You're like a Hip Hop DJ scratching a broken record on Groundhog day you Blend! You keep banging on about "selling our best players", who do you mean?? Cos from where i am sat every player that has gone has been replaced with someone as good as, if not better! (Can't say that definitely about Santon and Enrique yet granted, however can you say he's not??) If "they" managed to do this with younger, cheaper players on less wages then why? (And this is the kicker) Why should anyone be upset about that? We got rid of Carroll, so what?? He's not that great mate, and i prefer the football we have played since getting shot of him to be honest. AND we got £35 million for him, anybody would be a mug to refuse to sell him for that. We got rid of Nolan, so what?? He's not that great either, and i would certainly rather have Cabaye alongside Tiote. We got rid of Barton, so what?? I'd rather have a united squad and solid team spirit (and I bet you Neil Warnock would as well now!!), he knocked a good dead ball, but so does Cabaye and Raylor, and as he was playing out on the right before he left I'd rather have Ben Arfa/Obertan. Plus with Barton there is always his next temper tantrum lurking in the background. Enrique decided he didnt want to stay here, so what?? Again I'd rather have a squad that pulls in the same direction together, and although i'd like to see Santon at right back in the long run he is looking canny at the minute (I'd say he has certainly started his NUFC career better than Enrique did) And before you read the next bit LM, remove all sharp objects from near you......... There's always a chance we'll get a new LB in the summer!! Honestly if you can't see that we have a better team now than we did before we "Sold all our best players" than what i suspect will be true and there will have been more brains in your dad's wanking sock than in your head! It's not always the cleverest sperm that wins the race you know!! Who else is worth a mention?? Obafemi Martins? (Pffffft) Habib Beye (Another who thought the grass would be greener) Damien Duff??? Geremi?? Routledge?? Who is it exactly that you are weeping your little eyes out over constantly (and very repetitively) -
Why does Cabaye get a 3 match ban and not Warnock? Cabayes was intentional but softer, whereas Warnock's was reckless but infinitely more dangerous so it will be bizarre if (and when,) the FA do nothing
-
He was a little more than solid today in my opinion mate, if he'd done what he did today whilst wearing a Tiote shirt most people would have been purring over him. He's never going to be our best player, never, however given that he gets/has taken a lot of flak for his below par performances, i'd like to think he gets some credit for his better shifts. There was one point when he won three tackles in about 6 seconds, and showed grit and determination to get through each one, i thought that was without a doubt his best moment in a toon shirt
-
N ot getting carried away as it was one performance (plus 2 decent priors) but i thought he was excellent today. He made a high number of committed tackles, and broke up their play enough times to be applauded.
-
Can see a similarity in that Cole was constantly looking for the ball in behind, and so was Cisse. Very pacey, and showed a few great touches/passes/finishes! As ive said elsewhere he's brave as well.
-
haha, i said to my mate at the ground today that he reminded me of Oba, only because his leap is phenomenal, however his first touch was immense all game (Oba's wasnt!) so fully agree there
-
Perch was fuckin outstanding today, and i have been a huge critic of his, but i was pleasantly shocked by his performance today, and for the first time saw a useful player within his game.
-
tbf, his last two games have been better than ben arfa's last two. Fully agree mate, i personally think Ben Arfa has more skill, BUT in his last two games he has given the ball away so cheaply by trying to dribble all the time. Surely if you mix one/two touch football with your dribbling and mix it up you will create more space to dribble it?? I'd like to see Ben Arfa play one/two touch football for the first 20 mins of a game and go from there.
-
Fully agree mate, pretty sure the TV wouldnt have shown it the same. Every goal kick/throw in/time the fullbacks got possession/midfield got possession (basically constantly throughout game,) he made a good movement and was calling for the ball. I was seriously impressed by how much the guy wanted the early ball and was prepared to run 20 yards to give himself the chance to receive it. A couple of freekicks that Ba won, he waited for someone to put ball down, and immediately ran a channel in the hope of getting the ball and being one on one. Not jizzing in me kegs yet, but i was SERIOUSLY impressed with the kid, showed an awesome 1st touch all game and his goal was a great strike (nearly did same thing again as well,) plus he was brave and prepared to get amongst it. AND QUICK!!

Please expand on the bit in bold. The bit in green doesn't even make sense you blend!

Well this didn't happen as Sir Bobby says in his book that Gary Speed was sold behind his back and only found out about the transfer when he was saying his goodbyes... You've jumped in ahead of yourself here mate, I'm just asking what people think of that definition of backing a manager, think generically if u like, doesnt have to be NUFC specific yet.
-
who are you ? Are you some sort of 12 year old gimp from Singapore ? Aside of that, if you don't understand how football success has been achieved by every successful club since football began............then you must be a 12 year old from Singapore [especially one who thinks the Halls and Shepherd brought an end to decades of trophies and glory]. Laughable. Edit unfortunately, there seems to be more posters attracted here of a Newcastle Online mentality. Hopefully not. I dont recall EVER having mentioned either the Halls or Shepherds on here, but if you feel the need to falsely attribute something to me (so you can shift the thread into one of your standard five themes,) instead of responding to my point then go ahead. It says a lot that the first thing to pop into your mind is a 12yr old asian, I'm assuming Thailand is on your list of places to visit? To paraphrase you for a moment LM "Why wont u answer my question?" The question being "Would you agree or disagree with my definition of backing your manager?"
-
"Backing your manager, which means allowing him to manage his own players and backing him to build and improve rather than force him to sell and replace cheaply." -- Canny definition LM, which online dictionary did you get that from?, or if you didn't can i have a go??? Backing your manager -- Allowing him to sign players that will improve the team and move the club forward. How's that??

What happens if it doesnt affect anything and another of your fanciful "I told you so" predictions floats away on a summer breeze? which one has done that ? "Collocini Tiote / Cabaye etc will be gone before January is out, Doom, Doom, Doomity, Doom!! Doomity Doom!"
-
What a crazy-mercury swilling-mad as a hatter-gone with the fairies-imbalanced-delusional-nutcase !! I actually think that it's an absolute necessity to him that he maintains his stance of being imperviously correct, and that if he ever entertains the notion that their are other views in this world outside of his that hold credence he will literally have a full on meltdown and go on a blazing rampage that ends in death for a lot of innocents! Can't we all just agree with him and then laugh at him behind his back?....... it may be for the best
-
Aye, I'd have taken Bassong on loan. This is a serious question before any nutsack bites my head off, but how do u reckon the crowd would have taken to that given how he left??

Why do u reckon that going to games means you have a higher understanding of football?? Were you at the QPR game? Of Course you were, youll have been one of those idiots shouting "Shooooot" everytime one of our players had the ball in their half (because we hadnt scored in first 20 mins,).... including when WILLIAMSON had it 45 yards out!! I'd say that about 90% of the games i go to i hear some idiot shout something truly idiotic and actually meaning it...... its a knocking bet that one of them was you!

you'll never learn Does this qualify as Irony? True definition? -
+1, I like Ben Arfa but he was terrible today.
-
Abso-exac-olute-ly, the crossing was disgraceful. Shola actually looked like he wanted to win headers today, and by and large was winning the majority of them against their centre halfs. If we'd managed some better balls into the box i could have seen him notching, however crossing was poor, and Best should hang his head for some of the chances missed, especially the one Shola headed back across the him. For all Pardew is getting a slating, if one player had taken one chance i don;t think we'd have been troubled.

If he had gone out to "keep it tight at the back", and we'd drew 0-0 he'd probs have got a hammering on here, wouldnt he? Definitely a bad day at the office today, but why everyone wants to be the first to press the self destruct button is beyond me!, I'll bet my left nut that the same people calling for his head were waxing lyrical after the Man U game! What's worse is I reckon there's some "fans" couldnt wait to hit the internet/pub/phones to say "i told you so". At a base level SOME part of them will have been happy to see Brighton net one!- 10610 replies
