  1. Was also 2 CMs vs their 3, so Tiote and Cabaye didn't see too much of the ball. Like you said, when Ben Arfa came on it gave Tiote and Cabaye a bit more freedom to play higher up the pitch. Talking of Tiote; he lost the ball a surprising number of times yesterday, but his distribution is noticeably improving. He's also got a good shot on him as we know. edit; will be interesting to see what cards Pardew plays when either/both get injured/suspended, or when Tiote goes off to the ACN. Gosling, Guthrie, Abeid and Vuckic will need to prove themselves capable of at least providing semi-adequate cover when either or both of Tiote and Cabaye are away.
  2. Looked like Taylor was trying to choke him at one point.
  3. Wigan's main problem is simply putting the ball in the back of the net, as is the case for a few teams down their end of the table. You often watch them play and they don't look too bad, but they're so low because they just don't score anywhere near enough. They've scored as many goals this season as we've let in. That's why they're where they are.
  4. http://goalshighligh...ic-cabaye-goal/ What a sexy bastard Was I the only one who was greeted by a very NSFW Adult Friend Finder ad below the vid when I visited that link? Thankfully I'm not actually at work...
  5. Time to bench him tbh. Start Marveaux in all league matches, give Obertan cup + reserve games and 15-20 minutes as a sub. He's still young and I think he's got some potential. Physically he's got good attributes, mentally less so. Simply not enough end product at the moment to earn a first 11 spot, all there is to it I'm afraid.
  6. Whatever you think of Obertan, it's good that we've got other options in his position.
  7. I'll give the team a lot of credit if we win this one. Won't be easy.
  8. Kevin can drive? Should send out a nationwide warning to all road users.
  9. You've not noticed any of the reviews it's got?
  10. Apologies if already posted. http://www.journallive.co.uk/nufc/newcastle-united-news/2011/10/21/danny-simpson-on-course-for-new-nufc-deal-says-boss-61634-29634102/2/
  11. I see the Journal reckon we're also interested in Luuk de Jong, Cisse and Sow as well as Maiga. I imagine Maiga would be the cheapest of the four - I hope that's not the reason why we go for him (if we go for him). To be fair Twente will want a lot for de Jong since they sold his strike partner in the summer, Cisse is 27 and will probably spark a bidding war, whilst all the top clubs in the continent have their eye on Sow.

  13. I can't be the only one here on here who has no idea who she is/was.
  14. More nailed on than the last couple of seasons then. They were half decent a couple of years ago when Valencia and Palacios etc still played for them. I'm more nervous about this match than I would be against Man Utd - it's a game we really should be expecting to win. Would be typical if the supposedly easiest match of our upcoming games is the one that breaks our unbeaten run.
  15. They're nailed on to go down, if you ask me.
