead of ripping us off by tarting up stuff we've already paid for. Having said all that, I'll still end up buying it, I fucking know I will

I've been listening to the self titled album by new band Chickenfoot. For those who don't know who they are; they are a group of little known musicians from different bands/backgrounds to form a rock band. Sammy Hagar (ex-Van Halen) - Vocals, Michael Anthony (ex-Van Halen) - Bass & backing vocals, Chad Smith (Red Hot Chilli Peppers) - Drums and Joe Satriani - Guitar. Currently listening/watching their video podcast which talks about each song on the album - 12 Days of the Foot. Mad Bastids I could have sworn there was a 'devil horns' rock smiley. Must be getting my forums mixed up

I, like many others, am in the 'I'll believe it when it happens' camp. I'm actually finding that the more I think about it, the more frustrating it gets - so I'm just not wasting the effort thinking about it. I just don't believe any of the shite that comes out of Lardarse's mouth anymore. Cynically, I just view each statement as some method of them trying to flush out the buyers and hawk the price up. Whilst this has benefits to us, it also has a few negatives- such as dragging the sale on ad infinitum. A quick sale would mean more pre-season prep time and more stability. It could also mean a cheap sale price and an owner with less funds (or a wealthy owner getting us at a Sports Direct price and having more money to spend). Bah, you see, you've started me off again, walking around my circle of frustration -
Noises down here are that it's £60k/game plus a payment for each goal.

Radio here in Mancland running the story. WTF? If SAF can get him playing it would be a great deal (for them and him). Free transfer and I'll bet he has to take a pay cut. Knowing our luck he'll be top scorer next season and bang in 5 when we play them in the cup.

The night before Oasis they were at the Academy and played a full setlist but because they were only supporting Oasis they couldn't do everything. Yeah, I understand that - and did so at the time. I just couldn't understand why they played so many of their new, unknown tracks and left out so many of the really good ones. The crowd were really up for it - the response when they played LSF etc showed it; but it went flat when they played another of their 'unknowns'. Maybe I'm also a little gutted they didn't play a couple of my favourites - including Test Transmission
