Well we could do it once then it would be outlawed in future
-
It’s Phil Craig I think (from way back)
-
Also, he’s one of the best 3 midfielders but once Ramsay is up to speed and if we buy this Italian or another midfielder, is Joelinton a better makeshift CF than Gordon? We might only get Wissa in that position this window. I know he struggled there before but we’re completely different as a team and he’s light years ahead of what he was in confidence terms compared to back when Bruce hung him out to dry. He fucking loves the club as well and gives absolutely everything on the pitch
-
Apart from being wrong it’s a shit point. If you go in the basis we were lacking in depth last season without being in the CL then you need more cover/rotation options now. As someone else said you need to move away from the idea of a set best XI if you want to start properly competing on multiple fronts
-
Laughing at the opening sentence btw
-
And his remit might be to make sure he doesn’t do anything that could potentially break the rules (or precipitate a change in the rules).
-
Ah, gotcha. That would be even better in terms of the reaction as well. There’s loads of precedent for the loaning out club paying the lion’s share of wages too.
-
We never seem to pull that sort of move though. Although we’ve never been in this situation before. Isak wouldn’t agree to it though imo. I mean he should if Liverpool (or a similar club in terms of stature) isn’t an option this window. But nothing suggests he’s going to act remotely reasonably. Mind, were it to happen, the whole Issk saga would almost be worth it just for the reaction

You lot can thank us for flying under the radar a bit this close season
-
Aye, he’s a proper country boy. Dad was a farmer in Herefordshire. Which is West Midlands but like Worcestershire has more of a West Country feel to it than what you’d normally associate with the West Midlands. Still, I suppose Julian Dicks had a very strong bond with the club and he’s a Bristol lad
-
Well you know as much as I do then
-
I largely agree with your views but I also think there’s been a poor situation for some time in terms of the competence of those running the club on a day to day basis. Ultimately that lies with the ownership. It’s not an easy thing to get right so I will cut them some slack in terms of giving them the opportunity to learn from these mistakes. In a similar vein, with the sponsorship, the City case could be drawn out for ages. It already has been and it’s not beyond the realms of possibility that the PL and the cartel clubs are complicit in dragging out the saga rather than admit Man City have won. There’s form with our takeover. With that in mind, what exactly is stopping a load of sponsorship deals with rolling one year contracts? So they can be improved if and when the associated parties stuff is shown to be illegal or whatever?

Just thinking about that prick btw. Pitchside at the Liverpool match when he said “The story I broke this week is a huge development” or something very similar. Like he’s some sort of successor to Bernstein and Woodward. When in fact there was very little (if any) change in the player’s stance and Ornstein was just demonstrating a complete lack of integrity by parroting exactly what he’d been told to say and kowtowing to his paymasters.
-
The owners aren’t going to sell him to Liverpool because the fans think he’s a complete total and utter cunt.
-
Craic I’m guessing
-
I don’t think he goes to Liverpool at any price this window. That’s based purely on how I think the owners will feel about the way Isak, his agent and Liverpool have behaved.
-
Is that from The Hobbit? The book I mean, not Robin
-
This transfer window has been a descent into maelstrom. I hope he ends up getting murdered on the Rue Morgue
-
It would be ideal if Isak went the other way. By ideal I mean in the context of the current mess
-
18 years old and they’re able to spend that sort of money on him. They’ve spent over £300m this window now too but we’re the ones being unreasonable over the Isak fee?
-
We’re at the point where we’re arguing about something that didn’t happen. I wish he would just fuck off abroad now and we get £120m or whatever to spend on the squad. At least we’ll be able to whinge about the football soon

I had a week near Limoges about 15 years ago when Flybe used to go there from Newcastle. We went to the Dordogne for the day including seeing some cave paintings. The place in Limousin was nice and the area was too. But if I’d realised how good the roads were and how relatively close it was I’d have booked a week in the Dordogne instead. As it was the day trip there was enough to appreciate how stunning it was.

Always with the cherry tomatoes

At last, a Brexit bonus
-
I also think they’d hold onto his registration for the next three years before they let him leave for c. £70m
