  1. I think a lot of stats are useful from an analytical point of view. Without being particularly interesting to the layman in a lot of cases. I don’t even think this falls into that category tbh. It’s fairly subjective as to what a ‘scan’ is and I’m not sure how the fuck you could count it over the course of a match for every player. So comparing players goes out the window to an extent. Then I’m sure most of the top players have a better memory and are just able to process that visual information quicker than your average player. All of which makes just counting how many times someone looks around fucking ludicrous.
  2. You just need to go past it on the train to see it’s not a big enough site
  3. Presumably that was before he moved to South Shields
  4. Once helped a mate move from Melbourne Court in town to a place near Chilly Road. He’s sound but to say he needs a rocket up his jacksie at times is an understatement. I knew it was going to be a long day when I turned up and most of his stuff hadn’t even packed his (now ex) lass, who was also moving was a right miserable fucker too. I don’t even think she spoke the whole time, let alone said thanks
  5. NJS has mentioned it before. Fully explains his feelings towards them iyam 😂
  6. “Charva” is Romani / traveler dialect iirc.
  7. Scullery for kitchen as well
  8. Think they’re set to win a lot more seats this time round though. About 40 iirc. It would be interesting to see how they’d do with PR. I think a lot of people have shifted to Labour because they’re the only alternative in terms of who can form a government. And a lot to Reform because the promises of Brexit haven’t been fulfilled on things like immigration. No doubt Nefillim is a fan too
  9. My grandma and grandad would’ve used most of those words too. He was from Hazelrigg but lived for most of his life in Burradon. He was a miner but not at Burradon or Weetslade but Seaton Burn. My mam actually still refers to the rabbit dottles on her front lawn My granny had lovely roses but she put tea leaves from used tea bags on them as well as egg shells. I don’t remember rabbit or sheep shit though Netty was in common usage. We actually used kets at school. Bullets too to mean sweets. My partner’s mam and dad are from up that way - North Seaton / Newbiggin by the Sea. Their accents have mellowed but he still uses stuff like ‘oxter’ to mean armpit. Her mam’s older brother who died a few years back lived in Newbiggin all his life and rolled his Rs. It’s a beautiful accent imo
  10. Me granny (from Burradon) used to say “chebble” for table a lot of that generation from the village had more of a Northumberland than Geordie accent. Although not to the extent of rolling their Rs. Which has sadly all but died out even in places like Eshinton
  11. Bookies fancy an autumn election. But I did wonder if they’d decided things are only going to get worse for the Tories so would go earlier. I think there’s local / mayoral / police commissioner elections on May 2nd anyway. Wonder if they’ll go with that
  12. Cummings was supposed to be advising Sunak according to rumours. I suspect he’s not the genius he thinks he is and Sunak rapidly realised that. Whilst I also think what he says is true, it’s possibly sour grapes too
  13. Send him on loan to Sunderland and he’ll be worth about £30m within a few weeks 👍🏻
  14. It was more that a club with no actual financial issues might have to sell a local lad they’d rather keep / develop to satisfy FFP. I totally take your point though.
  15. Sounds like a name Bob Mortimer would make up
  16. Say, for argument’s sake that we wanted to keep Anderson. But FFP meant that any half decent bid would see him likely sold. Then wouldn’t that be a fucking ridiculous state of affairs?
  17. Still cracks me up that his real name is Tracy Marrow
  18. Brilliant news, mate. Chuffed for you and hope it’s as good as it sounds
  19. Set up by some shady investment company and a Brexiteer who has spent a lot of money on other right wing media outlets. The people behind it aren’t stupid. It’s payback jobs for the boys and to spread right-wing agenda under the guise of news. It was never meant to make money imo. Although it’s nice to see it’s not doing very well the losses are going into the back pockets of a right set of grifting cunts.
  20. Speaking of something for everyone, this is top notch mix of cheesy pop, hip-hop, house, disco, rave, soul party tunes: https://on.soundcloud.com/cEsRuA1qBjBczFC97
  21. Nice bit of budget coverage this am from Faisal Islam on the BBC. Making the seemingly bullshit claim that the public want lower taxes and a smaller state despite pressures on public services. Without providing any evidence. Then proceeding to ask if the public will blame the government for problems caused by the global economic climate and events like covid, which have caused a larger public sector. But didn’t mention Brexit being a cause of that too. And also failed to make reference to the self-inflicted stuff by Truss in relation economic pressures. Compare that to what you see on Channel 4 News and even GMTV. They’re an absolute fucking disgrace these days.
  22. He’d need to reverse it straight away imo and say it’s absolutely necessary to reverse the trend of public services failing. If he dithers it’ll be weaponised all the more
  23. Might’ve got the penalty but for the fucking ridiculous Steven Taylor-esque dive
