*hovers his finger over the "Fucking Ban Him" button * Yeah, I get that every now and again - there is a story to my screen name, which I generally have to trot out every time someone makes the above comment. I think we're on about the 4th / 5th incarnation of this board now, after a couple of db crashes, domain problems etc. I originally posted as 'Magpie' as that's a screenname I always used. During one of the board crashes, some other poster registered as that name before I did and so I had to think of a new name. I have a cat called Maggie, who likes to sit on my desk next to my PC when I'm working from home. As I was sat trying to think of a new screen name Maggie was sat on the desk in her usual spot. She got up and walked across the keyboard (something she rarely does 'cos she gets chucked off ther desk for doing so) typing a load of shit into the name field. It gave me the idea for maggiespaws. Shite really and I've often considered changing it for one of my other screen names (cybermag); but maggiespaws is always a name/login that is available and to be honest, it's kind of stuck. Most people (including myself) tend to shorten it to just 'paws'. Oh and AccaDacca, you've just given another great example of why your optimism is blind and unrealistic. The idea that 'if' we get sufficient injuries we can just dip into loans to sort us out and still come up champions is fucking mental frankly. Pass over what you're smoking, I think you need a break. -

Fish is right. I'm generally an optimistic sort of bloke and that optimism has been bouyed by our frankly blinding start. However, my gut feeling is that we're about to hit an element of realism now as some players may have been playing for a move. Acca's problem is his optimisim is indeed blind, or perhaps better put as unrealistic at best. Having said all of that, I don't mind him really. He's at one end of the spectrum, and we need him to counter balance the misterable, gloom and doom feckers at the other end He can get a little tedious though, as can those at the other end of the spectrum. -
This for me. Having said that, when I consider that players might have been playing for the shop window, my optimism for Sunday falters. It could be argued that our start to the season has been down to players playing well to engineer a move; rather than Hughton's influence. Still, I'm inclined to bellive he's been working hard and it's paying off. Fair play to him.

Can we win this game, hell yes. That's my feeling when we approach any game and that's not some misguided belief or that I suffer from AccaSpacca Syndrome (hereby known as ASS). We can certainly lose this game too. They are playing well at the minute and are one of the strongest teams in the league. We have lost some of our better players - those better players which helped us to get an away draw with WBA (one of the other strong teams in the league IMO). Without Guti and Shola, our attack is weakened, but Carroll will be back and wanting to score. He needs to get his name on the sheet whilst Shola is out so as not to get overshadowed. I think Guthrie will be important for us as will Nolan. Saylor will keep tabs on Chops and Chop's strike partner is out for the game anyway, so their in-form partnership will be broken. The insane optimist in me says 2:1 to us, but I'd settle for an away draw. Of course, now that I've said that the score will not doubt be 3:0 to them and Chopra will get all 3 -
I think I'll get me one of those! Very suave.

I seem to have inadvertantly started a plastic/silicone/rubber or leather argument...... ........ which in itself sounds a little gay, or certainly a bit twisted Ant - that casemate looks canny. Are they strong enough to withstand me accidentally dropping the phone as it slips out of my pocket?
-
Right, I'm convinced (not that it took much). Rung O2, and reserved the Black one and I'm picking it up tonight after work. I think I might get one of those moulded skins. Does that make them much bigger in your pocket? I know the missus wants a white one, but hers will live in her handbag. Mind you, if it has a skin on, the colour wont matter I guess.

Right, my bottom lip has officially gone. My toys are nearing the edge of my pram and the chances of me throwing a paddy are increasing exponentially by the minute. After being told I'd get my new iPhone yesterday but it was delayed; today was the day. Well, today came and they only received Black 16gb 3GS and not the White ones. I originally wanted a black one but was convinced by the girl in the O2 shop that white was the better option as it doesn't scratch anywahere near as much. Looks like Tuesday or Wednesday now. Bastards got me all excited, I've read this thread, browsed the apps store and even got the missus excited about hers too. I WANT IT NOW!!!!!!

Actually, if you look at the bloke on the left, he could actually be saying 'Thier only signing of course was Lovenkrands.' Just before the other bloke goes akka.

They never reached the heights of their first 3 albums (but few bands do), but I thought their recent stuff wasn't bad to be honest. They were great live (assuming you got the 'good' liam) and I've listened to the stuff Noel & Gem did live together and that was canny too. They are one of my favorite bands, but they came with a lot of baggage. I'd be interested to hear Noel solo/Noel & Gem. Was always on the cards though. Lian can't handle the fact his brother has all the talent. Meenz's lyrical quote is a case in point.

I worked in a chicken factory for 8 days. The smell was unreal. Took me a long time before I ate chicken again. They came in live and left in a plastic, cling film covered tray.

I can understand it when people get upset when dates are changed for TV (particularly if you've planned ahead), but as an OOT I love it when we're on. Admittedly, PNE would have been a day trip for me (and still might be) but if I can't/don't get a ticket then it's a great excuse to go to the pub

Nooooooo! The O2 store I'm dealing with hasn't received their stock of iPhones. Can't get mine until Sat now

Yeah, but itunes recognises that the ipod is synced with another pc though doesn't it? I'm sure I've tried that before. My 8gb ipod is set ot sync in that exact way and if I plug it into my work PC is askes to wipe it EDIT: Just had a thought - I have it set to sync certain playlists - I'll be that's why. I do manage manually, but certain playlists sync on connection. Will try that when I get home. Pick up the new iphone (hopefully) tonight - assuming the stock comes in. I had a nosey round the itunes store yesterday and there are loads of canny apps. Some nice stuff for guitars (tuners , chords etc) which will be nice. The TomTom software gets a mixed review... Might have to 'aquire' a copy and try before I buy

Sorry to drap up a post from 10 pages back but - can you explain more about the above That will be ace for syncing my iphone with my work and home PC's

Oh yes Yeah, she'll sync with my applestore account so that's perfect.

Now that I can tether the iphone without jaibreaking it I haven't found any reason to do so yet. Though if anyone knows of any essential reason why I should then please share. Cool, so I can tether it and use my U/L internet on the O2 contract on my laptop without jailbreaking or getting caned by O2? Mint Have a look at this http://www.engadget.com/2009/06/18/how-to-...t-jailbreaking/ Though if O2 catch you then they probably will charge you, just don't take the piss with the usage and you should be fine. Yeah, I figured as much. It's not something I would do often, but it's nice to have the option whilst on long journeys or for the odd client meeting. I have a 3 PAYG dongle which is for exactly those reasons, but it's crap.

I've not jailbroken mine. You can get other apps for it that haven't been approved by itunes, I've not seen anything worth doing it for yet though. You can unjailbreak. Sat Nav is out for it. Tom Tom have released one for £150 or so. I don't know anyone who has it. I have Parrot bluetooth in my car, syncs perfectly with the iphone, better than my nokia n series phone, which was a disaster. Wow, it's cheaper to buy a TomTom One! As for the bluetooth, I know what you mean. My Nokia N96 didn't play nice with my Nokia CK7W carkit, but apparently the iphone does.

You should be able to put your existing sim into the new iphone. I've done it with other phones in the past and in fact; Vodafone recognised you'd put your sim into a new device and sent you the operator settings via text. Which is handy. EDIT: Incidentally, that was when I put my Voda Sim into my mates old O2 phone so I could sent my phone to Voda for repair. I'm on their business contract (or will be) which is exactly the same deal whether you get an iphone or something else.

Just agreed a deal on 2 iphone 3GS' for me and Mrs Paws. Get mine Thursday and the 2nd one a couple of weeks after. Starting to get a little excited now (I like new toys). I'll read through this thread fully over lunch, but if someone can summarise what I should be looking at doing I'd appreciate it. I'm going to sync mine with my imap email accounts (Gmail), I can do contacts and calender using itunes; so the basic work stuff is covered. Is there a decent SatNav app with voice instructions? I heard one was rumoured, but I haven't read into it enough yet. Anyone used it with bluetooth carkits yet? Apparently it should be compatible with my Nokia CK7W's, but has anyone got 1st hand experience? A big question is, should I jailbreak and can I unjailbreak if I need to send it back (my cursory understanding is yes). I need to read into this more, but I thought I'd ask you all for a quick heads up
