  1. Yeah, I know. I was mainly coming at it from the pov of the inevitable escalation and further deaths. Ditto the mass shooting, with the obvious caveat that the loss of life is tragic too. It just seems like a hopeless descent into all out war after the events today with Israel also launching a ground offensive in Lebanon. Fuck knows where this ends up, but even if a truce can be brokered it’ll seemingly be after thousands more deaths.
  2. There’s also reports of several dead and critically injured following a mass shooting in Tel Aviv.
  3. I’m the same. My dad worked at the civic centre back then and him and my mam took me. But I was about 3, so have absolutely no recollection of it
  4. Sadly not. I think they’re saved up for the TikTok dance routines
  5. I signed up to the Patreon btw. I can get it with Amazon music but I love it and they probably get about 0000.1p per stream on there (if they’re lucky).
  6. I saw Edwards out jogging again in Palmersville on Sunday. You just reminded me. As you were
  7. Can’t see Shy FX sampling that version
  8. I think I have mentioned this before but they fucking despise Dawn Thewlis to pathological levels. As far as I know, her dad played a bit for Newcastle reserves in the 60s. Plus a bit of minor counties cricket for Northumberland. And that’s it
  9. My lass is a cardiovascular nurse and sees it a lot too. Especially the coke and people combining it with weekend binge drinking. And increasingly with younger and younger men usually. And that’s just the ones willing to admit it. So, aye, epidemic is probably a good description.
  10. Case has previously had a period of extended sick leave, so I don’t think there’s anything to suggest there’s more to their announcement
  11. Looking back I think it’s an epidemic that’s just gotten worse and worse. I think you probably need to go back decades for it have been a rich man’s drug. But I do think it’s more widespread (and presumably cheaper?) than ever. Incidentally us and another couple were in the lakes the weekend just gone. We got a taxi back to the place after having a meal and a couple of drinks in Windermere Town. All four of us were of the opinion our driver was coked up. He must’ve been about 45 years old, at a guess. Certainly not a young lad. I know that in itself doesn’t prove anything but it does hint at how commonplace it’s become.
  12. I don’t disagree at all really. Just that’s what I think is probably the legal perspective/justification for making the distinction. I would also guess they’ve introduced sniffer dogs where there’s a perceived issue highlighted by clubs. I would also think it’s absolutely fucking rife so the numbers getting caught are relatively minute
  13. See quite a of young kids round ours on de-limited E-bikes riding like fucking maniacs. Some are clearly being used to deliver drugs. There doesn’t seem to be much clamping down, which is probably due to resources as much as anything. When you see them overtaking cars on the wrong side of the road doing about 40 with no helmet though. Fucking hell, man.
  14. The venue is relevant. That’s why you can issue the banning orders. Not saying it’s right or wrong but the law doesn’t view it in the same way as trying to take it into a nightclub where you have to be 18 to legally be there. Also due to the perceived link between taking drugs and football hooliganism, again in the ‘eyes of the law’. Different context, different punishments. I do agree it’s relatively harsh if the people haven’t done anything else. I’m also with you on coke
  15. Aye. The review is like a parody of The Guardian.
  16. Shearer definitely not being a hypocrite there
  17. What awful news. Hope they’ve caught it in time
  18. Been raving in Digbeth years ago. It was a bit scary then too
  19. To be fair to him, he was/is a fairly moderate social democrat who was eviscerated for the way he ate a bacon sandwich and was portrayed by most of the media as being just to the left of Leon Trotsky. Being yourself is probably difficult against that backdrop and he inherited the leadership at bad time too
  20. Yeah. The original is right up there in my favourite all-time films, so I watched 2049 expecting to be disappointed. But I thought it was great. There’s a miniseries being developed for Prime too. I hope it’s just one series if it happens though
