They had a great end to last season and they took that momentum into this season. And it’s been snuffed out in the blink of an eye
-
No need to act surly
-
Ducking right
-
I bet he’s back on the coke. Not saying that excuses it anyway, just the vibe I’m getting
-
How does autocorrect frequently get it so wrong btw?
-
Please let this be true
-
I think Barton might’ve been a world record for a defender at that time, not just a British record. He’d had a fantastic season at Wimbledon but we essentially spent a fortune on a RB who wasn’t as good as one we already had (Stevie Watson).

And George Best
-
Or both
-
Right, who’s the next one through the door then?
-
The club have thanked him for this
-
Think he’ll be eased into things anyway but JDT was also played out if position. At least Isak is a genuine no 9.
-
They’ve come on here and CT’s comments have sealed the deal
-
Edwards in a nutshell. Trolls the fans continuously and can’t take it back
-
I always think of the spiv off Dad’s Army when I see him
-
If it’s not easy to come out with all that whilst not really making a point and being so inarticulate
-
Mackems have confirmed he’s shit btw 👍🏻
-
Not even worthy of our attention, Craig. He’s a shit, thick as fuck wum
-
Whose account?

Levelling Up is, I presume, Sec of State for Levelling Up, Housing and Communities. So it is very much a real position as it’s the old MHCLG which had the ‘levelling up’ agenda added to it when Gove got the gig. Its remit covers housing and local government so there’s actually lots of scope for him to muck up important stuff. Certainly much more of a real job than the previous one which was basically leaking civil service cuts to the press and turning up unannounced at Cabinet Office buildings and leaving sarcastic notes on people’s desks.
-
Actually have seen him play. Caught the first half of Real Sociedad v Barcelona the other night. He scored after about 5 mins.
-
If it stays 0-0 I’ll be disappointed
-
That’s the point of this place, mate. Which is not to say you’re wrong
-
Yeah, I get all that. I think my point is it’s very difficult to get the right players because of where we were. I.e. the club being absolutely fucking stinking the division out and heading for the championship. It means you can’t sign top strikers who want CL football. Up and coming ones - yes, but you’re in competition with CL clubs who want them as backups (PSG / Ekitike). As others mention an alternative is to splurge loads and that’s a poor long / medium term policy. Not just FFP but because it starts unravelling everything Howe etc have worked so hard to create. And we don’t need short-term fixes because we’re not desperate. Frustrating, yes but they inherited an almighty mess and they’re fixing it tye right way imo

More want than need with the latter, surely. I do get where you’re coming from but I was about to more or less post the same as Gemmill re the window not being closed. A lot of things happen near the end of the window too when a big deal leads to another etc. Plus clubs want a replacement lined up before selling goal scorers. Even if we didn’t get anyone else though we’re still light years ahead of where we were pre-takeover. It hasn’t even been a year yet
