unless you're a heathen like me and enjoy red wine cold too Funny how tastes change, i'd never touch red wine, thought it all tasted like vinegar....(though i know some really do) , i now love the South African and Californian wines. But the best red i've tried was from Limassol, Cyprus. 143298 Cypriot wine? Fuck off!
-
Actually, I think that was the point in this test - they chilled the red and most people couldn't tell the difference. Then again, they might have been phillistines like Brock.
-
...makes you what?? 143271 forget my words?? No it makes me urge! 143273

I guarantee you could not tell the difference if it were put to a blind taste test. Apparently most people cannot tell the difference between white and red wine under these circumstances. Mind, I can give you the vineyard and vintage.
-
People who believe there's a difference need shooting tbh.

Why not stick to juice? Incidentally, I love burping.

That ranks as one of the most insane comments ever made on this board.

Fans of the book have slated it, which really isn't saying much 142663 I haven't found a film so unintentionally humerous since The Day After Tomorrrow. The highlight was my girlfriend shitting herself when the albino twatted the nun, the bloke behind us as pissing himself. Don't the think the cleaners were pleased like. 142752 Replace humourous with bored shitless and I will agree with you...

Good contribution!

WTE + Worst thread ever. Gemmill's right mind.

At least you were at home, the bird had to poke me as apparently I started snoring in the cinema, when we went to see the second. I didn't bother with the third. 141537 Back row? 141542 I was going to make that joke but it doesn't work, unless she had a strap on.

So why did you go and watch 3 separate films with giant flaming monsters; walking, talking trees; a gollum, an army of dead people, massive cave monsters, a huge flaming eye and lots of other stuff you new about from the book? What CGI was in there was very good, especially after the Fellowship. 141527 *Sigh* The battle scenes were overlong and drawn out to a ridiculous extent. Yes, of course the film needed CGI, but it should be used as a means to an end, not an ends to a mean. Or something.
-
You literally fell asleep? Yes he does, in the 4th and final ending.

I thought the Fellowship of the ring was superb, but got bored during the two towers. He completely screwed up on the return of the king and despite massacreing the book's ending, and missing the entire point of the trilogy I thought, he still made it an hour too long! Jesus did cry at those numerous false endings. 141509 Would agree on the Fellowship like, very good - saw it at the flicks. What happens at the end then btw? I've read the book(s) and assumed it was the same. 141514 As HF said, the scouring of the Shire was omitted, which for me was a metaphor for the industrial revolution and the loss of an entire way of life - no going back. Not to mention the demise of Saruman. Alright, I may be talking bollocks and being over-harsh, but most people I know found the last film boring as fuck if they are honest about it.

Moon on a stick! 141513 Yes, I did want it in, because it was important imo - vital even. Things never returned to normal in the book in terms of soceity or on a personal level. But that's besides the point, what was left in was bloated shite, and his obsession with CGI special effects was all to clear. I'm not particularly interested in sitting through a 2 hour special effects scene thankyou very much. Kong was the same.

I thought it was gay to watch Brokeback mountain, so how gay is it to like it? King Kong was a pile of rancid turd. Even the effects were poor I thought.
-
and by that do you mean shit? possibly the worst film Ive had the misfortune to watch. 138839 Sounds like a gay porno.

I saw that too and agree with your review. It's an uncomfortable experience, and one that asks more questions than it answers. You suspect that Bacon's character deep down still does not think he did anything wrong. Sad is the most appropriate adjective I'd say.

Saw the Da Vinci code yesterday. What a pile of contrived bollocks. I haven't read the book, but if the plot is anywhere near as weak as the film's, then it really is a case of Jesus Wept. Incredible that anyone can make so much money from such a poor story. I heard it cost about £150M to make this pile of horseplop, and you have to wonder where the money went. I suspect quite a bit went on Tom Hank's wages for one, which would be as wasteful as us paying Luque's salary. He is completely unconvincing. As for the catholic church being offended by this, they should really get a grip. It's obvious to anyone with more than one braincell this is a work of fiction, and a poor one at that. Hope the remake of the omen is better.

Anyway, I rate the first 3 albums, especially the Bends and OK Computer. I can't get into the rest of their stuff, and personally think Kid A is pretty awful to listen to (got it on now just to check - still don't like it). A good band, an influential band, but not the best act of the last 15 years. Nowhere near in fact.

"London Bridge is falling down" ? 136687 It actually works!

He hasn't earned it yet. 136613 Why am I reminded of Tom Hanks? 136682 Don't know. I'm reminded of the Smiths.
-
He hasn't earned it yet. 136613 Still needs our support man 136614 If the manager is relying on songs to boost his confidence to effectively manage the team, then God help us. I reckon the chanting of his name at the Chelsea game helped secure his appointment, something I'm far from happy about. I wish him well, obviously, but you should have a good reason to single out individuals for praise in songs imo. 136627 Like i said he is by no means my first choice but he's here now and i'll be backing him, although a 2 year contract isn't exactly inspiring 136634 Fair enough. It's desperately important he gets off to a good start though. When does the fixture list come out anyone?
