  1. It you shove enough of that shite up your nose, it’s very possible
  2. That and GB news. The de facto father in law said to me with a straight face this country has never been better and is considerably improved compared to 14 years ago. Worst part is I don’t even think he believes it himself. He just can’t bring himself to admit what his beloved Tories have done to the country his grandchildren have to grow up in
  3. Farage is basically that boring ‘controversial’ wanker that appears on here from time to time and gets eviscerated. Almost everything he says is carefully considered to be an allusion to racism without actually saying it. In order to provoke a ‘how is that racist?’ response from him and his followers if he’s called out as such. It never ceases to depress me that people can’t see right through him.
  4. As usual, very well observed. It doesn’t excuse his appalling philosophy but it does in part explain it. And it even makes sense re: the caricature that is JRM. He’s ‘nouveau riche’ compared to a true natural nasty posh cunt like Johnson. You also see it in the various guises of the trying way too hard Braverman, Badenoch and Truss. They’re all fucking mental, but that’s partly why they think it’s something to aspire to. I was privy to letters secretaries of state sent to then PM Johnson. The language then Foreign Secretary Truss used was like a ridiculous parody of someone trying to sound like a bonafide member of that set. With words like heft used instead of influence. The class system, starting with that jug-eared cunt, is the first thing I’d get rid of if I could.
  5. Du pain, du vin….
  6. Once this is out the way I think you’ll see them being more like their true selves. I.e. supporting whoever England are playing
  7. I’ve put GW back on
  8. I’m missing Gardener’s World for this shite
  9. Tbf, the Lib-Dems seem to have a similar strategy of not having a strategy. Not really a dig as it’s a legitimate one in this most bizarre of general election campaigns. I think for similar reasons. They’re likely to make gains from the Tories because of Reform as much as anything else.
  10. Barely being challenged there by the national broadcaster 👍🏻
  11. Reform are essentially just killing the conservatives as a parliamentary force. In return for one seat. I can live with that. They’re fucking horrid but it is what it is. It’s a quirk of FPTP and might even be the beginning of the much needed electoral reform process. The other thing about Reform is that they’re a protest vote for the disaffected. If they merge with conservatives they lose that dubious appeal and what does Farage have to offer? 1 seat? If you join the two parties together you lose support imo. You don’t combine the two. If you’re still voting Tory at this point then Reform holds little appeal. And vice versa.
  12. Where’s a suicide bomber when you need one?
  13. Clearly unable to get her head round the concept of a household not going through loads of bottles of beer, wine and/or spirits every fortnight
  14. Don’t worry about it, she’s probably just pissed
  15. I don’t think he’d be interested. Being on a select committee would be too much like hard work. But it’s done on proportion of seats anyway. If Labour have a huge majority, as expected, they may allow more diversity in terms of other parties having more than their fair share if you like. But as 1/650th of MPs, Reform would have no right to his being a member of one. Let alone a chair of one. Chairs are also, by convention, meant to be representative of the amount of seats parties have. He could make a case for being a representative on one such committee. But his party in the commons (should he by the sole mp) would have much less of a case to argue this than even, say for example, Plaid or the DUP.
  16. Howe’s formation with this set of players would work really well imo. I’ve thought a few times the ‘double pivot’ is too cautious, especially against teams looking to sit deep and hit England on the break. I could elaborate but I can’t be arsed / don’t care enough
  17. They’re predicting reform will win there. But also that it’ll be their only seat. I don’t really think it’ll change his position as serial grifter much at all. He certainly won’t be interested in doing a job for his constituents in any meaningful way.
  18. She’s the closest thing they’ve got to a competent, sensible public speaker. And she’s fucking tapped
  19. I wonder if she remembers the conversation we had upstairs in the Trent about Wuthering Heights. I doubt it though as she was fucking bladdered. So much so I just got her a coke a couple of times when she asked for a double vodka and coke and she didn’t even notice.
  20. General election 2024: 10 things we learned from the Labour manifesto
  21. If he’s arsed enough then his next quest could be PR. It’s the only way Reform become a force. I think he’ll go back to the sidelines (possibly USA) after the election though. You’re right about his being dangerous and indulged though. Like the lesson should’ve well and truly been learned. This is where I agree with SpongeBob and Rayvin about the dishonesty re: Brexit. Because in the case of Farage, he should be hauled over the coals for the pup he sold. Then taken to task about his inevitable ‘version of Brexit’
