I'd like to think Harper has been treated fairly by the club. 18 years he's been at the club I think it is, doubt that counts for much with our lot unfortunately.

We've needed another striker even before Carroll left. Plenty of us were going on about the need for another striker last summer, no less. They've had a ridiculous amount of time to sort it out, and have the money. There are no excuses as far as I'm concerned. We'll get another LB in, absolutely no chance of us leaving Shane Ferguson as first choice. Simply unthinkable. I can see us not getting another striker though, even in the knowledge that Ba will be away next January (and possibly even Shola too if Nigeria call him up!).

Now maybe, but I don't think he was for the Arsenal game which is what Phil was referring to.

Pal on FB asked about it, strange one if true. Don't need Green. He is decent most of the time but prone to errors. Krul is at least his equal. I'd have laughed it off at the end of last season. But all three keepers have been pretty poor pre season, so i wouldn't be surprised. Dropping harper out the squad, only to loan Forster to Celtic a few days later, makes me wonder. Harper was injured iirc.

Yeah I mis-worded that sentence, I meant they need at least 3 across both legs because of the away goals (pretty sure I read that they count for this match).
