1. You on a diet like? An entire sandwich is a bit much isn't it? An apple and a yoghurt a day is all you need. The weight will drop off, then you can get back to the fry-ups faster.
2. course we have afternoon tea down here in Devon! ooooo arrrrr Why do you call it dinner? dinner isnt a sandwich Middle of the day is lunch, dinner is an evening meal unless you are like my parents in law who have a cooked meal at 1pm, which is then correctly named Dinner!!! 140416 It's a meal at dinner time, served by dinner ladies - it's 'dinner'. an evening meal is served at teatime - it's 'tea' Lunch is what Essex wives 'do'
3. Lunch? LUNCH? Oooooh laaar-de-dar. Will you be having afternoon tea too. I had a cheese and ham sandwich for my dinner.
4. Programming occasionally gets in the way of music and forums, but not often. Vitalic - Ok Cowboy
5. If I couldn't listen to music at "work" I imagine I'd end it all.
6. Josh Ritter - Girl In The War Aaaaah, dat's noice.
7. "not bad, not bad, not bad at all i tried your shoes on cigarettes and crucifixes, ingmar bergman, alphonse mouzon really boring modern music, really boring modern girl get me out of here, i’m drowning, i don’t like this modern world anti-intellect and marketing, pretty, pretty, who needs talent crying eyes, we’re so outnumbered, fight for the right to remain silent what do i know, who am i, my two left feet my big dumb face i’d do the same if i had the chance, cheat the system, rig the race" Buck 65 - Blood of a Young Wolf (on at Newcastle Uni this Saturday )
8. NEW ORDER On sale Friday 26th May at 9am NEWCASTLE Academy - Weds 11 October
9. I was still dancing a jig and laughing at the mackems supping our ale, but that topped it off nicely.
10. Not looking like a great playlist this like, very arbitrary.
11. That's what I said, "Tublier"!
12. Tublier Bells is the best long track. "Glockenspiel!"
13. Poor struggling little Built To Spill, why don't you nab their instruments too *Put's on full Torrentspy'd album*
14. Fook me that's a long song. 139840 And a brilliant one. Get your moneys worth anyhow.
15. Built To Spill - Goin' Against Your Mind
16. Sufjan Stevens - Seven Swans. Not as good as Illinoise, but still great. Earlier on I gave the Gnarls Barkly/Berkley (whatever) album a go. Didn't like it.
17. That's pretty much what it says, you piqued my interest with that, so I've gone and found the rest of the lyrics. Reminds me a Shakespearean sonnet, he/she/they are basically playing with familiarity, although the sexual content is far from subtle. There's more references than Steely Dan and to be honest a lot of it's lost on me. Might have to have a listen to the album. 139723 "of Louse, Tony Blair, in Lizarazu"??? Really? Tony Blair 'in' a French defender? Disgusting. You want the album like, it IS class.
18. pfsh! Falling in Love is Hard On The Knees is their best.
19. Anyone speak French? The lyrics to the song I'm listening to go... "Là-bas en Angleterre ils se disent tous "you", c'est plus clair, de Toto, Tony Blair, à Lizarazu." Babel fish translates it literally to "Over there in England they say all "you", it is clearer, of Louse, Tony Blair, in Lizarazu." Can anyone do a better translation?
20. Listened to Jolie Hollands new album which wasn't really to my taste. Then had another listen to Goin Against Your Mind by Built to Spill which is a track I basically put on between every album I listen to because it's the best song i've ever heard and I can't get enough of it at the minute. Currently listening to the new Gomez album and jolly good it is too. How We Operate (the title track) and Hamoa Beach stand out straight away. They're on at the acadamy soon I seem to rememember. I wasn't going to bother because I saw them after their first album came out, and though they were good, they haven't done owt great since so didn't see the point. Might purchase tickets if it continues to hold my interest.
21. "Well I feel Just like a child, Yeah I feel Just Like a child, Well I feel Just like a child, Well I feel Just like a child, From my Womb to my tomb I guess I'll always be a child. Well some people try and treat me like a man, Yeah some people try and treat me like a man, well I guess they just don't understand, Yeah some people try and treat me like a man, They think I know shit, but that's just it I'm a child" "I see so many, little boys I want to marry, I've seen plenty, little kids I've yet to have"
22. Inspired by the thread I listened to Hail To The Thief by Radiohead on the way in. Still brilliant. Then I tried listening to the new Chili Peppers album again, but once again got bored by track 3 and couldn't listen to anymore. Is any of it any good? They seem to have found a sound they like and want to stick to it. It's just very dull now. Moved on to School Of The Flower by Six Organs of Admittance now, which despite some atrocious free form jazz drumming that pollutes my ears has some of the most luscious chilled out acoustic guitar.
23. Nowt worse than a band stagnating. Rehashing the stuff that was popular, scared to just do what they want because they have to cater to their demographic. I look at Oasis and see what Radiohead could have become. I thank christ they didn't.
