I think they might view this livra, err, Tino kid as Trippier’s long term replacement. I could still see us signing a left back for the starting XI. It might depend on ASM, Lewis and one of Krafth or Manquillo going to see another LB come in I suppose. But the CL football and the extra games that comes with that means, seeing as he can supposedly cover both fullback positions, he’ll see loads of game time anyway even if he’s not first choice straight away on either side of the pitch. I’m canny chilled whatever as everything so far suggests there’s a short, medium and long term plan in place and they know exactly what the fuck they’re doing behind the scenes

That’s a bit harsh I think. He rode his luck early on without a doubt. But he had much more controlled second half of his innings and played some lovely shots. I mean he’s never going to be great. But i don’t think there’s any better options out there. I think him and Duckett have the best record since Strauss / Cook as an opening partnership. I appreciate that says more about what’s come before than anything btw
