Btw, I’m not saying the Stone Island thing is getting out of hand. But I’ve just been to LIdl at West Moor and there was a granny in there who was 70, if she was a day, and she had a pink Stone Island hoodie on. I know it was probably bought in Marmaris but still -
She is now

I hadn’t looked at Storey’s Twitter for a while. He lists himself as ‘founder’ of both Wolf Data Systems and Rich Energy. The reason being, after a quick look at Companies House, is that he’s got fuck all to do with either company anymore. Unless he’s now just an employee, which seems unlikely. He is, however referring to himself as the MD of Wolf Jerky I wonder how that company is doing.

The only reason it wasn’t overwhelmed is because the people in care homes were left to die. And the only reason they took that decision is because they thought it wouldn’t look as bad on the news. I.e. the lack of access rather than similar pictures to what we saw in Italy, for example. And like NJS has said, there’ll be no accountability

Well you’re the fucking serial killer

I think you’re spot on. It feels like a lot longer with everything that has happened. But really it’s only the last election where they suffered a chastening defeat. They’ll also recall how Corbyn (I’m not trying to reopen that debate) wouldn’t play the game in terms of saying the right things and the press ripped into him with devastating effect. So they’re being very cautious. I wouldn’t want them to be complacent but I also feel it’s an opportunity that’s being missed. You can’t really see them becoming more brave once they’re in

Not much different. It’s all about the government and their shitshow. I do follow that site a bit. And while it’s not quite the level of the Truss / Kwarteng nadir for the Tories, that’s a worse showing than the collated polls for the previous month. Barring something incredible it’s an absolute done deal. I’d personally like a pact with the Lib Dems that almost wipes the shitehawks off the map. But I think they’re too far apart on PR.

It’s depressing, mate. But strategically, why would you do anything different? I’m not advocating/justifying it. And I agree with you. But the strategists close to Starmer will be telling him to sit on his hands. I think a lot of these types (whilst preferable to those who’ve worked for the current lot) just see winning the election with a huge majority as success. That’s it

There might be a grey area. I remember something about it at the time too. By grey area I mean it’s not a normal bloke on the street, so to speak. And there were public announcements at the time suggesting he was on a ventilator iirc. So the FOI might be asking confirmation that what the public was being briefed about the PM’s condition at the time was accurate. I don’t know, I’m just guessing. As an aside, ministers are very keen on investigating ways in which AI could be used to streamline the civil service. However, when there was a suggestion that AI could potentially be used to answer FOI requests in a matter of seconds, they weren’t quite so on board with the idea.

Remember when he wanted to launch an anti-obesity campaign because he’d lost weight? Except he’d only lost weight because he’d been quite ill with covid. Which made it rather preachy to say the least. And he soon put it all back on again anyway

I’d like to point out that at no stage did I not want Johnson to die
