I think she will tbh for the sympathy vote. It's ridiculously political, take Ukraine winning two years ago, ironic since we had our only really good song in decades. It's not just a singing contest. It's a geopolitical demonstration of soft power*. * Hence UK "null point" most years.

Antisemitism is partly, probably mainly, on the rise today as a direct result of the actions of state of Israel. This is not to condone it of course but neither do I think the holocaust can be used to justify Israel's actions, which I have heard said. That is, any criticism of Israel and its actions on Gaza are somehow antisemitic. Which is an argument well rehearsed on here and I think generally agreed with. I don't know what this lass's personal beliefs are and I don't agree with this protest against her at all, I wish it wasn't happening. But if you're going to ban Russia from international cultural and sporting events, I think it is consistent to also ban Israel at this stage, since they persist to engage in action which is getting close to genocidal. It's a shame for the individuals but I guess it's better than being in Gaza right now.

Love EUrovision me. Signals the start of summer. Plus, recently its had massive perv factor.
  5. They say the funniest comedy always has some truth about it. Cunt.
  6. Listened and thought it was a great speech. Just give us competence, not gimmicks. The tie in with doing this in Elphicke's constituency is clear now as well. I think despite what I had said previously, Starmer may be playing a blinder here. Take Sunak's flagship policy, his only policy really, and flip it 180 degrees so it becomes a liability to him, timed perfectly. Bravo.

First of all, I do not remnotely support demonstrations like this in this context (if genuine). But honestly, I think Israel should have been banned from this years competition. We banned Russia. Whilst there is not direct equivalence ot what Russia and Israel have done, there are some similarities regarding indiscrimionate attacks on civilians (which is surely beyond doubt at this point). On a practical level, it would have avoided this. I suspect we will also see some perverse scores, as voting is positive, and I imagine a sizable proportion of each population will back her for religious/political reasons. ME religious politics pollutes everything, even events that are supposed to bring us together.
  8. I hate them personally. I also just don't get how people can afford to spend so much money travelling to places as far away as Prague etc or even Las Vegas for them. Boring maybe but I'd much rather go on a city break with my family, not that I can afford to. It's true though once in your 40s wedding and stag do's tend to end, few people would have a stag for a second marriage (need to ask Gemmill about that). Then, you hit 50s and suddenly its all funerals.
  9. The levels of accountancy denial here is akin to Tommy Robinson's views of the holocaust. Stand up and be proud oh accountants of toontastic. someone's got to do it, and we are thankful it is you.
  10. Where are you having it. Was in York last weekend, the amount of hen parties was off the scale. Wall to wall blart but half of them seemed incontinent. Anyway, RIP for the stag night. Then RIP for the marriage. Either way you're dead now. 👍
  11. Aye, ignore Gemmill, he's used to being in court. In the SEX court as the ACCUSED no less
  12. I imagine the good news about that wykiki is the court will have taken a dim view flof those shenanigans and given a more severe sentence. Take it as a win (realising it's been a shit day for you) .
  13. Aye, agreed. They are already thinking of the next GE at this stage. They needn't worry. Wherever the cards fall, I can only see what's left of the Tories going for a loony like Mordaunt if she survives (don't think she will personally) , or a turbo loony like Braverman or even Truss. They're unelectable. If they can even turn it round over the course of a decade and get a new Cameron is debatable. I think they are in a much worse place than 97.
  14. But this has led to a situation where they have Elphicke in the party and not Abbot. I don't see how that is a good look (or remotely fair) from any angle. It does feel though like they are trying to win over the Daily Mail crowd re: Abbot. I don't think any other section of the public is arsed either way. Is this a demographic they canreasonably persuade or need to get onboard anyway? I'm not a political strategist, but my instinct is it does more harm than good (unlike the Brexit stance), but maybe makes little difference either way. From a personal point of view if I were Starmer though, I couldn't do that photoshoot.
  15. HMHM appears to be undergoing some wykikification process here.
  16. He's like what Galadriel would be like if she had worn the ring of power. Amirite fellow D&D geeks?
  17. How does she attack her own party, having been stripped of membership? Honestly, I've not heard her say much wrong anfd that includes the original letter to the Guardian which got her banned, which I think people have went out their way to misinterpret. I think Starmer has got most things right. This isn't one of them. Ultimately it probably doesn't matter too much but he needs to stop trying to win over the far right here. Let Reform do his dirty work on that front.
  18. It's hard not to agree with Abbot here unfortunately. I don't think Labour should have admitted Elphicke, I was quite unaware of her bizarre comments re: her husband, the rapist. And Dianne Abbot needs to be taken in from the cold, Labour need people like her.
  19. Unfortunately the negatives of these polls are, with polling this bad, they can't get worse for the cunts and I fear it will push Sunak into an election as late as possible, even January 2025.
  20. Aye, if they've had a parliamentary suspension of 10 sitting days or more, like Johnson had. It is a difficult one to get your head round. I think her constituents would have been more happy for her to go the reform route. Tbh Brexit has shafted large areas of Kent but they voted for it so fuck them. 👍
  21. I mean, I only watched it last week but thought she confessed to the police in it? If he was lying, he'd be in the shit, but he clearly isn't. Anyway, she's dispelled any romanticism I once had about having my own stalker. I'd always imagined mine to be mind numbingly attractive and game for anything, maybe just a bit clingy. This has put me right off.
  22. So what if they are? She was arrested, what's he going to do? Sue him for libel, and out himself entirely?
