Thought you'd like that Me and my Dad are going and staying over. I'm sure much ale will be had too. Yeah, got the Shepherds Bush one too although I've not listened to it in a little while. I seem to keep coming back to this one. Maybe its because this was the tour I saw. The SB gig is the recording where he bursts into Dazed and Confused halfway through one of his own tracks isn't it? He did it when I saw him too

India Mountain Time (Joe Bonamassa) - Live From Nowhere in Particular. This is a really lovely live version. Fucking awesome when I saw him play it live last year. Looking forward to the gig in Llandudno in Nov

aye, I know pet. Next time were all up north I promise we'll meet up. Time got too tight last time. I need to meet the little fella too I'd been hoping to go for a beer with pud last time too. X

Agree - that's OTT. After such a long trip, you'd want to break it up with a wander round the city. Hell, part of the away day experience for me is having a beer with the opposition fans, or at least talking to them. I can't help but think that those fans would be more likely to get upset due to them being crammed on coaches for so long.

These are there for the taking imo. We should be going at teams home or away. We can always go defensive later in the game if we need to. I'd go with the team above swapping Butt for Nolan. 2:0 us

Some nice choices of LZ tracks there MF. The 2nd in particular highlights his ability imo (the 1st is a more obvious choice given his solo). I'm off for some 'How the West was Won' then I think I might follow with some of Joe Bonamassa's new album/other stuff (assuming I dont have a better idea in the meantime )

Listened to Lynryd Skynryd's new album earlier and it starts off good but gets worse imo. Meandered through some ACDC, Aerosmith, GnR and Free and now I'm at: Steel Panther's new album: Hair-metal-tastic and funny as fuck. Loads of obvious references and influences, but thats the point - they're clearly fans of Iron Maiden, Bon Jovi and Whitesnake (to name but a few). Will listen to some Led Zep later in memory of Mr Bonham (not that I need an excuse). After that, it's wherever the code fairies take me (see above for their recent handiwork).

Hey congrats again! I remember you had your 1st just after mine. My second is due at the end of October. Really? Nice one mate, apologies if I missed you announcing it - I didn't know. I remember when we were swapping emails about stuff I never thought I'd be talking about. Here were are again Muslin cloths...... you.can.never.have.too.many

EDIT: I should point out, God probably hates me for various reasons, but any punishment has nowt to do with me expecting a 2nd bairn - just thought I'd clear that up after I re-read my own post.

Aye, there's definitely something. Clearly it's the fault of football. After all, 3 months ago, the season had finished, we all knew we had feck all to look forward to and there was nowt on the TV (Ashes? pah!). Thanks for the messages I can laugh about it now, but for the last 6 or so weeks I've been a little worried. Lisa started to show quite quickly and by quite a bit (considering how far gone she is). Now, the logical answer was that as this is our 2nd, stomach muscles don't have quite the same stiffness (ooh-er) they used to and therefore are more pliable and co-operative when it comes to making room for baby. However, there is a history of twins on Lisa's side of the family, which has skipped the last 2 generations. Also, Lisa's approaching mid-thirties; where it's most common. Combine those 3 traits with the fact that God clearly hates me and you'll see where I'm coming from. Now, we have a Ford Puma as our 2nd car - which I end up driving (Matt has deemed my car "Mummy's car" because she drives it so much) and it wont take a 2nd car seat due to the scooped rear seats. So I need to sell it before BabyG mk2 arrives. However, if were we having twins, I'd also need to sell my car (BMW 320) because it won't fit 3 car seats in the back. FFS, I was going to have to buy a people carrier! I'm only 32 man! Went for the scan and when the sonographer started doing her thing, there was this ominous dark area to the above and right of the baby I could see on the screen - the sort of dark area that was itself, baby sized. I'll be honest with you, I wasn't panicking, but my arse was going a little bit like a rabbit's nose at this point. Lisa was all exited at seeing the pictures and I was doing the Dad thing and checking for the flicker on the screen which signified a heartbeat, counting arms and legs and looking at the shape of the spine (or is that just me?). Anyway, 45secs must have passed and I still hadn't asked the question. Just as the words were filling my mouth Lisa asked "There's just one in there, isn't there?". "Yes" came the reply and with it, more than just a little relief for me

Yeah, I thought that. THe figures were so close, that it could have gone either way. After all, they weren't all exposed to exactly the same environment, some will have been in environments where contracting the disease was more probable. On top of that, how many will have taken the risk of catching the disease because they were 'on the vaccine'? Trial participants are 'blind' to which treatment they are getting. Good point - didn't think of that.

After reading about Pud's announcement, it's occured ot me I've not told you all that Mrs Paws and I are expecting our 2nd baby next year. I didn't want to say anything until we got past the 12 week mark - then just plain forgot Anyway, we had the 12week scan last week and all looks well for Baby Paws mk2

Unfortunately on the other side of the coin, I have many memories of taking our son in 3 monthly for new shoes, cost a fortune to us back then But I had to look after his little tootsies and get correctly fitting shoes as he had wide feet Aye, I'm doing that now. £30/pair a pop. I'll be doing it for two next year

Peterborough United 2-0 Newcastle United (League Cup R3)

I'm a bit disappointed we lost to them, but in the grand scheme of things it's a blessing I guess. I think we were lucky those 1st teamers came through injury free as that is the most important thing. However, I echo the sentiments about Guthrie. He and Smith should have been nowhere near that team unless we wanted to win the game and if that was the case, we should have started with a full strength team and nailed them. Doesn't excuse Guthries petulance like. The yellow for kicking the ball away was stupid. -
Congratulations to you both mate. I'd say, this now means you have to grow up and be sensible, but fuck that
-
Without question, Smith and Guthrie. Guthrie does ok on the right too - in which case I'd do Jonas - Smith - Nolan - Guthrie. Barton clearly isn't interested. Shame, as he's got talent; but if he's not going to put the effort in, he's no use.

I've been looking at the Satnav apps and by all accounts, the TomTom app gets mixed/bad reviews. At only £26, CoPilot is apparently the bollocks. Might be my next purchase from iTunes. Anyone on here used either/both?

Harbour Master looked boring when I read about it, but you lot raved about it so I gave it a go....... it ranks with Jaffa Cakes in the addictive stakes. Only had a couple of goes on iBomber so the jury is out as yet. On a differet note - I picked up Mrs Paws white iPhone yesterday. I'm pleased I got the black one - I much prefer it.

I liked the single player in CoD4, but hated the MP. GoW1 was much better. I actually own CoD5 but I've still never got round to opening the seal! (got a dead cheap through an internet deal). By all accounts, it's crap, so I don't think I'll even bother with CoD6. I know about the differences in the publishers etc, just think I'm done with the franchise. I dont play on my xbox that much so I'm becoming really picky about games now. EDIT: Found this posted on the above article -

United To Wear Special Sir Bobby Shirt At Ipswich

I dont see why we needed a wake up call tbh. It's not like we were being delusional. I'd agree that the wins were papering over the cracks, but we were bound to lose at some point. We've managed to muddle through the last couple of games whist missing key players, but I think Smith was perhaps the straw that broke the camel's back. We were missing to many of our key players, and some of our others failed to perform. THe 5Live commentators seemed to think that Barton was playing some neat stuff, but there was no-one getting on the end of it? I'd be interested to hear what someone at the match thought of that. Nolan was quiet as was Guthrie I think - both key players for us. In the grand scheme of things, it's not the end of the world. We lost to a side who battled harder and were on us from the word go. I'd say it was a game we should have won, but they are a strong side at home as their record shows. Smith is back next game and the balance to midfield should be restored a little.
-
Exactly, look at Cardiff. Three games ago they were joint top. A win for them tonight will close the gap though.
-
Big win for Blackpool. Not the end of the world for us. We definitely missed Smith today and I think we are really missing Guti too as he seems to at least offer a threat going forward (even if his crossing is miss more than hit). Geremi is fucking useless. I can only assume he can get himself into an offside position because he's still trying to track back from the previous attack. That seemed to be his only contribution whilst on the pitch. We have nothing to offer on the right wing and little more on the left atm.

This for me. Having said that, when I consider that players might have been playing for the shop window, my optimism for Sunday falters. It could be argued that our start to the season has been down to players playing well to engineer a move; rather than Hughton's influence. Still, I'm inclined to bellive he's been working hard and it's paying off. Fair play to him. how negative are you ffs ? ''playing for the shop window'' - why is it that no one seems to accept that the group of players left, are determined to atone for relegation last season ? it is so easy to brand all players as uncaring, greedy etc - some might just have a semblance of pride and dignity and want to repay the fans for the support that they got in the bad times. why not try and believe that or is that just too ''positive'' for you ?? Tbf, I wasn't being that negative. If you are going to pick on something/someone being negative; at least make sure it's negative enough to deserve a 'ffs' That might be because some of them have had the balls to come out and say that they dont want to play in this division. Maybe it's also because we also know that MA has been trying to sell as many of his expensive assets as possible. Maybe it's also because it doesn't take a genius to work out that if you know you are being peddled to anyone who'll take you, then you want to put yourself in the best light so as to get to the best club you can. Let me ask you these questions and please answer them honestly. 1. Is Joey Barton still here because he wants to atone for his part in the relegation, or rather because he's an expensive £60k/wk, ineffectve player with too much baggage. 2. Is Collocini still here because he wants to atone for his part in the relegation, or is it because he's a calamity prone defender no one can afford to buy because he comes with a huge £80k/wk wage plus his leech-like expensive agent? 3. Is Guti still here because he wants to atone for his part in the relegation, or because he doesn't offer enough to justify his wages either? 4. Is Geremi not here because he's too fucked to go anywhere else and @ £60k/wk he's on too cushy a number to move elsewhere 5. Not sure what Butt's on, but the Geremi reason applies wouldn't you agree? The players that reportedly did want to stay and atone, managed to get sold did they not and without too much of a fight from them (not that I think there was much they could do). Many of the ones we are left with, are those which MA tried and failed to sell during the window. Some of those have the heart to get on with the job they are paid to do and fair play to them. Others will not. In fairness, I said "when I consider", "might have been playing" and "could be argued". I was just putting across an alternative view. During the same post after the above comments I also said (but don't let this get in the way of you calling me negative btw) . I've even left my typo in for completeness. Also, if you've read anything else I've posted recently (including partially defending you in another thread) you would have seen I thought we'd win today, even with the injuries to some of our key players. That's really negative isn't it.
