On the other hand, I've seen interviews with muslim Americans who either won't vote democrat or will actively support Trump. The same Trump who moved the US embassy to Jerusalem and who literally banned muslims travelling to the US. We know the democrats are stuck between a rock and a hard place regarding Israel and Gaza. Dometic politics means they can't come out against Israel in the way they should. But what the fuck do they think they will achieve by electing Trump, how is that better for them? I hope they don't complain when the orange cunt interns them in concentration camps.

I remember that, you coming back from San Francisco and looking at house prices and thinking what the fuck? I fucked up with my usual lack of confidence. Instead of buying the most expensive house I could afford initially, and probably still living there and being nearly mortgage free by now, I've moved house four fucking times. Waste of time, money and a lot of stress. Still, will be paid up in 10 years when I hope to retire.
-
Yep, and high inflation quickly decreases the relative payments on your house and at the same time house values multiplied massively. The only relevant metric is House value to income ratio, and in better areas that completely screws millenials and gen Zers. I'm kind of on the cusp of this, but I really appreciate its been easier for me than people 10, 20, or 30 years younger. I hope I never become like a boomer cunt.
-
A bit childish, no, very childish. But anyway.
-
Also the notion that the baby boomer generation has been "hung out to dry". Never has there been a more privelged and entitled generation than these cunts. I hope their boat sinks without trace.

Agreed although I think your over pessimistic on Labour's re-election chances. Who are going to beat Labour at the polls? Badenoch, Farage? Really?

One of my mates (well, a mate of a mate really) accidentally forwarded a rude joke to the entire trust (probably in excess of 10,000 inboxes). Cause major IT issues and substantial offence. He was disciplined and demoted, was a bit of a miracle he wasn't sacked but then the trust were short on pharmacists at the time. He was a funny lad as it happened. Would definitely be dismissed in these days of heightened sensitivites.

Thoughts on budget? Critics to the left of me, critics to the right, who'd have thunk it?
-
Aye, the NHS too. And I've had another ballache trying to get a ticket to download for tonight's match again*. Bring back fucking paper tickets. * Before Gemmill or someone else mocks me for being IT illiterate, the box office have confirmed its a problem on their side affecting everyone in my situation. Still took them 15 minutes to resolve whilst I was there.

Never knew this was a thing. Every day is a school day. And yes, it's better.

Love a bit of Larrson. I can remember reading his books in my student days stoned and laughing hysterically. Mind, the same was true for Garfield so..... Another one:
-
This is much funnier for people who actually know you.

3 GW is twice what Blyth power station was in its heyday mind. That was a canny big power station. I thought SMRs maxed out at around 300 MW.
-
All he was trying to do was make a change for the better, and you're breaking his balls, man. You'll be gunning for John Bolton next.
-
I don't think he claims to be a great person, but he was only in office for 11 days so nor would I associate him with that shit.
-
AYe, that's concerning. I feel maybe the Gen Xers like myself and millenials don't really care, but it casuses issues with the Gen Zers and the boomers who have fuck all else to do.
-
I wonder too if culture war stuff really is here to stay? Who under the age of 65 gives a single fuck about it? I don't know anyone who does (I mean from a Daily Mail slant).

Well, the collective aim of all this is to produce economic growth and raise living standards and quality of life. This is done incrementally. The sad truth is it can't be done as a revolution because the markets will fuck the country over if we try that because GDP/debt ratio is up the shitter. Two other things. I was thinking last night, I think the reason for aggressive tax rises now (but still within the manifesto) is to get the pain done quickly, which will lead to better economic outcomes in the longer term (for instance, tax more now to pay for the NHS to increase productivity and pay for much needed essential infrastructure). We're 4 1/2 years away from a GE so hopefully in that timeframe there will be some dividends and feel good factor. Secondly, look at the opposition and their leaders man. There is zero chance of either of those ridiculous charlatans leading the tories to victory, imho, of course. You may disagree.
-
That's just an illustration of how you filfthy standers do things.
-
Petrol will increase at some point, it always does. I don't disagree with you btw, but you increase fuel duty and the gammons are howling at the moon. It also inevitably has a knock on effect to the rest of the economy because 99% of goods are tranported by road. And then there is th e town vs rural debate - many rural communities have no bus services operating so no benefit of subsidised bus fares for those residents who you propose to hit with fuel duty to compound this. Nothing is simple.
-
Aren't most buses paid by tapping you card nowadays? Honestly, I thought they were moving to cashless because it must be a PITA for drivers to handle cash but might be wrong. Pensioners get bus fares free which is great for their social lives and independence. Low paid workers should benefit more from the NMW increase which should outweigh an extra tenner a week on transport. I don't have any knowledge of the economics behind the scheme, but obviously someone has to pay it and there are always trade offs (including the political optics).
-
On reflection I thionk a rise to £2.50 would have been better and fair - more in line with inflation. Should also be expanded to local rail. As for fuel duty, nothing is more politically toxic than this for some reason. Interesting nobody is highlighting anything more positive here - increase in minimum wage, the beginning of healthcare reforms. Not to mention: The formation of a national wealth fund. Rail Nationalisation bill. School breakfast clubs. Onshore wind farms. Planning applications reform to encourage new housing. Employment rights bill. Water special measures bill. Scrapping Rwanda, border security command. Cessation of sales of arms to Israel. Probably a few things I have forgotten, but we're only 3 months in, yet it's like reading the Daily Mail thisplace sometimes with the negativity.

Why would Arnold Palmer need to use a petrol station bathroom?
-
Torness is a fake power station. All nuclear is, ask Wolfy. There are no power lines coming out of Torness. It's a hologram.
-
Rising to £3 and still free to all pensioners? I mean ateod someone's got to subsidise this, there's no cap on the Metro and trains which I use. Maybe there should be mind. The cap was/is great in the lakes mind, cut family fares of over £20-30 to £8 for us.
