  1. It's a fair article, something that seems to be happening to us more frequently of late. I agree it doesn't look good PR wise to ask for the money back but in fairness, I don't think it's fair on those who have paid the extra cash either if the club didn't. It's probably a no-win situation for the club as they would be dammed if they didn't release people from the 3yr deal, but I'm sure someone would have pointed out the fact those people had been allowed to save upwards of £50. Anyway, taking my 'on-the-fence' hat off, they've made the rod for their own backs. They gambled with the club and it hasn't paid off and now they are in the shit. Unfortunately, we're all in the shit with them. I should point out that I'm not a ST holder so none of this really applies to me. That's maybe why I can sit on the fence on this and see both sides. Some would argue I can't pass comment like Changing the subject away from the above line, the article points out the bit about the VAT reduction money. That's just typical really. I'm sure administratively it would be more costly to process the refunds, but the unwashed managed to do something positive with the money (buy local league shirts etc) whereas our lot just stuff it down the back of MA's sofa.
  2. The third one is the bollocks like Currently my work desktop. Nice one.
  3. Same for me. The earliest match I can remember was a 0:2 defeat to Chelsea. Was right down the front clinging onto the fence singing/yelling my head off. Can't remember the year. I think it must have been about 10 or something so prob 87 ish?
  4. That bit's really important for me. The shotgun really is poor compared to the first game. You cant shoot and run like in the first either.
  5. Horde is excellent just got to wave 50! fair play mate. with a team? I aint got past 38 online, usually some feckless individual leaves the camp then it's all over. Once you have done that you have the flashback maps on horde too lol There's the combustible maps too. I've completed Horde on all three now. Still not completed the game yet though Mind you, I only tend to get on the xbox on a friday night. Rarely at any other time during the week LOL i dont want to pay 800 for 3 maps In fairness, you get more than just 3 maps IIRC. There's other stuff too but I cant remember what it is (obviously made a lasting impression on me.....) Having said that though, I know what you mean. I bought the pack without looking at what I was getting. My brother and the lads I play with online had bought them, so I did so that we'd all have the same maps. Probably not the most value for money addon I've bought

  7. Yep, it's pretty bad like EDIT: as a result of the above, I'm now listening to the original, very loud
  8. I'd have suggested 4-3-3 too. My biggest concerns is the lack of creativity. I can't see Barton whipping in some decent balls. Part of me would have suggested moving Guti to where Barton is and put Duff on the left. However, Duff lives up to his name so I'd probably go with your 11. The Barton/Duff sub would be worth a shout at some point over the 90.
  9. Geremi for Carroll would have made more sense FFS
  10. Man Utd really getting a hold of the game now. Our midfield really need to get amongst them.
  11. Shame that. We were doing ok. Martins passing has been poor though
  12. commentators claiming lovenkrands lost his balance when duck-lip clearly put his arm across him
  13. It was the Evra tackle I've just heard. I reckon there might be more to come for the ronaldo /carrick tackles. Ronaldo went down like he'd been shot, but Taylor did smack him one. Fucking idiot
  14. We've rattled them and thats good. We've shown some balls too. Fergie will be giving it the hairdryer treatment now and I expect them to come out of the blocks. Still, if we can keep it tight for the 1st 15mins, we're in with a shout. We've got feck all to lose
  15. We're probably going to get dicked, but I see no reason to be defeatist about it. Life is much better with my 'Optimism tinted glasses' on. 0:0 at half time, we'll do a ManU and score the winner in the 96th minute. *takes another deep toke*
  16. So I hear. We're almost all the way through on Hardcore as you can't do Insane until you've completed the game on a lower level. Jumped straight in on hardcore because you also get all the achievement points for easy & medium once you complete it.
  17. Yeah, it's good like. Completed the 50 levels to get the achievement. I think I just have the last 10 waves on the combustible maps to complete now. Loving the co-op campaign too. I've actually stopped playing it on my own because I don't want to complete it without my brother (my co-op partner:D ).
  18. I've had two pairs of those in the past. They are nice like

    Catmag!

Aye, happy belated birthday pet. Good luck for the impending arrival.
  20. What? does one of you play the till operator and the other the not interested assistant who has to go get prices of things? And you have to wait for ages for it to load as you wait for twenty fucking students to pay for a fucking pack of crisps with a fucking cheque. haha. Sounds like you've played the same game Luke. It's got some bugs in it like. It's possible to refuse to serve certain customers even if they are waaay over 21.
  21. That might hamper his ability to train and play will it not?
  22. Ant, Ok, I referred to the blank page because that was what it was currently doing before I removed it. I take your point about the dead hosts etc. As for picking me up on the secondary feature, how do you know this exploit wasn't designed to do anything more than insert some links into the footer? Is there something you're not telling us... Basically, the code I removed was doing more than just inserting the links and it wasn't part of the core installation either, so I'm not convinced an upgrade would have picked it up. The upgrade will prevent the same attack being successful as it should close that hole, but I was worried the exploit itself may have remained post-upgrade. Perhaps I was a little vague when I referred to the server. I didn't mean taking over the whole server (the access permissions only limit us to our space and you are quite right, that can't be escalated to anything outside of that). However, the information being returned to the remote host could have been used for other purposes. Anyway, thanks for the heads up on where to find the footer code. You're right, the chances of actually getting pulled up for removing it are slim, but for now I'll just change it so that it's not how it currently is.
  23. Sounds like it all went well - I'm pleased. Keep chipping away
  24. i'm pretty sure no "bastards" were involved and it's simply just a worm who goes to the bother/expertise to exploit something, install backdoors and rootkits etc... then installs adware that doesn't even point to a live host. you'd need to be the worst hacker in the world =D In fairness Ant, there was the bastards who wrote the worm in the first place and those who initiated this particular instance - which is who I was referring to . I know the worm crawls around the web looking for vulnerable installs of the software, but it's doing it for a purpose and on behalf of a real person. The adware etc is just one aspect of the attack. The secondary function of such an attack is usually to compromise the server and use it to propagate further attacks on other servers / installs. Granted, the chances of someone ever actually logging on are somewhat remote, but leaving the code floating around, somewhere in the system, particularly when it may (and was) attached to an aspect of the software unlikely to to be overwritten by the upgrade is just foolish. In one of your earlier posts, you (quite rightly) suggested removing the version number. We can't (and I tried anyway) as it is part of the licence agreement and the software actually prevents you from removing it. I had hoped to replace it with something similar - just without the version. The only way we can remove it is by buying the permission to do so at a cost of $275. Besides, just because it was pointing to a blank page doesn't mean it wasn't doing anything. The blank page is a nice way of remaining undetected (that is, before the AV's catch on and report it) whilst feeding data back to the remote host.
