There's no requirement for publication following a PhD, but it is normally and I'd go so far to say its expected, especially if the person is staying in academia. In science though it will be a paper in a journal, not a book. Brittania Unchained is utter drivel, and Kwrteng (and Truss) are both co-authors, so he doesn't impress me. It is a mystery to me though. A lot of this tory intake have excellent qualifications on paper, but appear to be thick as pigshit. Something is going wrong at Oxbridge.

Yeah, that's why I don't want a recall. I'm genuinely looking forwards to LIz "PORK MARKETS!" Truss's maiden PM speech.
-
Hey man, don't call the ERG the opposite of clever, they have the STAR CHAMBER!
-
This is unreal. Kwarteng is asking the markets not to bet against the pound. Oh, alright then Kwasi mate. https://news.sky.com/story/kwasi-kwarteng-to-hold-meeting-with-city-bankers-as-fall-out-from-mini-budget-continues-12706734

IMF is a left wing organisation who are scared of Liz Truss. Apparently.
-
Didn't take long for the nutters to turn on the IMF, an organisation we help found and play a prominent role in. They are in their death throws and all we can do is watch.
-
See previous page. Andrew Lillico got there first, Hannan isn't even original in this thought. Meanwhile, in reality, Labour is gaining loads of corporate backers at its annual conference.
-
So, if this budget has to pass the commons (I don't know if it does because I can't find any information on this), do we think it wil get through considering the IMF intervention and the conflict of the BoE. Surely this will be the final straw for 40+ tories? Surely that many actually care about the country?

He genuinely is into football mind. Probably just not expecting the curveball, which will now be healine news in the Sun, Mail and Express and R5 won't shut up about it. I wouldn't have a clue who England should play up front. Still, get your priorities right.

Getting a huge amount of coverage this. Tories are so fucked.

Maybe it's to make them feel at home. I reckon the scousers will get it.

Some guy on the radio said it may have been timed to coincide with the opening of the new Norway-Poland pipeline tomorrow, as a warning. I assume NATO must have some submrine presence in the Baltic?

And this is the reality of interest rates going up next month (all but confirmed).

This is amusing.

Think that's the mackems marra.

Probably the easiest thing to do given the circumstances and give Labour back the iniative on the moral high ground but not sure what she said warrants this ans smacks of the authoitarian thought police.

She's lost the whip. Talk about zero tolerance.

Can the country really wait until the 23rd November for these cunts to respond? I doubt it.

Just a bit underwhelmed, I will of course vote for him and hope for more when he's in power.

I'm not sure about this personally. We've gone beyond that. No solutions to our rotten constitution, no solution to Brexit. Tinkering around the edges just doesn't cut it for me.
-
Not sure I see the point here. Just turn off the taps.

What's happening with Nord Stream?
