  1. GoW2 is fucking mint. I don't get to play on my 360 much - especially now I have a bairn. Friday night is 'Fight Night' online though (until silly o'clock am). Me, my bro and a bunch of online mates. Quality. Having the ability to add bots to a match rather than suffer defeat at the hands of a 12yr old yank is good too. Loving the chainsaw duels. Dom's in game comments are class too
  2. 30 million parachute payment for going down? wtf have I missed here?
  3. To be fair to Stroller, it's not his fault we are in the state we are in.
  4. It was clearly Terry's fault as well. Yet Carson gets blamed? Mental
  5. I'm normally (irritatingly) optimistic. No matter how you look at this, in our current state; we are totally fucked. If things don't change, we're going down. I can see players leaving in Jan and we aren't in a position (not just in the league) to attract the right replacements. We need a few good results between now and christmas; and the sale to be sorted or we wont attract (or keep hold of) anyone of real worth. Having said all of that, I can't bring myself to 100% believe we are totally screwed. We can turn it around, there are teams (on paper) who are worse than us and we are getting players back from injury. It's not going to be an easy season though.
  6. Joe Bonamassa - Live from Nowhere in Particular. Saw him live on Monday night and he was absolutely class. Even my Dad said he was the dogs nuts - and he's notoriously difficult to 'wow' when it comes to people playing live.
  7. Yeah, just re-read your earlier post I was supposed to see him on Sunday night. Didn't find out till around an hour before the doors opened. Managed to stop my Dad leaving the house in time - he had an hours journey in the car to the gig. Mine's been rescheduled for the 17th (Mon) Nov, although I guess you're also reliant on the availability of the venue. Currently listening to: Joe Bonamassa - If Heartaches were Nickels (A New Day Yesterday - Live)
  8. Were you supposed to go to the Manchester Academy gig? So was I! Are you going to make it to the rescheduled date?
  9. 1. We had a band powerful enough to turn goat piss into gasoline. 2. It's 106 miles to Chicago, we got a full tank of gas, half a pack of cigarettes, it's dark, and we're wearing sunglasses. Hit it. From probably my favourite film of all time.
  10. In The Night Garden - Now that is some fucked up trippy shit. Bearing in mind, this is aimed at pre-school children: Makka Pakka has OCD. He likes to spend his days cleaning and re-arranging stones - he even sleeps with one. Thats when he's not washing the other inhabitants of the Night Garden with is special (piles doughnut shaped) sponge. Upsy Daisy wants to get it on with Iggle Piggle at every available opportunity. She even has he bed follow her around so she can sleep where she likes. Iggle Piggle is always the last one to go to bed because he's too busy trying to find out where Upsy Daisy has parked up for the night. The harhoo's and the Titifers are the product of too much acid. The Tombliboo's pant's fall down far too easily and frequently - it's like a love-in in their bush with all the kissing and hugging. They even leave their pant's hanging outside on the line to let the others know not to disturb them. The Pontypines have serious bowel problems and should visit a doctor. Every time they move they fart and must be hereditary as the same affliction has befallen their 8 kids (seriously, how did they have 8 kids? The sex must have been awful with all the farting). The poor Wattingers never leave their house as they are afraid to be seen near the Pontypines. On the subject of farting, the Pinky Ponk is a farting zeppelin. WTF? British Rail should take note of the Ninky Nonk though, now that is a speedy train. We'd all get to where we needed to be in no time at all if we travelled on the Ninky Nonk. Mind you, we'd all die in the process like and we'd spend half the journey stuck up a tree. Have I missed anything out? EDIT: Matthew loves it
  11. ditto Me too. Did it whilst getting a mid-morning bottle together for the nipper and feeding it to him. Who says men can't multi-task Nae doubt you'll be flogging them for a fortune.....you bastard!!!! i gave 4 tickets away for free for the oasis gig in belfast on wed #1 because i don't like em and #2 i have tickets for Dylan Moran on the same night =D What were you doing with 4 tickets for a band you had no intention of going to see (when said tickets were like rocking horse shit). Me thinks I smell a tout
  12. ditto Me too. Did it whilst getting a mid-morning bottle together for the nipper and feeding it to him. Who says men can't multi-task Nae doubt you'll be flogging them for a fortune.....you bastard!!!! Yeah, I bought 6 tickets and I plan to make a mint selling 4 of them on ebay Na, bought them for me, mrs paws, and a few others. Looking forward to it. Can't make my mind up if I like their new album yet though. Still, it will be my 4th time seeing Oasis, so I must like something
  13. ditto Me too. Did it whilst getting a mid-morning bottle together for the nipper and feeding it to him. Who says men can't multi-task
  14. I hope we bastards win on Monday and Saturday
  15. Scumbag? Fuck off. Read my previous posts. I'll tell you what, here's the whole, unabridged story. I went on to buy 3 standing tickets for me, wor kid and my dad. I bought two (the max allocation per card) and I had my mate hitting the same sites to make sure I got the third. As he went through his transaction, he'd been allocated his single ticket request, the seetickets site went down (whilst validating my credit card). We had no idea if I had the ticket or not. So we went on and tried again. Got a single ticket, site fucked up at exactly the same stage. Went to try a 3rd time and the standing tickets were gone. At this point I have no idea if I have just 2 (the two I successfully bought from ticketline), 3 or 4 standing tickets. Given that I need 3 tickets (1 for ME, 1 for MY brother and 1 for MY dad) I have a problem. There were some side seats left on wayahead.com (the lesser known, parent company of see tickets). My Dad's words were exactly "I'd rather sit on my own and see ACDC than not at all". A sentiment echoed by myself. So I bought the side seat. 10 mins later I get an email telling me I have a side-seat ticket. 15mins later I get an email saying I've bought a single standing ticket for ACDC. 2 mins after that I get an email telling me I have 2 x standing tickets for ACDC (the very first transaction which went through successfully - it was on a different site though - ticketline). The 2nd standing ticket either didn't go through, or was cancelled because the 1st standing and the seat had cleared and that made my allocation of 2x tickets for that card. I bought the seat because I didn't know if I had the 3rd standing ticket or not (despite 2 attempts to buy it). I didn't buy the seat ticket to rip people off. If I'd wanted to do that, I would have bought a pair as they are more valuable. So, before you get on your high horse and start preaching to people about what they should and shoudn't do; listen/read the fucking story first and then make a judgement. Otherwise, fuck off and keep your mouth shut. As it happens, I'm still waiting to find out if my brother's workmate needs a ticket or not. They were all out on the piss last night and wor kid isn't answering the phone. If he wants it - it's his for the price I paid for it. ... you utter bastard paws, why didn't you hunt down your brothers workmate on his night out and ram the ticket into his pocket while you sucked him off? what kind of shady fucker are you anyway?! That just made me proper laugh out loud. There's bloody wine (fuck off before anyone makes a wise crack) on my keyboard now ya bastid. Touch too much - ACDC
  16. Just read the rest of the thread. Fook me, I seem to have started something. Let me be clear. I didn't buy the ticket with the intention of selling it on (I think we've established that now - thanks Tom & Fish btw). I am actually looking to sell it to someone I know first and not at a profit. I love going to gigs myself (none since the bairn arrived ) so I understand Ant's grief about touts. However, if I can't sell to anyone I know who might want a ticket (I have 2 other mates I will try if my bro's mate doesn't want it), then I'm sorry but it's going on ebay. As long as I sell it for how much I paid for it I don't care how much it goes for. By that I mean, I'm not looking to sell it for £165 or whatever they go for on ebay with buy it now; it ends where it ends. As Mrs Paws pointed out yesterday night (as I was cleaning the bairns puke off the carpet) if I make money on the ticket then Matthew needs some new baby vests/jumpers/anything else she can think of. I'll buy that stuff anyway, but I'm sure whatever I would make off selling the ticket on ebay would be spent elsewhere on anyone/anything other than me. I can live with that, and so will the person that bought the ticket off me.

  18. Yeah I know, but call me soft - it feels a bit wrong! I'm as entrepreneurial as the next man (more so I suppose) but gig tickets at stupid prices for fans is wrong. I was listening to Rock Radio in Mancheser on Friday and they had a phone in which lasted for most of the afternoon on the subject of the shambles that was the ACDC ticket sale. I'm proper made up I've got the tickets I needed but can understand the fans who are gutted they missed out. The tickets sold out in under 20mins I think. I'm still waiting to find out if my brothers workmate needs the ticket or not. Apparently he's trying to go with a gang of his mates.
  19. Fook me! A single seated ticket is going for between £165 and £199 on ebay!
  20. Erm, dunno, not thought about it really. I guess it'd be worth a shedload on ebay. I've paid about £50 I think - face value is £40, but then they add their ridiculous charges on top. The other tickets I bought were for standing. I had 2 tickets confirmed but the site died whilst we were buyng the other standing ticket. I ended up buying the seat ticket just in case I hadn't got the 3rd standing ticket.
  21. No. The 9th Nov this year @ The Manchester Acedemy 1. The ACDC gig is next year man! Incidentally, because of ticket booking issues, I've ended up with a spare ACDC ticket. It's a single side seat. Dunno where, I just bought what was available. Its going spare though. EDIT: I understand now. I've mistyped above. The Airbourne/Stone Gods gig is 8th Nov and the JB gig is 9th Nov.
  22. Wor kid has recently bought us tickets to see Airbourne/Stone Gods on 8th Sept I've just bought tickets to see Joe Bonamassa on 9th Sept and this morning I bought tickets to see ACDC in April oh, and my new Nokia N96 arrived this morning too New toys, new toys
  23. Onecare is just the antivirus. You shouldn't need this. Your laptop needs to be running either windows vista (Home Premium or Ultimate) if you want to stream video IIRC. If you are just looking at streaming music and pictures, then I think you can get away with XP as long as you are running Windows Media Player 10. Basically, it uses Windows Media Centre to handle the streaming with is built into the Home Premium and Ultimate versions of Vista. You can also use Windows Media Centre 2005 OS. There are a load of help files on the xbox forum
  24. Thanks for your reply. The box my Dad has is not an HD box, but the standard sky+ box. He's had it for over 12 months. I don't know what software version he is on - I can find out and tell you if that would help. We tried several ways of connecting all the kit together, but it didnt help. I even tried adjusting the delay settings on the Panasonic home cinema amp. I tried running the sky+ box directly into the tv (via scart) and the home cinema (HC) via hdmi. I also tried running the sound from the sky+ into the back of the HC using red+white phono leads. Still no joy. In the end, we sent the HC back as it was covered with a money back agreement so we got the cash back. The idea now is to work out ifwe were doing anything wrong, and/or find out what we could buy that would work I didnt try connecting using a optical lead as I dont have one. Apparently some different menu appears on the sky box if you plug one in. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
  25. Yeah He also plays Dazed and Confused during one song. He's not ripping people off he's just influenced. Yeah, I've heard the cover - he nails the solo well in that. I wasn't accusing him of ripping it off, just wondering if anyone else had spotted the similarity? Wasn't sure if I was just imagining it sounded like WS/BMS. I like his stuff - particularly live. On the 'Live at the Cabooze' cd he plays 'The River' & 'Burning Hell' which I believe I may have already referred to as 19mins of slide guitar pr0n. EDIT: Now listening to 'The River' & 'Burning Hell' from the aforementioned CD. Loud, before the Mrs comes in with Master Paws. I haven't heard 'Live at the Cabooze' but I may download it unless you want to Rapidshare it or something. You should check out the Rock Palast DVD - it's probably my favourite live DVD. It's at a small place in Germany with maybe 500 people there and a low stage - so it's fairly intimate. He basically uses it as a show piece to go through all his different styles - so it's fairly good. I'm not sure if you can buy it anymore - jbonamassa.com might have a few but if not I will rip it and upload it. You get a good look at the Gigliotti signature guitar too - he's moved onto a Gibson Les Paul signature now which looks good and retails for less. I was tempted to get a Gigliotti but the options confused me - like choosing fret style and what kind of nut you want Give me 1/2 an hour and I'll stick it on my server. I'll pm you the link. I dont have a DVD of him, just the audio versions of his live gigs and his studio stuff. EDIT: I also have the Rock Palast gig on mp3. Its a good like Thats the one with The River & Burning Hell on it. I was wrong earlier when I said 'Live at the Cabooze'.
