Maybe. Could just that it’s snowballed out of control to the point where he doesn’t feel he can retreat from his position. Although I wouldn’t be surprised if he’s shit-scared of his agent and what he might be capable of

Not true. Manc-mag was on my team

Shame no one will buy it because wearing football tops is mag-like behaviour

I don’t know tbh. His patter is fucking abysmal on Bluesky though. Wasn’t Greg chairperson (or similar) of NUST? Not sure if they still are.

Generic small time football blather thread FOREVER

He’s a proper fucking gobshite, that kid.

The fact is £150m may be OTT. But the way Liverpool, Isak, his agent and cunts like Ornstein have behaved is the precise reason the club is taking this hardline stance.
-
I don’t actually mind it although I haven’t been in decades. The East Midlands isn’t all that different to the north east. I went to university in Loughborough.

I just googled your username. Took about 3 minutes. For what little it’s worth I thought it was a disgrace that you lot couldn’t invest and build after you won the league. It was brilliant all the same when you did, even if it was tainted by our being absolutely dogshit and getting relegated the same year.

I used to go to Leicester quite regularly and that put me off Leicester

I’ve got a better name: haddaway and shite

Honestly don’t think he’d win. Also Liverpool have demonstrated what they are willing to pay with their previous bid. I think the more likely outcome is the player being liable for his value. Otherwise everyone would do what he does when they want a move and this is pretty unprecedented. It’s obviously different nowadays (correctly) when a player’s contract has expired.

Already called it, mate. No fucker twigged when I said City fan not Citeh fan. I was ready with a Basil Brush emoji and everything.
-
Don’t think he has a release clause as they aren’t compulsory in England
-
He’s held a ballot now

Aye, Ramsay wouldn’t have started anyway. I don’t even think Wissa would if he was signed in time (would be on the bench though)
-
Thought about a possible solution. Isak being allowed to go on loan abroad (Saudi) until January but only if we can sign Wissa plus a very good striker on loan from a Saudi club first. I have to confess I don’t know if the latter is a possibility. Still not ideal but better than having a player stinking the place out / doing the bare minimum to fulfil his contract. As I think his agent will tell him that is the best plan if we don’t get a bid near his perceived value. Rather than risk legal action.

I thought Ketsbaia was Skol of yore

Does that not get all your luggage wet?

City fan but not a Citeh fan

Yeah but any deals will fuck us over anyway and it’s only because they’re so dishonest about the hit to the economy due to Brexit. Not that I disagree with anything you’ve just said about why the government thinks it needs to be done

What I don’t get is there’s actual evidence where being associated with opposition to Trump has seen popularity rise for political parties in other arguably similar countries. Canada and Australia for example. And those who would be more closely aligned with Trump have suffered. Labour have seen this presumably and thought doing the opposite is a good idea? It’s insane. They’ll never appease the right wing press or the Tories who’ve now moved onto reform. Meanwhile they’re haemorrhaging support amongst those usually inclined to vote for them.

Essentially they’re pissed off because we haven’t rolled over. Everything else is just noise
-
Probably would just create more headlines at this point.

It did start with Shankly but they 100% bought their success in the 70s and 80s. They’ve been massively successful and that’s obviously commendable. But this ‘special’ bollocks is money. If we could offer players £100k more a week than them, Man Utd, Chelsea etc could you’d soon see what really motivates players to join clubs
