Nearer £4 for 7 at said mentioned bargain shops (don't buy branded). Honestly, they will literally prevent you getting any nausea provided you act within reason, pretty much a miracle drug and well worth it. I'd pay 10 times that personally when I was drinking (don't need them now).

Gaviscon is shite, it doesn't address the underlying issue. Trust me, I'm in the (legal) drug peddling game.

He's right like. Any PPI will do such as omeprazole, esomeprazole, pantoprazole. Get them at the supermarket, pharmacists, or cheapest at B&M or Home Bargains. Less than a quid a tablet, next day you will be cured. Brilliant for hangovers too.

That's going to wonders for his fear.

Well, yeah, that sound unbearably shite. Mine have always been in decent restaurants with 60 maximum, and no fucking music or dancing.

To be fair Fish, who started it, was called a fanny too. Poor Fish.

Weren't those Godforth Park Hotel events a throw you car keys in the punch bowl type thing? That's what I heard, anyway.

I'm half with you. But then with so much remote working it kind of seems more important than ever to at least make the effort, especially if you're employer has forked out a couple of hundred quid on you. Honestly think it would probably impact on my employment prospects if I avoided it altogether too. Turn up, be nice, have meal, leave. Don't think I would ever enjoy it as such though. With alcohol, worried about the fear the next day, as per Gloom, without alcohol, well, it's just a bit boring I've just found out. Doesn't help that most my colleagues are quite a bit younger than me either, that's the crux of the problem, fucking the relentless passing of time and turning into an old git.

6.9 cm I heard.

Oh aye! You're right.

Jason, yep, you've nailed it (the J in J69 I reckon).

Fuck me., we're getting old. I remember you were the first person to reply to me back in the day, when you had a different moniker and Barry Venison as your avatar. Back then you were a complete care free pot head. Look at what you've become!

Got to be Jordan.

Also change his status to "Articulated serial killer". Wait, MF is a mod isn't he? I take it back. 👍

The diagnosis from probably the only qualified person on the subject on this board.

OCD and anxiety are very closely related. I also have OCD, my Dad did too. Got to the stage I can't stand next to a Metro platform for fear I'm going to jump in front of a train, or worse, push someone else into its path! Or one little thing of no consequence just riles me all day. Pain in the arse tbh.

Fish, the best cure for it is a dose of this place. I strongly DO NOT recommend become a full blown alcoholic for a couple of weeks, that is rather unpleasent.
-
In all seriousness, it sounds like low grade generalised anxiety to me. Welcome to my World, it sucks.

Just seen this now. I wouldn't care if I was as rich as Gates, Bezos, and Musk combined, I wouldn't eat in this cunt's restaurant out of principle, the massive fucking cunt.

Some T&Cs working for industry, as well as pay, shit all over what the NHS can offer (a/l and pensions being exceptions, but even they are okay). It's also funny, but working for a large trust (>16,000 employees in that alone) is much more corporate than somewhere like I am presently, and I hate the corporate side of things. Fucking weraring collared shirts, proper shoes, and nightmare HR to contend with. I don't find my work as challenging or academically rewarding as before, but everything else is better including complete freedom to wfh or go in, whenever I want. In contrast the trust made me go in during the pandemic for no justifiable reason at all given ewhat I do. Truth is I can't afford to work in the NHS or academia now anyway. NHS staff deserrve to be paid much, much more imo. And teachers. And police. And council workers. Etc. But not those people in Longbenton cos fuck knows what they do other than shuffle papers and play with paper clips all day long.

Well done mate, happy Xmas.

I got my first proper job this time of year, following 3 years of stacking shelves in Safeways. Was a fantastic Xmas. Good luck.
