Bairstow’s the most indulged, spoilt brat of a cricketer I can remember. No one expects him to bat like Cook. But even after his best ever season he fancied keeping wicket so he could bat with zero responsibility. It’s absolutely fucked England's team balance and he hasn’t contributed anywhere near enough with the bat to make up for the missed chances. I don’t know why he gets such special treatment (and it goes back to before the current setup). He’s about the worst advert out there for the extreme form of ‘Bazball’ they’re now playing

Neither would I have so I’m not about to call him a coward but it’s not exactly news re: Moeen as he’s always had a weakness there. Also this fast bouncy wicket is what they’ve supposedly been wanting all summer. We get it and - what do you know? Aussie type wickets suit the Aussie quicks. And there’s another one on the stroke of lunch. You can talk about missed opportunities- especially with catches but it’s not like that’s not a skill in itself and not an integral part of the game.

What’s Bairstow bringing to the side at this point? There’s not a fucking chance he’ll be dropped if fit either
