People have suggested that one way of resolving our trade difficulties was to apply the NI protocol to the whole UK. Erm no, the NI protocol was a special dispensation because of the history of that area, applying it UK wide would be cakeism. Turns out half the population of NI don't like cake.

FFS. Quick, we need to quickly scrap the NI protocol to level down Norn Iron.

Selling it! I'm not sure I've heard any of the programmes on that list.

I really enjoyed the first 2 series of HT but just lost interest after that because it didn't seem to be going anywhere. That was years ago so doubt I could pick up where I left off.
-
I've watched it twice. Enjoyed it more the second time, as I did for BB, because I understood the connections and motivations of the central characters so much more, and started noticing the detail. As Gloom says it's beautifully shot and the attention to detail is insane. For me thesde series are by far the best things that have ever been on television which is actually a bit of a problem, because nothing else matches them. You say you're 7 episodes in to S1 which means you must have seen episode 5 (Five-O). If that didn't float your boat I'd definitely jack it in as its not for you.

It'll never catch on.

I want France to win because I'm a bit of a francophile and I'm not that keen on Argentina or the Messi hype. But mainly because: Ginola, Robert, Arfa, Cabaye, ASM >>>>>>> Ardiles, Colocinni, Guitierez.

Peak mackem was when the absolute chancers got them to replace the stadium seats for free. Never in my life has the world witnessed such weird sycophancy as this. And it was soo fucking obvious what con men they were.

This has to ve some kind of record for a footy board surely? Some toddlers will be facing GCSEs this summer in the time it has taken to respond to this. 😃

These imagined scenarios are so deranged they're funny.

What a weapons grade prick this lad is.

That would be Argentina. Was listening to the Newsagents podcast last week where they were talking to some French people and really there isn't too much animosity from their pov, they just think we're odd and a bit obsessed. We are like mackems to them, as this tweet kind of illustrates. Anyway, allez les bleus on Sunday. l🇫🇷

Gullis has just said that the gammons from his constituency (Stoke) are really concerned about people coming over in small boats. Isn't Stoke one of the most land-locked cities in the UK? It really is Top of the Cunts with this lot. "Now coming in from number 9 to earn the top spot over Christmas, it's Jonathon Gullis!"

Very well put. 👏

I work in the Helix (Science city), previously the brewery site (just behind the Sandman). The plot would have been large enough for a stadium of just about any size. Mind, I think it was a 20 to 30 year project and was ear marked for the current purpose a long, long time ago, I would have though before Ashley even. Plus don't forget that the Leazes/Milburn stand had not long been engineered and would have been a large part of Ashley's investment. I'm not going to blame him on this one but yeah, in retrospect, perhaps a missed opportunity going back more to the Hall years.

Yep. I'm sure part of the vested interest is that France is hardly incentivised to stop these crossings. But as you say if you can identify the pilot I don't understand why you can't arrest and detain the in the UK and snuff this out. Unless, as I suspect, it not mainly orgainised smugglers but ad hoc chancers. Anyway, it's been shown that Sunak's plans are illegal under the ECHR so if he wants to implement them he will have to join Belarus in being the only European country that is not a signatory. Oops, sorry, Russia joined that list in 2022. What esteemed company we will keep. The Good Friday Agreement would become void as well so all in all a great time to be alive for the ERG fruitloops.

How about

Read his post again.

Agreed, they love a wedge issue, but this is what I meant by being worried what the tories will do next to survive. Patel and Johnson are now both sponsoring a bill for us to leave the ECHR. No doubt if it happens Starmer will convince himself its a good thing and we can't reverse it. NOT DEFENDING THATCHER here but no way would she have got involved in shit like this.
-
Yeah Dougle. But don't forget to turn the pitch around.

Hadaway and shite man. It was entertaining enough but had the depth of coronation street. I was hoping for some kind of twist that never came. To come out with this nonsense the year that the finale of Better Call Saul came out is quite something. 👍

Not sure what you think you are reading. I agree with all that you've posted. Just think the current state of charlatans are even worse. And not in a continuity sense. In a completely incompetent and corrupt sense, as well as pure evil ideologically (the ones that even bother to have any ideals). Blair inherited a salvageable situation. I'm not sure Starmer will.

She used specific and selective lies maybe. She lied about the closure list, not to mention she co-opted the police as a political weapon. I dunno though, I thought at the time it was obvious what she was about, and people accepted it anyway. She said there was no such thing as society openly, and people were happy with that. She ultimately delivered what she promised, which was a much worse version of the country than I wanted, but it was a country that worked on some level. I just think Johnson and his aftermath are on a different level.

Giving her credit is the wrong term, but she was a major driver behind the formation of the single market as it became known. As Alex says, she didn't throw the economy under the bus and her beliefs were coherent and evidence based, even if I don't agree with them. And whilst all your points are valid, I don't recall her being a liar in the way Johnson and the wider tory party now are. I keep on saying it, but it is the death of truth that has well and truly fucked this country imo. Its spread like a contagion so even the opposition are infected. At the end of the day, you knew what you got with Thatcher and you could make an informed choice based on that. And people did. And it proved most people are selfish cunts in this country. But the country was functional. Now it is literally falling apart.
