  1. Well they don’t give a shit about / openly admire Man City so that should answer that
  2. I don’t know. Seems like anything can happen at the minute. Probably just wishful thinking though on my part
  3. It should be based on the recommendations of a royal commission. Not another fucking referendum
  4. Electoral Calculus had Labour just short of an overall majority. Albeit looking at the previous month’s combined polls up to the end of July
  5. I saw a post in the (inevitably 100 page or so) thread about our match v Man City stating that Trippier’s red card was reversed by VAR because City weren’t allowed to beat us. I shit thee not.
  6. You’re alright. Just tell us about things your patients have instead
  7. Sunak’s answers to what’s your favourite…? Remind me of Johnson talking about painting win boxes to look like London buses. Ie completely made up bollocks because he’s incapable of acting like a human
  8. It’s just a really clumsy challenge. Stones makes quite heavy contact with Schar and is nowhere near the ball. The match is a bit of a blur tbh but I think VAR checked and decided against it. As they said on motd it’s one of those where it’s a foul anywhere else on the pitch. I think Stones’ body language suggested he knew he’d gotten away with one. Anyway it was a great game and a very good result for us, even if we maybe should’ve won it. I think we lost the plot for about 10 mins after going 3-1 up. As I think someone else on here said we could’ve easily lost it too. I think you’ll win the league again. Haaland looks like he’s what’s been slightly lacking in terms of allowing you to be a bit more direct when you need to be. Hopefully you can finally win the CL 👍🏻
  9. Thing is Mitrovic would’ve cost at least double what we paid for Wood last January. I just don’t think he’s worth anything like that before you consider the FFP impact. Wood is limited but he was a stopgap. We needed to pay the £25m to trigger his release clause and it’s probably double his value, even in the inflated market. But I think it was worth it on balance because I don’t think we’d have give on that fantastic run of results without a focal point up front. Without that run, starting with the win against Leeds iirc, then survival would’ve been touch and go. Mitrovic might have a really good season and he’s definitely playing with confidence in a side creating chances but he’s yet to have one good PL campaign. I don’t particularly rate either of them though
  10. Was pure cringe at the end like. Usyk was professional enough to rein it in but you could tell he was thinking stfu
  11. I think he’d beat Fury too although I think it would be a close run thing. I’m not sure it’ll happen though as I think Fury wanted one last mega fight v Joshua for the undisputed title. He might view Usyk as too risky relative to the potential reward
  12. Verbal offer is spoken, written offer is written 👍🏻
  13. Something I’ve noticed about Gerrard is he’s more than happy to throw his players under the bus when things aren’t going well.
  14. That’s how I found it. That particular bit stuck in my mind
  15. I almost want TGQ back for 5 minutes just to revisit his thoughts on Gerrard and Howe from back then
  16. Aye, totally. I just was trying to say they basically chased down ODI targets because they were effectively playing with a ball that behaved more like a white ball. So loads has been made of the change in mentality while that’s hardly been mentioned as a major factor
  17. I’m not sure Bazball is even a thing. But I do think the positive mindset that’s cone with the change of coach has been a good thing. I also think him and Stokes have a similar mindset and attacking cricket is generally a good thing too. I don’t like Stokes not batting properly though. He’s far too good for that. What doesn’t get mentioned often enough is this batch of Dukes balls which go soft and don’t reverse as much from about 30 overs onwards. This has been seen a lot in the county championship this summer too. Without that factor the recent successful run chases would’ve been much harder and arguably almost impossible. Especially the one against India. Now it still needed the positive mindset to even go for these chases and the form of the batsmen so I’m not saying it’s purely down to the ball just the current batch made it a lot easier. That, as much as anything though is why it’s unsustainable in tests in England long term. Of course you also, even at present, need to bat long enough to get the benefit of them deteriorating
  18. Was just thinking after reading that Barnes and Ryder should collaborate on a novel. I’m thinking Toon foot soldier and NUFC manager solving homicide cases in their spare time. Or something like that. I’ll leave the details to the experts
