  1. Agree about Shola. Don't mind having him as a feel good cheerleader, but he really isn't up to scratch. I reckon Mbiwa is more than capable of growing into Colo's replacement, so short term I don't think there's an immediate need to sign another centre back. On the basis that Cisse's future is uncertain and Remy appears to be ready to chase his next big payday, a striker is our priority surely. That said, if the right striker isn't available I think we have enough options right now but it would pile the pressure on in the summer. There seems to be a lot of noise about De Jong, so perhaps this indicates strikers are on our horizon.
  2. Who should we sign? And who should they replace in our squad?
  3. That's what I thought at first, but looking back on it, it was a bit more than a trip. He properly swiped at his leg and it was very high. Really, it should all be irrelevant, as if the referee hadn't needlessly disallowed a perfectly good goal, the likelihood is that our more aggressive side would never have reared its head.
  4. Didn't we say exactly the same thing last January? They seem to love keeping their cards close to their chest rather than making some desperate plea that we are in dire need of fresh blood.
  5. It’s a very old fashioned and simplistic view of football, akin to schoolboy football where all 11 players are continuously chasing the ball in a huddle.
  6. A lad at work reckons there’s some rumour that he’s off to Norwich for £3m. Haven’t seen anything about that yet, but I suppose it would make sense as Hughton loved him.
  7. Where did they get their figures from? I can find a few stories about us coming to agreement, but this is the only one that confidently mentions £5.2m. Still not too bad, even at that level.
  8. Crooks is a moron, presumably kept on by the BBC for some special needs quota they are obliged to fill. His “team of the week” involves choosing some players (as many English as possible) from the teams that won games. Usually, this means all of the midfielders and strikers have scored whilst the keeper will have pulled off a “for the cameras” style save. He has no real objective or thought-provoking comments to made. My image of his desk at the BBC is very much like the desk of Milton in Office Space. One day someone is going to steal his stapler and there will be a fire at the BBC that nobody can explain.
  9. That doesn't include any overnight stays, either.
  10. Mbiwa's tackle was cynical, but it's being massively overplayed because it resulted in injury. Not a nice one.
  11. It is quite nice to look at, isn't it?
  12. That was their plan, but they lost the case, didn't they?
  13. We paid no fee for him. He bought himself out of his contract at Mallorca, then we paid him an inflated wage for a couple of seasons to compensate.
  14. Law 11, FIFA Rulebook: "A player can be ruled offside, even if they do not touch the ball, if they "interfere with an opponent" by "preventing an opponent from playing or being able to play the ball by clearly obstructing the opponent's line of vision or challenging an opponent for the ball"
  15. Highly likely that if the goal had stood, the subsequent run of fouls and Anita's nasty one would never have happened.
  16. Clearly lacking confidence at the minute. Hesitated on the ball when bearing down on goal, and hit a second good chance straight at the keeper. Is the rape charge taking its toll?
  17. Bollocks man, he was one of the first names on the teamsheet. Football isn't just about goals and assists. Jonas was brilliant at holding possession and bringing others into the game. Someone who can hold on to the ball for 5-10 seconds and allow bodies to get forward is worth having in your side. Solid footballer who I'll look back on with fond memories.
  18. Still can't quite fathom how anyone could make a case for disallowing that goal. Staggeringly shit decision.
  19. Enviable collection of dildos on the windowsill.
  20. They had an off day because Tiote was playing like a man possessed. He was truly awesome.
