  1. You look a lot like your mam did last night.
  2. Tight margins. Lost against Arsenal due to a farcical free kick being given. Denied an equalizer today due to a shocking decision to disallow the goal.
  3. What have we got to lose? The game of football, heavily.
  4. Williamson and Taylor as our centre back pairing scares me somewhat.
  5. Name a club from the top 4 divisions that isn't run as a business.
  6. I work for an American firm and having medical cover is compulsory. They boost our salary to cover the monthly cost, but there's a deduction of £120 per month taken out. That's getting on for $200 a month.
  7. Is this the first ever 2.05 kick off for NUFC?
  8. So hungover that I feel like crying.
  9. If it wasn't for Aguero, Navas, Toure, Negredo, Kompany, Dzeko and Zabaleta, we'd have a fighting chance of a draw.
  10. http://www.givemesport.com/389122-ivorian-striker-sees-red-in-seven-seconds Never seen such a sustained smile, especially after a harsh sending off.
  11. A close, hard-fought, inspiring 3-0 defeat.
  12. Fair enough. It doesn’t rule out the possibility that meetings have been going on for months, the targets are set, and the next meeting is to update and reassess.
  13. I was probably thinking of a walrus at the time. And it was big.

    Cooking

I'm sure I've mentioned this before, but as soon as you add an egg, it is no longer a burger. It's just a flat meatball. Salt works as a binding agent so meat and salt is all you need. The fattier the better.
  15. Where is that quote from? Has some journo just made it up? Did Joe Kinnear hold a press conference to announce that he's meeting with Ashley to discuss the club's transfer policy?
  16. Is a shoe in different from a shoo in? To be fair, it’s in Spanish, and I know that Google translate isn’t to be trusted.
  17. I just read the word "corrupcion" and made some assumpcions.
  18. http://www.infobae.com/2014/01/08/1535748-osvaldo-coloccini-padre-fabricio-hablo-corrupcion-las-inferiores-san-lorenzo Looks like Coloccini Snr has been sacked for corruption. Maybe the transfer interest from San Lorenzo will cool a bit now. Is anyone any good at translating Spanish?
  19. Ashley is a successful businessman. Successful businessmen such as Ashley have a focus on long term strategy rather than the immediate. The five signings last January were all players the club had identified as good fits much earlier. I don't think they weren't panic buys at all, aside from perhaps Gouffran who came in as a short term replacement for Ba and has probably done better than most people expected. I still think they dropped a bollock in not getting hold of Sissoko and Debuchy before the end of August (they admitted as much) but they had all the hallmarks of deals that were months in the making rather than impulse signings. If we do sign someone, it's likely to be someone we've been watching for a while and is very much on our radar. Ashley is cautious with his cash, he isn't going to throw £10m at someone we've never seen play.
  20. I despair at NUFC fans sometimes. Seemingly signing anybody would appease most of them, regardless of whether they're any good or not.
  21. It's not NUFC who put out the "on the verge of" message...
  22. But Ashley doesn't give a shit what the fans think, so why would the club go to all that effort?
  23. And as he has shown in the past, he will move to the highest bidder. QPR were virtually certainties to go down, yet he was quite happy to take their money, despite shaking hands on a deal with NUFC. All another club has to do is offer him £80-100k per week and we're priced out.
