  1. Btw, the idea that Sue Gray, who was appointed to the enquiry by fucking Johnson, was/is some type of mole for the Starmer is so laughably stupid, I don't know where to begin. Please, please, just fuck off the lot of yous, and let the country start its recovery. But then, I guess this type of conspiracy plot will appeal to the usual nutters. Again in the Newsagents, they had this American journalist who estimated that about 30% of the population was now so far down the right wing conspiracy rabbit hole they were beyond saving. Not even Fox or Trump can control them. I mentioned it before, but one of Mrs Rents friends has become a so called free thinker. The gateway seems to be the anti-vaxxer stuff for many. Now she laps it all up, huge NHS conspiracy, con trails, the lot. And oddly at the same time she is now turned into a massive racist and is obsessed by immigration. Oh, and she idolises Euphemia Moneyshot. If the UK follows the US into the 30% territory, what the fuck do we do?
  2. Despite his past, I find Nick Robinson to be quite a fair robust interviewer. On R4 at least. Really enjoying the News Agents podcasst at the moment. Goodall, Soppel, and Maithis pull no punches on Johnson and the tories now they're free of the shackles of the beeb.
  3. Loves a high Viz vest does Matt.
  4. The more I think about it, the more I like calling Isabel Oakeshot Euphemia Moneyshot. If one of you lads has any social media links with Led by Donkeys or Oh God What Now, etc, please let them know. Because her second name clearly bothers her. I only knew of it because it was on her wiki page just yesterday. Looked today, and its gone! Still, you can't erase your name from government documents that easily.
  5. He absolutely should be. And if Euphemia Moneyshot is tried for treason, that woulf be even funnier.
  6. Like I said, the situation with Corbyn was very different. Brexit is not the issue it once was, and Sunak is not Johnson.
  7. I know. But first, I'd discount what happened to Corbyn, he was obviously unelectable and an easy target for the press. But with Starmer, well yes, they are well ahead in the polls on a manifesto purely of not being the tories. Where's the counterfactual if he was a bit braver? We don't know, but I recall with Blair the red tops saw which way the wind was blowing (the Sun in particular) and backed himas aresult as much as any pact he had with them. I'd ignore the Mail in any case, they will never be onside.
  8. Reminds me of the cowardice under Miliband when he wouldn't speak the truth out against austerity. That worked out well. Sometimes there is more to be gained by being brave. And supporting PR is another thing they should be doing, while I'm at it. Or is Starmer actually just a nother self seving cunt who more interested in political power than what's good for the country?
  9. Smell what? Alright then, rule it out for a parliamentary term (because as I say, we know it's impossible within these time frames). Or do what they are doing now, piss off twice as many people and alienate tyhe younger voter base.
  10. But the proportion thinking the opposite is, or will be, twice as large? I'm not asking Labour to be full on rejoin, I don't even think its possible. I'm just asking them not to fucking rub salt into my wounds by endlessly placating the gammons with utterly needless red lines. Cos I am not far now from spongebob's position of saying fuck you, I can't vote for you any more.
  11. I'd be happy to have an EU passport like you. And actually once the status quo settles NI could be very well placed economically. Not sure where you have gotten your data from. By the next GE (next year), there will not be 44% of people thinking we were right to leave the EU (actually already only 38% in the latest poll). Slightly different question here, less than a third think Brexit was a good idea and the trend is obvious. In hindsight, do you think Britain was right or wrong to vote to leave the European Union? (January 2020 to February 2023)
  12. Are you in Caroline Lucas's constituency? I'd vote for her if I was. Otherwise, I dunno. Maybe get Labour in and see if they drift toward the SM for next GE? Because realistically we are at least a decade away from thinking about the SM. In reality though, I'm afraid the longer we are out, the harder it will be to rejoin as we inevitably diverge and the EU federalise. I also just can't see any mechanism for SM access now, we're too big for a Norway type status. Even if all the EU countries were supportive (seems unlikely), I don't think the EU itself could countenance the democratic deficit such a position would cause to the population of the UK (oh the irony). And rejoining the EU without the rebate, accepting the euro and Schenghen? I'm not sure that will happen in my lifetime tbh. Makes me livid what these ciunts have done.
  13. I feel similar. The fact we feel like this is positive prood Labour are alienating voters like us. Just a reminder here: NOBODY ever voted to leave the SM or the CU. The large majority of voters now (2:1 ratio and increasing) think Brexit was a mistake. And yet here we have Reeve and Starmer with their fucking pathetic, needless, red lines. And not being funny @ewerk, for you personally, you are gaining from this as you benefit from being in the SM and still have your FoM. What about the rest of us? What about people in Scotland, who voted against Brexit in even greater number than NI? How anyone in Scotland can bear this current situation is beyond me like.
  14. Oh aye. Just thought it was quite clever how Flynn gamed it, paiting Starmer as a bigger Brexiteer than Sunak. Fwiw I think the SNP are probably fucked without NS and I expect Labour gains, but they need to be careful on the Brexit issue to realise this.
  15. Hmmmm, a gif of an orgasmic colonel Gadaffi on the vinegar strokes being showered with hotdog precipitation against a psychedelic backdrop of a skinned Elmo. Right, that's it done, I've acomplished everything I need in life, there's nothing left.
  16. At PMQs it was Flynn who made the obvious point about NI having SM access being a good thing being an obvious contradiction. He used it to attack Starmer though, which was canny.
  17. Her middle name is hilarious, Euphemia! As vile a person as she is, I've got to admit to having certain proclivities to activities involving her and her equally vile partner in my mind, Michelle Mone.
  18. I agree with your premise in theory but not in practice. Any effects of defrosting relationships with the EU will not be felt before a GE. This particular deal will have little impact on mainland UK. And whilst Sunak may foster closer relations with the EU, he can't shout that from the roof tops, because the head bangers are still there. He can't claim closer relations are linked to a better economy, even if this is true (Number 10 disowned this fact yesterday). Plus Starmer has made all the same mood music already, and will back Sunak in the commons vote. However, this does make him look like a pragmatic, "normal" politician which might be positive at this point. Which is fair enough. Sunak is odd. On the News Agents podcast yesterday, Soppell and Goodall were trying to even work out why Sunak is a Brexiter. As a thatcherite, free marketeer, technocrat, it makes little sense. Best guess is he spotted the mood music early and chose sides accordingly, which actually makes him a pretty shrewd operator.
  19. What I do for a living mate. And yeah, I disagree.
  20. My first thought was to laugh, love the way you always add current into your spousal descriptions. Second thought was fucking hell, we're all getting old. Third thought was, fucking hell, you're costing the NHS nearly a thousand quid a month to keep alive. Fucking monoclonal antibodies, not like in my day, t'was all good old reliable small molecule drugs back then [\Hovis tune to fade]
  21. I remember you saying to me a while back why not just have 2 or 3 on an evening and you may have well just been talking mandarin, I couldn't comprehend doing this at the time. Used to justify my binges by my long stints of abstinence, I'm a "famine or feast" kind of bloke, etc. I'm glad for those stints of abstinence as it probably saved my liver amongst other things, but man can binge drinking still fuck your brain in the longer-term. I'm realistic enough to know I can't really ever enjoy booze again like I used to after what I've been through, but as I said it's massively liberating to know going forward this is through choice not necessity. Of course on the flip side you also quickly realise that quitting or controlling booze is not a panacea and the reason you've been doing this is because life in fucking hard whether you're sober or drunk. But without drink its very likely you'll become higher functioning and your anxiety and depression will likely improve, and definitely not worsen. This place helps, was a God send to me last summer. Good luck Craig, reaching out is the start of getting on top of things.
  22. An excuse to get this gif out again.
  23. Sorry to hear that. A break from it might do you some good by the sounds of it. As for myself, I'm at a place I never thought would happen. After a few months of occasionally bad cravings last year, they've now completely disappeared. The key was after 5 months was actually responsibly having a pint and the odd glass of wine whilst on holiday (talked through with wife). Reason being at the time I didn't want to be defined by the addiction, and was curious. Plus I suspected the alcohol was a symptom of my problems, not a cause. Now I am sure of this. So I enjoyed the taste, had zero desire to get drunk or even have that "just one" extra drink. Now with the realisation alcohol isn't forbidden, I feel completely in control of it and I can choose not to drink based purely on rational thought processes (i.e. knowing in my case it can lead me to very dark places and for me personally the hangover is NEVER worth the pleasure anyway). No cravings at all, ever. If we'd won on Sunday I might have has a couple of glasses of champagne, but I never really wanted to drink during the match, as despite the stress, I knew it wouldn't make me happy. So why drink at all and "risk it" I guess is a fair question. Again, just comes back down to not wanting to define myself like this, not wanting to count days, weeks, months, or even years of abstinence. I'm now just someone who chooses most the time not to drink, and that is so liberating. So anyway Craig yes, give yourself a reset. I can vouch as well that alcohol free beers are pretty good now too. Might take a few weeks but it could help lift the fog and won't make things worse, that's for sure.
  24. It's a great deal and tbf Sunak has done well brokering this. Thing is, the rest of the country are increasingly seeing what a bunch on unreasonable headbangers the DUP and ERG are now. I await the "Star Chamber's" ( ) verdict on tenterhooks.
