Steve McClaren sacked as Newcastle United 'Head Coach' (Manager)
Alex replied to Tooj's topic in Newcastle Forum
Have a fucking word with yourself. Every penny he's gotten and will get when sacked is more than he deserves. I bet he's at least £3m better off for doing an absolutely abysmal job in his time here -
If the likes of Moyes and Benitez are genuinely interested now, given our current predicament, it only reinforces how incompetent the club's hierarchy were in appointing McClaren in the first place.

Seems like a really intelligent family.

Hughton was doing a good job but Pardew was earmarked for the role weeks before he got it. The regime just waited for a few bad results as an excuse. The situation with McClaren is completely different. They should've been sounding out potential replacements for a bloke who had the team in and around the bottom 3 for the entire season though. Well before it got to this stage. -

Laughable comparison anyway. Btw, this is beyond farcical now. -

You've touched on arguably the biggest issue there, Fish. The short-termism endemic within the club and the inability to see the bigger picture. -

Was posted in the other thread but aye, it's completely laughable -

I get the feeling Carr was initially better when he was 'just a scout' and now his role is in effect a Director of Football and I'm not convinced he has the credentials for that role. He certainly seems to have Ashley's ear and had a lot to do with bringing in McClaren. Could be other factors at work like but what have Charnley and Carr done in the past to show they can run a club the size of Newcastle? -
What a load of shit you talk

Don Howe definitely used to refer to them as such, aye.

Wearing his Everlast ski jacket. I can't understand Ashley delegating this btw. Or completely delegating it. It's probably the most important decision in the recent history of the club -

McClaren can fuck off tbh. The club are behaving in their normal, totally unprofessional manner but the 'exasperated' Schteve is only hanging around for his big pay-off. I don't blame him but I've got very little sympathy for him either. Going on like this is hell ffs. He'll be walking off with a few million quid for being completely inept -
I wouldn't be surprised if Redknapp was in the mix. Which would be a damning indictment on Ashley's tenure given he was supposedly approached when KK was appointed. To go back for a bloke eight years later after his stock has fallen so much would parallel the decline in the status and reputation of the football club since then.

With a new manager a point at Leicester isn't out of the question. They're under a lot of pressure despite what they might want those outside the club to believe and the last couple of home games they've drawn with WBA and sneaked a win against Norwich. With McClaren it's another write-off -

He doesn't really seem the type to walk away from all that money like. You're not the only ones who's made that argument but I don't agree with the logic behind it. -

Aye, my eldest loves the place. That and the Flying Scotsman are his favourites. He's only 4 like so I'll let him off -
Always makes me think of Mad Mike Banks (Mike / Jonathan Banks). Anyway.... Aye, he's a good character.
