  1. No no no, no no no, no no no, ooh ooh
  2. Honourable mention to former player Fabio Pancake
  3. Where’s the Civil Service Strollers when you need them?
  4. I spent a summer working for the CSA. That’s as far as my connection goes. Cheers for the humble brag though, Dave. You’ll be reminding us you have a lass next
  5. Varies a bit though. Rooney was like a man at that age. Barkley too. Saw some footage of the latter playing academy or district football once. It was ridiculous. He was like a bloke playing against 14 year olds
  6. Yeah, I agree. Probably not ideal but a possible solution with so little in the way if midfield options. He might surprise us like. But from a developmental pov he shouldn’t be playing this much anyway. We’re not even sure he’s stopped growing
  7. He was ineffective without my through balls
  8. Isn’t there more energy stored in the first metre or so of the Ocean’s surface than in the entire atmosphere? There was a prediction last feb / march about extreme weather in Europe based on the Atlantic surface being about a degree or two warmer than normal. That turned out to be correct with the mental temperatures in the med. Yet you still have most people who think Just Stop Oil and the like are public enemy No. 1 for delaying their journey to work.
  9. Howay, man. They can’t even get their head round the concept of players only being worth what other clubs are willing to pay
  10. I would be tempted to play Miley as the DM all the time with current players available. I’m not saying that’s definitely his position long term but when I’ve seen him play as one of the more advanced midfielders he leaves us open. He kind often ‘cheats’ in the way Gordon sometimes does too. By that I mean instead of properly tracking his runner, he’ll hope the ball gets turned over so he’s stole a 5/10 yard march on his marker. It’s fine Gordon doing it sometimes because he’s in a more advanced role. But Miley leaves us too open doing it there. He’s probably gotten away with it and had joy at junior / reserve level, as the ball gets turned over more easily and you don’t get punished as much. If you ask him to play a more disciplined role then that might cut out that issue. With the deeper starting position and less licence to get forward he knows he then can’t do that. He’s also very neat and tidy on the ball and comfortable receiving it under pressure, which also suits that position. The other thing is that it frees up both Bruno and Longstaff to be the more marauding / attacking midfielders of the 3 in the manager’s favoured system.
  11. the way they go on about him, man. The next Chris Waddle and all that shite. You’re genuinely talking about the sort of player who’ll do very well to have a career anywhere near as good as someone like Wayne Routledge. Which isn’t a dig at either player. Just highlighting how batshit crazy a fair proportion of RTG are.
  12. That’s the Japanese. If you’re going to be fucking lacist, at least get it wight
  13. Adam Armstrong has more goals and more than twice as many assists from less appearances this season. Which puts Clarke’s absolutely incredible numbers for 2023/24 into some context

    Cooking

Made a lovely green Thai curry last night, even if I do say so myself. I’ve sussed out that instead of trying to make it healthy I just have it instead of the occasional takeaway. So full fat coconut milk. And in addition to the paste (used Blue Dragon as it doesn’t contain fish sauce) I hoy in some dark soft sugar, plenty soy sauce, fresh lime juice, ginger, garlic, a squirt of sweet chilli sauce and sriracha plus fresh coriander and basil.
  15. I think we can at least all agree that, if Trump does get back in, it’ll be Starmer’s fault
  16. I thought for second goal, even though I’ve no idea where all that added time came from, it was soft. I thought it was a poor challenge by Miley. He could’ve gotten a big closer. You can maybe say he should’ve put his body on the line. But even if you think he was right to stay on his feet he should’ve got a bit tighter and he would probably make a better challenge by not turning his back. Obviously it was unlucky but the deflection, as opposed to a proper block, was made possible by the weak challenge
