  1. This has surpassed all expectations of craziness. The thing is, in my real life, almost nobody I know is really bothered. Some of my daughter's friends' parents were a bit upset nut then they are properly active in the CofE so I can sort of understand it, like a catholic when the pope dies. One of my mates travelled to Edinburgh to see the funeral cortege and sent me a slow motion video of it. He has had the piss ripped out of him on my WhatsApp group, taken it okay tbf. Think his family may have military connections (although he certainly doesn't personally). And that's it. School (de facto CofE) and even the kid's brownies and guides not been affected. I think the large silent majority are just sick of it and want to get on. Also suspect there may be a backlash once this period ends.
  2. Sticking it to the elite by queueing 50 hours with a 4 year old to see the coffin of the dead head of the elite.
  3. Consensus seems to be Labour will be rubbing their hands with glee. Looks like Truss and co intend to rob the country as much as possible in the next 2 years before waving goodbye. This is consistent with the energy price cap. Put the bill on tick and leave it to the next (Labour) governent to sort out. It's going to be another throughly miserable decade chaps.
  4. Naaah, I don't buy that at all. This will need to go through Parliament and will be visible for all to see on the statute. In fact, I think this might have trouble passing Parliament. Can't see red wall tories being happy.
  5. Yeah, the poor bankers are only allowed bonuses which are 200% of their salary under EU rules. Now that we've left, the first tangible "benefit" of Brexit (besides the freedom to pump shit in our rivers) is to scrap this. I actually don't get it, the optics are unreally bad. You've got to assume they have given up hope on winning another term and are going scorched Earth?
  6. It's a discretionary holiday, and GPs are effectively private contractors. Plus makes much more sense to give days of in lieu rather than cancel medical appointments that may jeopardise people's health.
  7. 🎵 Liz is in a box, Liz is in a [checks] solid mohogany draped in Royal Standard box" 🎶 Okay, that's as disrespectful as I want to go. Look what you made me do!
  8. Downing Street has vowed to respond to the European Union’s legal action over the Northern Ireland Protocol ahead of the deadline that falls during the mourning period for the Queen, PA Media reports. PA says: "The bloc had demanded a response to its raft of infringement proceedings over the UK’s failure to comply with the post-Brexit rules before the end of Thursday. The EU was expected to relax the deadline, as it fell within the mourning period during which politics as normal is paused in Britain".
  9. This actually makes me angry, this shit is having a real impact on peoples' lives. This country desperately needs to get a grip.
  10. Yes, the BBC are live streaming the coffin, as mentioned on previous page. That's my weekend entertainment sorted.
  11. Oh aye, and of course it won't mean bigger chocolate bars etc. Apparently you will still be able to get BOGOF deals on junk food, when was the last time you saw one of those?
  12. Have you noticed the lack of choice in crisps since Brexit? Can't get any of my favourites anywhere, some, like Brannigans, have ceased to exist. Saw a packet of pickled onion in the local newsagents yesterday so bought it, fucking 80 pence, ya fucker!
  13. I've not witnessed a single thing here that anything is different. It's definitely a Southern thing.
  14. Some crazy yanks too. One just said he never had a chance to meet the queen before, so maybe now he would get the chance. Errr....
  15. You're not allowed to bring any creature comforts like foldable chairs either. I hope it pisses down personally, but then I'm a cunt.
  16. Seems like a completely proportionate use of time and resources so people can catch a glimpse of a wooden box draped in canvas.
  17. Truss not making much of a bump according to this and I can't see people liking her any more the more they know of her. Today she is planning to scrap the governmants anti-obesity strategy, which cause the NHS even more problems in the future. Genius.
  18. Fair point, although I guess now the queen is not their boss in any sense. Will they be as willing to tell themselves this lie for Charles?
  19. This is satire apparently but I find it hard to disagree.
  20. They are. Like socialists they're also pathetic, and it's difficult to imagine how they could survive in the wild.
