  1. That's my worry. As a back-up I wouldn't say no. I get this worrying impression that Pardew wants to replace Carroll and then just leave it at that. We really need 2 new strikers, preferably ones we can deem as better than the back-up sort.
  2. Article in the OP is too good to be true. Can still see one of those strikers here come September.
  3. He got a Nigeria call-up a few months back but then got injured at Fulham. As for Ben Arfa; the fact that he proved his talents during his stints at Lyon and Marseille suggests that he's done more than "nowt" like some of you are suggesting. As do his French caps and goals. A number of prominent people in the game speak highly of his attributes. He's not done a lot for us, no, but I'd have thought it's pretty obvious why many of our fans are excited about him based on the above and the very little we've seen of in the black and white. We all know that's got a bit of a controversial history and that that would have played a big part in why he came to us and not a better team. However he knows he now owes us for sticking with him after he got his injury and I was always of the impression that moving from France would have helped him grow up a bit. Moving to a new country can only aid his maturity.
  4. Will someone please assure Leazes that his man is alright.
  5. Unicef aren't a sponsor though, Barca pay them to put the name on their top, and £150mil from Qatar is not to be sniffed at...this is the first season the name will be on the shirt I know UNICEF aren't a sponsor, if you want to be pedantic. For sponsor, read "another organization's logo".
  6. Barca shirts have been ruined by that sponsor. Having another sponsor on the back just makes it even worse. With that said, the home top is the worst effort Nike have done for them in years regardless of sponsors. I yearn for the days of the sponsorless Barca kit.
  7. Fail to see how that would "seal his move".

  9. How many daughters has he got?
  10. Love his energy. He'll be manager of NUFC one day if he keeps this up.
  11. Er, yeah, actually. I'm content with it; no difference really to what you see in pictures of it. You know full well that some like (or at least, don't mind) it. I don't think it's half as bad as some make out.
  12. 38 seconds in. This guy (on loan from Liverpool I might add) got away with just a yellow. His victim 'got away' with just a broken jaw and nose. edit; Embedded video doesn't seem to be working, so here's a direct link - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WBiAgf1yAuY&t=0m38s
  13. I was wrong about those Marseille kits. They were mock-ups but they were mostly correct with their basic design. These are the genuine ones. In truth I prefer the mock-ups. The collar puts me off the home one, not a fan of the collar on the away one and it looks too cluttered.
  14. I want Reading to do well but I wouldn't say no to a Cardiff-Swansea final, just for the sheer spectacle of it. One of the most intense rivalries in football. Would make for a memorable game.
  15. I just noticed the day you signed up. Are you a terrorist sympathiser? I am Bin Laden.
  16. What an absolutely fantastic match that was. Pratley sealed it with a goal from just inside his own half after Camp had come up for a Forest corner. Forest hit the woodwork 3 times. Really am full of admiration for the pair of them, but more so for Swansea for their performance with 10 men in the first leg.
  17. Don't have a problem with them being the Prem, much like I've never had a problem with them being in the lower leagues. Swansea are a wonderful footballing side to be perfectly honest, based on what I've seen and heard this season. Couldn't care less where they're from.
  18. Swansea in the final then. Love watching this lot.
