Nope, it'll be that much for a night. Sandy Lane resorts are eye wateringly expensive. We did a slightly cheaper one at Crystal Coves for our honeymoon and got a free upgrade into a two level beach front suite, and that was topping £2500 for the week. Lots of good points. 20 years ago, when ticket sales were a bigger proportion of revenue, the extra match day revenue was enough of an incentive to progress. Now, the extra match is a burden to the PL sides, adding unnecessary pressure to the league campaign for negligible reward. The rewards of the PL and CL have grown exponentially whilst the FA Cup has stagnated. They need to make the rewards greater otherwise it was always be neglected. £10m for the winners would do it.

There's a dick who sits near us. He rocks up 10-15 minutes after kick off, extends half time by an extra five minutes each way, then fucks off home with 75-80 on the clock. He looks like a bonafide gypsy and whilst he doesn't shout, he talks at a volume as loud as I could shout, thereby transmitting his opinion to the whole of the upper west corner of the Gallowgate. Possibly why, year after year, he becomes more and more lonely in his row for all but the sell out games. To be honest, there are more and more dickheads at the match now. I sometimes like watching the game at home where my ears aren't filled with the thoughts of a 45 year old, pissed on cheap cider, screaming ignorance-inspired abuse at whichever player makes the first mistake.

The "system" put us 1-0 up. Elliot conceded two goals that he really should have saved. I watched the replay of the first one in particular and still can't work out how he didn't stop it. The lack of a decent response to going behind was the most telling for me. That was the bit where we threw in the towel and signalled that we didn't really care about the competition.
