  1. If it gets really bad they'll bring someone in though. We're all talking as though January ends and then that's it. We can replace Carver any time.
  2. Any reason why he was sacked? I mean, other than the obvious.
  3. Oh thank God...one terrible decision that can't now be taken by our board.
  4. Even if we do stay up, the media gloating when Pardew's Palace overtake us in the table will be utterly insufferable.
  5. Obviously this would be good news, and potentially even worth waiting till summer for assuming we can avoid relegation... but would they hire him?
  6. How are they going to have a meaningful debate with this many participants? If it's anything like last time they'll all just be falling over each other with meaningless rhetoric, except to a greater degree as there are two additional politicians. I don't think there'll even be sufficient time for all of the candidates to voice their opinions on things.
  7. http://www.theguardian.com/football/blog/2015/jan/22/cambridge-united-supporting-max-rushden Good article about a Cambridge Utd fan's experiences of following Cambridge. Doesn't seem entirely unfamiliar in terms of the excitement about the team that pulled him in initially, only to give way to mismanagement and disappointment.
  8. Does seem like he's properly left us. Although I was thinking the other day, while the forum is a bit quieter at the moment, there's no one stirring up shit in the manner that Aeris, CT, DesmondTUTU, etc used to do. The closest we've come is The Fish setting CSD to ignore.
  9. I can honestly say that while I was at school (St. Cuthberts) no one ever used that term in conversation with me, or around me. I recall 'dingleberries' being used but I expect you'll now tell me this is some sort of posh southern version of the word
  10. Actually, was born and grew up in Newcastle - just never heard the phrase..!
  11. This has certainly been an agreeable discussion about some disagreeable events, and I'm sure we can all agree on that.
  12. It must be that on some level, it translates into some form of gain. Maybe the political clout it brings matters to smaller nations we deal with.
  13. Dammit, I'm going from bad to worse in forum conventions! Thanks for clarifying and for that...graphic imagery.
  14. Ok look, what's a winnet? I've been trying to ignore my ignorance for that term for ages and I just can't take it anymore.
  15. Ah fair enough then. I had the impression that their focus on youth would keep player wages low, high profits on sales, etc...wonder where all the money goes.
  16. They did but I didn't think all of it. Even if they had some £20m left over it would probably be enough to surpass our profits wouldn't it? Assuming that they've benefited similarly to us in the TV revenue stakes. EDIT - for clarity, I mean £20m on top of whatever their standard profit is.
  17. Really? Even with Southampton making all the sales they did?
  18. All Quantitative Easing does is kick the can down the road. If this is what Europe needs though, then fair enough I suppose.
  19. So what you're saying here, is that you really don't like Bjork.
  20. I think he's got them all, there were only 17. We await further challenges from the quizmaster To be fair, I quite enjoy these so I'm grateful to Dave for putting them up.
  21. Love the anger in this thread title.
