I think it’s largely because Trippier is our main playmaker in effect in the lopsided back 4. With Burn playing more like a third centre half a lot of the time. If you leave Trippier out, that doesn’t work so maybe you then need two fullbacks giving you width. Which disrupts things a lot, in relation to how you line up. Then I don’t think he thinks Hall is ready and doesn’t seem to rate Targett. I think Gemmill’s right about the game being on a knife edge. Gloom is right too though that you can’t play Trippier twice a week all season at his age. This squad is still very young (in terms of its development) too. What have we had? 4 windows since the takeover. With a decade and a half of poor investment (and not just in the first team).

Nice. He’s a funny one like. I kind of know him by association. I don’t he’s a well chap but that doesn’t excuse everything of course. I think he’s back writing the programme notes for Percy Main Amateurs so keep your eye out for volume two of The Village Voice 👍🏻

Got feet like you though, which evens it up a bit

Also 2 keepers on the bench. You would think just giving a young player the experience of being there would be more beneficial. I think that really smacks of ‘look how thin the squad is’

Don’t forget the hardworking families struggling to get to the food bank

Not just smug and fake but the format too. I couldn’t get away with it. There was a lass I knew who liked it before it really took off when Ross had a pet monkey, which was hilarious apparently. Obviously you would catch the odd episode as it was pretty ubiquitous in the late 90s. The scenes where they’d sit in a cafe or apartment when they’d all be there. Then they’d one by one do little skits - Joey the thick as fuck fanny magnet, Phoebe the ‘cookie’ shite singer or whatever. Fuck off you bunch of fucking cunts. It was going up against the likes of I’m Alan Partridge, Father Ted and The League of Gentlemen at that time. Even stuff like One Foot in the Grave was miles better imo, in terms of more mainstream stuff. Not really much of a one for US sit-coms in general though. Married with Children was canny when I was about 13 like. Although that might not have been 100% down to the jokes

Not sure if anyone has seen it (think it’s on YouTube) but Fury won via an absolutely terrible decision very early in his professional career v John McDermott for the English heavyweight title. Obviously he was a lot less experienced but it was similar in that he wasn’t in shape and thought he only had to turn up. And then, like tonight, by the time he realised what was happening he’d already ‘lost’.
-
That’s arguably worse than a loss. A completely bent decision against a bloke who’s never fought in a professional boxing match before.

Fury needs to get back on the wild boar

Big John Fury should be entertaining post-fight

Aye, they’re using the Olympic Stadium while Camp Nou is redeveloped I think

You also have to laugh at how they’ve even managed to make that about us.

Got a like from good old Roker Mackem who definitely doesn’t lie when they say they never watch any of our games and that they don’t care about anything we do
