  1. Well I just meant a single tier kop wherever it is, aimed at the more passionate (younger) supporters. Safe standing too. I'm definitely nearer the tartan blanket and flask end of things nowadays but still shout and swear a lot, singing not so much. I've only sat in the Gallowgate a couple of times since the redevelopment (I say that, its been 30 years ffs!). Can't remember the atmosphere being owt special.
  2. The camber is still obvious to the naked eye. I like it, it adds character to the ground. It used to be 5 metres in Toonpack days but is now 2 metres. I was curious to what the implications were on goals scored so (yes) I used ChatGPT (deep research mode) to have a look. This is seriously impressive btw, takes about 15 minutes and it tells you its thinking as it does it. This is the conclusion: "Bottom Line: Exact goal tallies by end are hard to come by, but both historical custom and modern evidence point to the Gallowgate End being Newcastle’s most fruitful scoring end. Over all time, the Gallowgate has seen a greater share of goals at St. James’ Park (thanks to the downhill slope and second-half push) – a trend continuing into the Premier League era. The Leazes End certainly has its moments (especially when Newcastle are forced to attack that way late on), but St. James’ Park lore and statistics alike indicate that the Gallowgate End is where Newcastle score the bulk of their home goals. This enduring pattern underlines the psychological and tactical importance of shooting towards a raucous Gallowgate in front of the home faithful." My take away from this is the new stadium MUST incorporate a Gallowgate kop end. I'd have the whole pitch floating on a hydraulic ramp and change the camber to suit us depending on which half we are attacking.
  3. The main thing, the location, is the correct choice, so I am happy overall. I think the capacity is needlessly low, won't effect me personally but I want as many cheaper seats as possible. I don't like the wrap design at all. Seems like a fad that will probably look shit in 20 years. Would prefer a classic stadium design more akin to the Emirates, Spurs, or even Everton's new ground. But this part of the story might be bullshit anyway. I don't think transport links etc is an issue all (re: Gemmill's point). We have a rail station on a main line and an international airport, we have a metro system most cities don't have. And the new location is still a stone's throw away from literally hundreds of pubs, restaurants, and hotels. I'd say we are better placed than 90% of clubs.
  4. Enjoy mate. Think Belgium is one of the most under-rated countries ion the World personally. My family seems to have avoided the graves in the low country, although my great grandfather is buried somewhere in Turkey after Gallipoli.
  5. The puzzling thing for me is we could achieve 65k by expanding the Gallowgate. Which would keep us in our spiritual home and be cheaper. I don't see the point of moving under those circumstances.
  6. Emirates is expanding to 80k btw.
  7. 70k seems like a better capacity to me. Why expand later? Sounds like 65k is to restrain capacity, create demand and increase ticket prices through FOMO.
  8. Bubble wrap skin like Bayern Munich? BORING. It's a no from me.
  9. My brother is NHSE and I'm currently off to join an adjacent NHS quango, unprotected. So it's a concern. I would say, from personal experience, that there has been a lot of duplication between the likes of NHSE and NHS Digital which could be streamlined. I've also witnessed first hand some really bad clinical decision making from NHSE resulting in millions not being spent cost effectively., because they don't understand health economics. Despite this and contrary to popular red top beliefs, the NHS is still one of the most administratively efficient health services in the World. I hope any redundancies are voluntary and properly planned. Given the grade you said your Mam was on KD she will get paid an absolute fortune if she was made redundant. Honestly, in that scenario it's more likely they'll find another role for her, especially if she is near retirement.
  10. Got to be said though, the collective forward players we've had is quite impressive. I was curious to find a Sunderland version with Quinny and Phillipsy but alas no, can't find one. But then I stumbled across this magnificent piece of work. Doesn't even scan the hopeless knackers.
  11. Unused, bargain. Can I have a cheeky one of a female tennis player with no knickers hitching her skirt instead?
  12. There's this bronze metal 3D topographical map I've also really liked when I've seen it. Like this one on Etsy. Mind, I could get a canny few of CT's mugs for that price.
  13. I've just uploaded mine and asked it what job role I was best suited for. Oh my.
  14. If that's successful sounds like whatever job you're applying for will be made redundant in 6 months by AI. 👍
  15. No wonder Krul and Harper were shit too, way off their lines. Ah well, I'll buy the Lake District "Tube Map" instead. 👍
  16. Yeah, I'm not sure what metric they used tbf. Seems pretty biased towards the premier league era to say the least, which is odd since we've won bot all. weirdly as well, they had a special "Boldon Edition"?
  17. So before the World ends, I fancy getting some art work for my new study. Was walking past the Baltic at lunch time and saw this. It's kind of like a Wordle heat map of NUFC players. Opinions, canny or shite?
  18. Mandela effect. Your lass has just unwittingly proved we live in the Matrix or summat. She's gone an done it now, not be long until the World rips apart in storm of quantum disambiguation.
  19. Fuck The Mackems. Cultural appropriation at its best, steal their only slogan off them, sit back and enjoy the fewm. Let's make some FTM black and white pin badges. 👍
  20. Aye but still. As long as we get Taylor Swift from the mackems. Imagine the fewm marra!
  21. Yeah, shouldn't be that much, but I can see 400 million being possible given the complexities and constraints of the site. The last extension cost 80 million if you inflate it to today's prices, but construction has gone up insanely. All the stuff about underpinning the foundations etc. I'm no structural engineer mind but neither are the geniuses at the Sun I guess. A new stadium of 70k upwards to the spec of Spurs one would be more than a billion like.
  22. Aye, the ManU proposals aren't happening. It looks shit brand new, can you imagine the state of it after a few Mancunian winters? Hopefully we'll find out about SJP soon enough (next month). I got a video about it from the Sun last night starring PL's favourite son Adam Pearson of all people. They were saying a Gallowgate extension was >£1 billion for an extra 13k seats. My maths isn't great but that's £77k a seat! It would take a century to break even. But then they were also saying a new stadium would be £2 billion. None of this makes financial sense apart from as a vanity project tbh. Who knows what the future of FFP even is, surely it can't be the motivation to spunk up this amount of cash?
