  1. I'm a bit surprised by that tbh - I would have thought the CL would be the absolute pinnacle for you? I'm personally really hoping that you manage it as I think Guardiola has earned it for what he's achieved this season.
  2. One of them later on in the thread notes that they've only got 29 tickets left of their 3k allocation and that this is some commitment by their fans. Then another lad comes in and corrects him saying that they gave 2000 back to us as they were unable to shift them So we'll have 1000 miserable Leicester fans cheering their team on. Poor bastards.
  3. https://www.foxestalk.co.uk/topic/131803-toon-away/#comments They are not confident. Quite a few of them just wanting to forfeit the game and get it over with, some wanting to get beat 7-0 to make a point to the players, but none of them expecting anything at all. They're talking as if this game relegates them which I don't think it actually does unless Everton and Leeds both win at the weekend. Fish is in there and all.
  4. I feel bad for Leicester because I don't really want them to go down, but they're losing on Monday. Whether Liverpool drop points to Villa or not, we're ending our involvement in any 'race' for top 4 here.
  5. Here is De Zerbi explaining it himself: The reasoning behind rotation: "Because Welbeck, Buonanotte and Gilmour are the same as Mac Allister, they can't play 90 minutes today and 90 minutes Sunday. I said yesterday in press conference that I have to think in this period of 12 days and not one game because we are not used to playing three games per week and I have to analyse the situation in the best way. "I think on Sunday we will be with energy and in the best condition. With change or not we have the possibility to score another goal when we were in 2-0. But we have too many injuries and we have to think about this. We are not in the best condition to play four games in 12 days and I had to think in a different way. I think in Newcastle's stadium we can lose the game. I think we needed six points and we are capable of winning two games in the last three."
  6. Man I'm fucking psyched about this one, great fucking result. Dumped all the pressure onto Liverpool and Manure. Superb.
  7. Was full of praise for us beforehand too, said we deserved the CL finish. Maybe RTG is right and he was bought off after all.. I imagine they're absolute beside themselves tbh.
  8. Don't think they had this down as a must win - he said as much beforehand. They were tired, needed to rotate, and had 4 games to think of, not just this one.
  9. I was never worrying mate, you consistently seem to have me down as someone who was. I said every single time that we were going to be fine, even as we were failing to beat Leeds and losing to Arsenal
  10. That's the easy one done - now on to the actual banana skin, Leicester at home In all seriousness, we've fucking got this now.
  11. Just need to keep it composed and tidy from here while continuing to put them onto the back foot - this is a much diminished Brighton so far, let's hope it continues.
  12. They're stretched, have 3 games remaining after this one, probably hasn't tagged it as a priority for their own objectives. They played on Sunday too. Based on what he said to the press, I reckon that's all it is.
  13. I mean they're right tbf, Brexit killed off most of my passion for democracy What is the point in a system that bases itself almost entirely on lies and distortions funded by Russia and dark money, and aided and abetted by traitors in the Mail? I'd take a dictatorship of the mentally adequate any day over the farce we have right now.
  14. I just try to be balanced and to charitably give time to the viewpoints I'm contending with tbf - I mean to do anything otherwise would be to assume I'm unerringly right about everything and can never change or evolve my views I think it's a good thing to be like this... I do agree that we've continued to play well and are being stretched with fitness anyway - that we've continued to play well is the prime reason I still think we're going to be fine and that we haven't choked. I suppose if we continued to play as ferociously as we have, and still failed, I would concede that we hadn't choked.
  15. You reckon? For us to lose it from here I think it would represent our worst run of form all season - we are definitely capable of doing what we need to here. I'm also thinking about how we struggled mentally with the League Cup final which Howe himself referenced in his press conference. I'm not saying that this means the players have failed or that we should be disappointed in them, but if mental fragility is the cause of us wobbling out of this, we should be collectively man enough to own that so we can work on it. I take the point that the league position represents form across a whole season, but nonetheless this is in our control as of right now, with 3 games we are absolutely capable of winning given the form we were in pre-Arsenal. I'm still very confident that we're going to manage it incidentally - and when we do, I'll be lauding the players for their mental fortitude.
  16. What is this meant to mean exactly I'll be gutted if we miss out on CL now btw as more than anything it'll underline that the old issue of this club being more associated with glorious failure than actual glory will still be intact. I won't blame anyone but let's be serious about it, if we fuck it up now it's because we've choked. We're not going to fuck it up though. We are a good fucking team that is really motivated to achieve what it has to do here. Weve been top 4 most of the season. Brighton are not a better team than we are. Also I watched Brighton's prematch presser and they sound stretched thin themselves.
  17. I know a few... one of them moved to Canada shortly after voting for it. Seems to be a bit of a running theme tbh.
