Davide Santon signs a 5 year deal with Newcastle United

So we're going for a player who isn't a natural LB, and has been out of form for a while. As opposed to a player who is a natural LB and is on form. No doubt because the former costs a couple of £m less. -

Didn't do very well in the red and white last (half-) season... -
They're both white males, I suppose.

I know you were probably being a bit flippant but in what way do you mean? Repeating myself but I think he's very much like Rob Lee. Yeah but you quite literally don't know what you're talking about. Seems I do. Nuh uh

I was thinking a loan with them paying a portion of his wages. Dreaming here, I know.

Skysports.com (who generally know little) reckon a number of clubs are in for Adam Johnson. Would love it if one of them was us.

I'm glad that we have you, bravely diving behind the scenes to tell us what's really going on. It was just a presumption based on apparent history, didn't mean to upset you. -
Can't see myself ever getting into it tbh, and I have tried. I just find it dull (and yes I know the rules) to watch. I feel like I've already seen everything that can be done with the bat and ball, there's not enough variety for me. No real excitement, even when there's meant to be- "Ooh, he hit a 6. Which looks like all those other 6s just in another area" On top of that I find certain things about the sport irritating - including really trivial stuff like the hats they were, the hand signals the umpires do, and the even fact that cricket people say the word cricket in every other sentence. It's just not my cup of tea, I prefer contact sports like football and rugby. Expecting a cricket fan to reply to this by questioning my intelligence

If we don't bring in Pieters it'll be because we weren't willing to spend an extra £1-2m or so. Pathetic. -

Why bother, CT? Firstly, it's the Mail, and secondly you know there's going to be absolutely nothing in it when they don't even credit the reporter. http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/...ide-Santon.html An absolute nothing story till it appears via more reputable sources, waste of bandwidth, please revoke CT's thread-making functionality etc rabble rabble rabble -
Newcastle United v Fulham --- Sunday 1.00pm Kick Off

And nor is Gosling. Ben Arfa won't be for a while when he recovers either. All 3 will need a fair while to get 'right', they've been out for a ridiculous amount of time between them. -
Only Findley and Blackstock play for Forest, man. They bought Ishmael Miller and Matt Derbyshire this summer though who are both pretty decent. Not today mind, as they lost 4-1 at home. Not been a good start to the season at all for them, no home wins yet.

Classic pic, definitely got potential caption-wise

Say it ain't so. I wanted someone to say "he'll be fine after the international break".
-
Broke his hand and all that. Any of you wannabe doctors care to guess when he might be back? I know there are a lot of bones in the hand... Gutted for the big guy either way, he's had no luck whatsoever with injuries.
-
What a guy.

Fighting Leyton Orient for players we don't even need. This is what it's come down to.
