He inherited a side that had came 4th, 3rd and 5th in the 3 previous seasons and he's moaning about not having enough money to build a team even though he spent £50m on making us far worse than we were before. the fact that I've heard of him in a positive way bodes well for him but I can't comment on his suitableness for the english game

tbf he's englands number 10 and I wouldn't put the arm band on him for any side, he's a poacher the kind of player that needs to be selfish and not neccesarily in the game all the time, I much prefer captains to be leaders from somewhere, CBs and CMs make the best captains for me

for us next season, assuming dyer is competent as an attacking fullback, I'd rotate him/solano depending on the opposition and who they'd be facing dyer for his pace supporting right wing against a fairly poor attacking side and solano when we need someone a bit more reserved going forward when playing better sides/sides with more potent wingers. That said I'd prefer we get a proper right back in but LB and CB are more pressing matters IMO
