Newcastle United v Tottenham Hotspur

The incident where the ball went out (when Pardew gave the lino a nudge) was another example. Simpson stopped dead and let Lennon (I think it was Lennon) run away without a challenge, whilst he appealed to the referee for a throw in. He continued appealing for the next 5 seconds whilst Lennon ran into space. Surely he knows the phrase, "play to the whistle"? The sooner we get shot of this numpty, the better. -
I'm not a football crier like, but clearly a couple of my mates are. One of them had tears in his eyes when Tiote scored, but to be honest I was almost at that stage.

We were having an alcohol-fuelled debate a couple of weeks ago about when it's acceptable for a bloke to cry. The top three were: a ) at a funeral b ) at a football match c ) after a life-changing wank Thoughts?

Defoe definitely gets his head to it before Santon. In real time, at the match, I thought Santon had got there, but Defoe flicks it first. The biggest problem with the goal stemmed from the space we left on the right. Simpson should have dropped in the assist Perch and Taylor, where they were outnumbered, leaving HBA to cover their winger. Unfortunately, Simpson hung around in no man's land and HBA was still a bit further forward. He made up for it by getting a penalty, so I'll forgive him for that. -
that's fowl.

It pushes against the rocket's body itself, and the easiest path is straight out of the bottom of the rocket. As you're in a vacuum, there's nothing to push back the other way, and you accelerate freely.
-
Well, I know it's not pure vacuum, but for the purposes of this thread it might as well be (has a nice parallel)
-
What is pushing against the rocket?
-
I found this thread http://www.godlikeproductions.com/forum1/message1791934/pg12 It's almost a carbon copy!
-
So let's assume space is a vacuum (it is). Why can't a rocket work in a vacuum? It's a pressurised, sealed environment and that pressure wants to escape. When the pressure escapes, the rocket moves. It doesn't make any difference whether it's in a vacuum or not, other than there's less gravitational pull as you get further from the earth.
-
How do you know space is a vacuum?

I think we'll be beaten 2-0. We'll stutter and falter and lose our first two games. -
Surely the tefal heads should have closed this thread by now...?

Ages ago, I used to have a ticket 4 rows from the front in the Leazes End. Brilliant for having a conversation with David James when the action was down the other end, but shite for everything else. Then went up to Level 7, which was brilliant. It's a workout for your eyes mind, but you soon get used to it. Ashley then decided he wanted to put away fans in my seat, so I ended up in the Gallowgate. Canny seats, good view...but some horrendously negative characters around. Tricky to get any decent banter when there's different people sitting in front of your every week (usually a bunch of Chinese students taking photos throughout the game).

Hang on - as far as we know, we're the only club to have made a bid for Debuchy. Inter might have been sniffing, but they haven't put a bid in. So Lille are moving the goalposts. We have already upped our bid once. If no other clubs think he's worth what Lille are asking, why should we pay over the odds?

You can definitely get them online - I know because I acquired mine that way! Go to: http://tickets.nufc.co.uk/events.aspx and click on memberships. There's an option on there - £10.
-
Haven't got mine either. Neither have two of my mates. They said they should be with us by tomorrow, so I'm not concerned yet.
-
Agree with that. I think that the fans' views need to be taken into account though and Ashley isn't completely ignorant of our views. But like you say, he isn't a fan, so he can weigh up a decision based on business sense. For instance, the Cardiff City owners certainly haven't listened to their fans when it came to their red strip.

It's inevitable that footballers will be compared with Olympic athletes at the moment. I'm not defending footballers at all, as a majority of them are utter bastards, but the two can't really be compared. One of the other factors to consider is that over half of our medallists have come from private education. And most of the rest have been supported by their parents as they've grown up. A majority of footballers come from disadvantaged backgrounds and tough upbringing. Couple this with being showered with ridiculous sums of money once they hit 16 and you create a load of absolute arseholes who don't know how to handle money or their public image. -

Never even get mine out of the Magpie Mover wallet. The electronic turnstiles detect the card even inside the metro wallet. I'm not going to lose any sleep over a few logos on the season ticket. They could put a picture of a penis on there for all I care.

Now that is a good song. Very Nirvana-esque.
