But whoever is responsible, wants shooting, and whoever is responsible, I would seriously question. As Allardyce was complaining about backing etc last august/September time, it tells you something, but time will tell and we may find out soon what the answer to this was. The fact that some of the players we bought under the old board, flopped, is neither here nor there in terms of the boards involvement, they backed their appointed managers judgement and from that point it is the managers responsibility. The 2 things you need to be successful is an ambitious board who are prepared to back their managers as much as possible to compete for the quality players, and a manager who knows what he is doing. The underlying point is that, the old board showed ambition. If this current board don't have ambition or they are intending to run a tight ship financially without looking for the quality players, then we have absolutely no chance of matching the top clubs again at all. You're building a case against buying a player who, by your own admission, you have no clue about though aren't you? I think I have asked you "as only 4 clubs have qualified for europe more than us in the last decade, would you not agree that this means we got more things right than most " Which is all I have ever said about the old board, along with the obvious fact that improving them with better would be difficult and far from automatic.
