Could well be a hardware conflict if you've installed any recent hardware or swapped cables around? try swapping your memory sticks in different slots,more often than not it's the memory that causes crap like this and it will make it worse if you keep it in if it's bad

nope still comes up as a bitmap

Recently done a fresh install of XP & noticed when i now click to save an image,it saves it automatically to a Bitmap(.bmp)format when it used to be jpeg,anybody know how to change it so i can save as jpeg cheers
