  1. I’ve got a mate who was a canny mellow, middle of the road type who has a nice house, nice family, good job and no financial worries who now regularly posts pro reform stuff on Facebook. It’s depressing as fuck. I do think removing yourself from the platform altogether is probably the best way forward like. Because none of Instagram / facebook / twitter has been a forum for genuine discussion for ages, if it ever really was.
  2. Well they play to his strengths. As AH pointed out we signed him because we were desperate and were aware of the release clause. He couldn’t really play in the system Howe wanted to play because of his lack of mobility. Even then we got good money for him. I’m more pleased for him than annoyed because he seems like a good lad. I think he’s having a purple patch though
  3. They can’t keep doing it though. They can within the regulations but surely not indefinitely from a viable business point of view.
  4. Robbie Elliott was a good lb too. Especially before the injuries caught up with him
  5. Aye. Like loads of stuff there’s an inferior uk brewed version. Even the mass produced European lagers are usually better in their original versions. Actually the knock offs you get in Aldi and Lidl are nicer too, and brewed in Italy. Also, if you’re ever in Majestic wines they do the red label Peroni. Which is a nice drop and still the original Italian version
  6. He looked poor because he couldn’t do it but he never hid. Showed his good character but limitations at the same time. He was neat and tidy in possession getting the ball off the back 4 but he absolutely needed a bit of creativity alongside him
  7. The baby faced cunt
  8. He’s from Lombardy so it should be risotto
  9. Rob Lee was absolutely class at his best bit he lost form the year we should’ve won the title in the run in. He wasn’t the only one and an error on KK’s part (in retrospect) imo was there weren’t enough players with the experience of having won things to get us across the line. Nerves crept in because of that. But Lee was pretty complete as a CM. Box to box, could put his foot in plus goals. And a great engine plus work ethic. Cabaye was a good player but I’d say he benefited from having Tiote alongside him. Tiote wasn’t creative but he covered so much ground. Tiote even allowed Nolan to look good in CM two. Nolan had an eye for goal but was not mobile. At Bolton they played a 3 to get the most out of him. Tiote was a fabulous athlete (with more to his game than just that).
  10. Btw, those gammon-baiting reels on Facebook with tourists acting like tourists and not ‘respecting’ the ridiculously dressed guards at the London royal palaces who are basically there and dressed like that for the tourists. Another insta-block
  11. Seen the same fella doing a one on Shield’s Road. Me Mam was ‘disgusted’ by it but keeps showing it to people
  12. That’s what PSR is designed to do. Can’t have these interlopers ruining it for the big boys
  13. That big reveal they did that revealed nothing To be slightly serious, this is just about the worst way you can conduct historical research. I.e. to have a (mostly baseless in this case) theory and then to go looking for evidence to back it up.
  14. Odd that the club historian hadn’t revealed this new information to the people running the actual club’s social media
  15. I love that film. Forgot all about that
  16. No surprise to see him on there, telling it like it is. The conversion to Islam was more of a shock though
  17. I think Dyer and Bellamy both did a history rewrite on their relationship with Robson were neither of them were particularly honest with themselves. You’ve had that with other players from that era too like Bramble and Jenas, although in their cases it was blaming the fans for their own shortcomings in terms of mental strength. I think Robson was eventually knackered when he lost the likes of Shearer too, if the rumours are true, and the ridiculous balancing act of the younger and more experienced players factions couldn’t be managed anymore. If Robson did want to replace Shearer he was probably correct as for at least the last two seasons here all he was arsed about was breaking Milburn’s record, arguably to the detriment of the team. Bellamy’s a funny one. For all lots of opposition fans hated him the worst thing he ever did to other teams was play well and make his mouth go. He didn’t cheat or dive or leave his foot in like sone cowards do. And he gave 100%. Basically played the game like I think people should. He was definitely part of the problem off the field though. He seems to have made a lot of mistakes and, apart from the financial woes, he was never anywhere very long as a player. Which tells its own story. I’d like to see him do well and properly turn his life around with Wales though. I think people can change and grow up (being a footballer must be a fucking weird life - good and bad). And he should definitely be thought of as someone for whom his time here was more good than bad. Much more so. He wants a fucking slap for some of the things he’s said since he left though. The fans here adored the little cunt.
  18. Sunderland fans who live there get to taste victory every time they put down Co. Durham instead of Tyne and Wear when they need to supply their address
  19. On the rare occasion when I’ve been daft enough to listen to him on a phone in you could almost guarantee he’d ask the question ‘what level have you played at?’ Or something along those lines with any caller he disagreed with. His patter is fucking rancid.
  20. Savage was probably a better, more effective player than he is given credit for. But he’s never been anywhere near as good as he thinks he was. He’s a fucking shite pundit as well
  21. 750,000 fans for the FA Cup parade in 1973 but couldn’t sell out Roker Park for the home games in their one and only European campaign the following season? Makes you think
